Don't ask your self , just upgrade to premium economy or even business as long as you can afford it and enjoy. For me it's other way around, 20 years ago even 6-8 hours flight was torture and now 15 hrs to Hongkong is just a breeze. Jet lags become thing killing me, it's week today since I returned home and still don't feel adjusted 100 %. So I guess we all are aging different way, only common thing being none of us is getting younger no matter what class we are flying.

my loyalty program is -I'm choosing airline with best connection and cheapest price. If they award points, good , if not, as nowadays is often a case with tickets booked with cheapest booking class, they can have it. So I collect those miles with quite a few airlines loyalty programs but give zero consideration to miles potentially earned when choosing my flight, for me it's just by-product.

Man hunting among ruins - December 2016 trip to Cambodia and Thailand
vinapu replied to vinapu's topic in Gay Thailand
I believe spelling check does that capitalization but nothing wrong with that for twinks fan like firecat. As for me it was rather case of ' if you don't see what you like , you better like what you see' , most important I was pretty happy with my choice and this is what counts here. If you are happy with my choice as well , even better. -
Man hunting among ruins - December 2016 trip to Cambodia and Thailand

Day 3 This trip was not Thailand trip for me , it was one to Cambodia with stopover in Thailand before and after that country. I did not have any plans for boy chasing in Cambodia but as you will see I was derailed few times and I’m glad I was. I already posted my massage impressions in separate thread so you will see some repetitions here but I will do it for readers who will not go to other thread so if you feel it was not necessary or outright boring , please forgive me. My plan for Cambodia was outside of mainstream i.e. to visit some remote Angkorian ruins which were completely inaccessible when I was there back in 2001. Where mined dirt tracks were , now are paved highways and where only military convoys could go now buses are speeding up. Gone are mines and their victims, once ubiquitous on the streets are now barely visible. So country changed for better and Siem Reap , then sleepy backwater in now somewhat bustling city day and night. Not all changes I liked. Prices of tourist services went up with noble exception of admission ticket to Angkor complex. As for souvenirs - classy handwork is now replaced by mass produced tourist trinkets. But country still is amazing value and for ruins buffs like me , heaven on earth waiting to be explored. Cambodia part of report will be much tamer and not as man filled as Thai part, I was almost bona fide traveler there but thanks God I got derailed almost daily. After my Screwboys twink left I went to Foodland for a breakfast, packed my suitcase , hailed taxi on Silom and 44 minutes later I entered cavernous Don Muang terminal for my Air Asia flight to Siem Reap. I don’t remember taxi fare but it was on the meter in somewhere 220-240 range. AirAsia allows only 7 kg hand luggage free so I was required to pay 592 baht for and excess luggage as my suitcase was 10.4 but consider this reasonable. When booking I paid also some token amount for a seat selection as on my way there I wanted window seat. For return part it was opposite , I prepaid for a luggage but did not care about the seat. Everything went smoothly and exactly 44 minutes after take off we landed at the Siem Reap airport, the same 44 minutes it took for taxi from Silom to DMK / Don Muang /. Since I was at front of the plane I was one of first to disembark and place myself in the visa line. Originally I was thinking about securing visa online but somehow dropped an idea to no regrets as it was simple and easy to get one, I had 1 passport photo on me and 30$ ready and had visa sticker in my passport in no time , in fact I was waiting still for my luggage after I passed an immigration. While still at home I contacted my hotel , booked as River Queen, in meantime changed ownership and name to 84 Hotel about airport transfer and was promised somebody will be waiting for me and in fact he was. Very handsome young man in a bit tattered jeans and I liked the sexy view of his knees poking out of the fashionable holes. Transfer was supposed to be 8 $ but I gave him 10 , 1 extra $ for each knee I guess. I told him that I may need his tuk–tuk over the following week as my sightseeing plans were extensive but stupidly did not mention that I like him to wear the same jeans losing sight of his sexy knees forever. I booked originally their penthouse suite, why not at 24 $ but it turned out that previous occupants trashed it out and for a day I was given regular room which I did not see any problem with until I turned A/C on. It was very noisy so complained immediately and I was positively surprised with reaction, owner was called , informed that despite day being Sunday repairman is called over and before I managed to take shower I had knock to my door. I left them to do the job and went to survey the city after 15 years of being away. First nice surprise was that Blue Hatha massage was few minutes walk from hotel, noted but not yet visited. Old Market area was much more lively than I remembered, Pub Street in now really Walking Street without the hookers like Numazu observed in his epic trip report . Much less beggars, much more tourists, and divisions of tuk –tuk drivers offering their vehicles. Since I was in different part of city than previously I went to check hotel I was staying before / Yaklom / and to see if I can find Man hotel and massage which is roughly in the same area. Yaklom is now defunct, nice bungalows are still there but closed and abandoned but adjacent restaurant , very popular then is still running and popular as shortly after I sat down 2 tour groups appeared . I had my supper, gulped big bottle of Angkor beer , paid 5$ , actually I was overcharged but let them have it. My total bill was supposed to be 16000 riel which is 4 $. It is being said that Cambodia has dual currency system but I wouldn’t say that. Dual currency implies that some bills must be settled in one currency instead of other but they simply a using USD notes for settlements exchanging freely riels at 4000/$. Only case when only USD were acceptable was payment for visa but it makes sense as riels can’t be taken out of country but internally are fully convertible at least for amounts we tourists are paying. Thus is price is posted as 20000 riels/5 $ / nobody blinks an eye if you give them 12000 riels and 2 $. Conversely, price posted as 10 $ can be settled with say , 6 $ and 16000 riels . I was doing that all the time but was glad I took 47$ in Washington notes left over from last year’s trip to Ethiopia to make payments easy. Sorry about lengthy money rant but I think it may be useful for some readers planning trip to the country. ATM are dispensing USD including new and crispy 100 notes but as always and everywhere I’d not advise to arrive without any folding money counting on ATM as system failure may have you stuck without any cash and counting on tuk-tuk drivers or even cheaper hotels to accept credit cards is a stretch. As for Men I did not find it in the night darkness , learned on another day that I was in the right soi called on google maps Man Str / I did not see any street name in that soi / but just turned back a little too early. Their loss as I’d take massage there definitely. To get back to Old Market / Psar Chas / area where I’m staying I just waved down passing guy on a motorcycle , told him Psar Chas , he answered 1 dollar and 5 minutes , 4000 riels later I was there. Walked to a hotel to find A/C repaired and exhausted with last night late adventures and busy day today I went to bed quite early today, alone which convicted me I’m not in Thailand anymore. So day 3 was over. -
where's your problem? in the afternoon go for a massage by the monster, have a dinner and after as a pillow take Cambodian and his big cock . I concur your observation about shows at XBoys being sometimes too long. I wonder when boys will have a time to show themselves to a prospective clients? I like Jupiter's approach when show is broken with few minutes of boys parading on the stage , such a break seems to produce quite a few offs.

