Is "don't call me" the new standard internationally now?
vinapu replied to unicorn's topic in The Beer Bar
I think part of problem is easiness of communication those days and multichanneling, e-mails, phones, texts , Whatsapps, Lines , you name it that I sometimes have problem with keeping up with private massages from family and friends. People inundated with hundreds messages at work daily may have problems of keeping up and at one point they start not giving a s...t. -
marvels of time zones ! You were faster , I wanted to respond the same but mercifully read your post before started mine. Actually if I have a choice at BBB I always take those side seats.

it looks that expats are ever getting resourceful but sadly in the wrong way

it's why those balcony like walkers were invented to keep us seniors in balance

no chicken with cashew nuts though, sigh and sob

no, not double landlocked, borders 4 countries with access to the sea- Slovenia, Croatia , Ukraine and Romania

issue no, but our curiosity needs some satisfaction , otherwise various more or less plausible theories will emerge while real reason may be mundane like business not able to pay it's rent or meet it's payroll . Certainly that short stretch of soi 6 has it's share of mysterious business disappearance recently, Coffee Grinder is still mourned by many including myself which is telling since I'm not even coffee drinker.

some spas (Jey, Googuy, Arena, Sabaidee VClub ) can be our temporary salvation and some bars may turn helping hand to Tawan boys as well. We are waiting for reports of first sightings of them somewhere.

‘Land of Smiles’ fast becoming ‘Land of Russian Crime’

to be even handed , results of some American free elections may be prominent argument that those aren't that great idea after all. Not only in USA by the way, quite a few nasty types were elected and applauded freely, certain Adolf being one of them. We in the west are guilty of another free election sin by conveniently forgetting it's value when results don't suit our rulers purpose. Sad fates of ones like Arbenz of Guatemala, Mossadegh of Iran or Allende in Chile , just to name a few are sad memento that we can do much better job doing what we preach. And there's little doubt that first attempt after Second World War to change borders in Europe by force was made by country led by nasty guy still likely commanding support of it's country majority of population, some of them gays. But who said wolf can't be freely elected to lead lamb herd or chicken can't support fox as their boss. -

irony of history is that she was born in Stettin, now Szczecin in Poland , country she helped to annihilate by being instrumental force in it's three partitions -
Looks that not all hope is lost but it's distant one. It's still good to hear their boys are still passing by the soi.

at least Americans have choice between two candidates, not between candidate and prison on Kolyma. Love songs about Russian system certainly would sound better if supported by Russia own elite , always keen to keep both , their honestly made money and ill gotten gains as well their own children in their own country instead of safe and predictable heaven of the West as they do. After all Stalin's own daughter died American, don't you guys see irony in that ? -

think about that as your Guardian Angel suggested that certain jobs are becoming obsolete and not worth paying for. Days when you will drink red to a fish and white to a steak are approaching rapidly if only because less and less people care about customs and more and more about how it really tastes. -

explanation is logical but not very charitable to us , people whose English is not first , sometimes not even second language -
Have fun and good luck finding him. Even if he is not there, if he left on good terms and you show them pics on your phone they may have idea where he is

It was in Raya, not Marriott and room (Executive Suite, I treated myself for birthday ) was left as decent as when we entered in other than bedding which was seriously wrinkled.

I agree with part in bold but have a lot of doubts if word " sadly" has place in the same sentence. As I said before i like it now

I did not know you are so militaristically minded

both of you are right, in Slavic languages "Russian", 'Czech' , "Tatar " etc means ethnicity thus Hungarians in Romania, Turks in Bulgaria or Germans in Poland are still described as Hungarians, Turks or Germans even if living there since medieval times. -
Both of them only two very rare species, double landlocked countries i.e landlocked and bordering only other landlocked countries
