  1. Bangkok got bit more expensive but mostly in more "upscale" bars some boys may ask for inflated tip , say 2000 where 1500 was norm or 2500 up to 3000 instead of 2000. Tips in massages are rather the same . Soi6, Silom and Suriwong are your friends and Saphan Kwai /Suthisan area where min tip oscillate between 800 and 1000 . As for "sexy twinks " what that really means ? The same guy may cause sudden erection in one and screaming run away in another one. Thailand and all SE Asian are not areas with shortage of sexy twinks
  2. while wholeheartedly I agree with Thailand top position, rest is bit questionable - relatively low place of India or Italy with relation to Greece, absence of Mexico , USA , Spain , France , Turkey and UK and prominent position of Emirates makes me wonder. Truth is , always those types of rankings produce results questionable results. Me and my travelling friends often recall similar ranking from one of luxury travel magazines in early 90 ties when Palm Springs California came on top of most desired cities to visit leaving in the dust behind Paris, Rome , Rio, Tokyo, NY and all other worthies including St.Olaf, MN
  3. I think both variants are operating i.e all the way from Jomtien to Naklua and Beach rd loop. Last trip I boarder one at soi Post Office thinking it will take me to Jomtien but it turned left on Second Road and terminated there. To be sure it's better to look for signs 'Naklua" or "Jomtien" on the vehicle
  4. Good to know boys are still on the market so to speak. As for better days, it goes without saying , without bar to facilitate meetings with clients it must be much harder to get some business. Not everybody is keen on hooking with guys on the street. Not sure about other apps but I combed grindr few times and saw only one advertising there. As for opening at end of next month , question is : which is "next month" in that story. I wouldn't bank on it but will be happy to see I was wrong. that's very commendable and they deserve it.
  5. there's no such thing
  6. and it seems there are also blends of those as on few occasions on Beach Road I stopped baht bus going all the way to Jomtien without need to change and in opposite direction was able to catch one going from Jomtien all the way to Naklua
  7. yes
  8. Passengers are to be blamed. Instead of sitting home and tending gardens or just watching re-runs on TV they decided to travel inconveniencing airport personnel
  9. I can imagine , I just don't have the money
  10. the same way we ignore our lesser cousins
  11. reminds me my visit in Ulu Watu temple on southern tip of Bali, another monkey infested place . All my time there I kept one of my hands on my glasses
  12. most of us tourists anywhere are never part of local market. I'm always amazed how few farangs in comparison with sidewalks of Silom I see in Silom market in soi 10 and it only steps from Silom itself.
  13. I never been there so have question - with those hordes it's even possible to visit those ruins or only marvel at them from the distance. I can imagine monkey's poo may be substantial obstacle to wander freely too.
  14. impression of my recent ( and a first at the same time ) visit there was that inconvenience was compensated by overcharging.
  15. Jason, don't you understand some people are shy😃
  16. Oh, yes, indeed shy ! I find it hard to believe, lol Great and engaging report !
  17. yes and no since we always deal with two markets , local and domestic If in our country, say an apple , cost 1$ and we go to Lesotho where the same may sell for 10 cents but shrewd seller quotes us 20 cents and we go for it two things happened at once, both true : 1/ we got ripped off, overpaying twice, ouch ! 2/ we got what we wanted for 1/5 of home value. Halleluiah ! is up to us how we go about that , whine or smile
  18. I saw them. My hair can't be more grey !
  19. and then some British visitors are coming to Thailand and are loudly complaining about greedy boys asking 5000 baht for overnight
  20. Was this Gallup Russia or Gallup Belarus ? Catchy statistics but it could mean that disapproval of Russians went down from 70 % to 67.20 %, drop of 4% and disapproval of Americans went up from 5% to 5.15 % , increase of 3%.
  21. I'd say it should be half price
  22. ShamelessMack2 – Gay escapes Thailand and around (travel.blog)
  23. 300 baht fee will end up in general revenue and will not deter too many from coming. But that surge in arrivals was sudden and met country unprepared here and there seems to be real. Few people reported that they may be 2-3 hours wait for next bus to Pattaya from Swampy, It was rarely a case pre-covid.
  24. Happy landing and happy reporting trip here