Not only. From my city we have 2 flights a day with Cathay Pacific, first past noon and another past midnight, sometimes price difference between those two are in range of 200-300 $ on the same dates ! Guess which one I'm taking?

Day 2 Happy but also somewhat disappointed I started my day with breakfast at Foodland , Patpong then upon return to the hotel I had my coffee there and decided to check how Grand Palace are is doing now when nation is grieving or at least pretending to. BTS to Sahpan Taksin, really crowded boat to the palace pier and there for a change millions of tourists are replaced by millions of black clad Thais waiting in orderly columns to go inside and pay their respects. I noticed that free water and tasty looking dishes are distributed here and there, even I was offered one but politely declined not wanting somebody to miss a meal just because my curiosity. At one point somebody pointed disapprovingly at my knee long shorts even if it was just a street , I did not try to go inside of Palace grounds. Returned the same way , disembarked on Chong Nonsi BTS and you guessed right, went straight to Arena, along with Bangkok Massage soi Twilight and Senso my favorite massage place. Never disappointed , never mis-treated always leaving them happy and it was the same this time. Few boys knowing me from previous engagements –Dit , his brother Fai, Kao and mamasan Art welcomed me with open arms and wide smiles. They remember that I like beer so one was served immediately and 1.5 hr. session with Dit was taken right away. Great comfort to be back in familiar embraces, never drama , never requests for extra money or something. The same smiles which greeted me bade me farewell, Dit got his massage tip , other three boys red note each and I went down the stairs with feeling of leaving 7th heaven. Lazy afternoon as I still feel jet lagged , I said it before but with age I noticed that long flights are easier and easier to survive but jet lags are nastier and nastier. At 7.00 ChristianPFC dropped by and we went to Madrid Tavern in Patpong, only place in the world where I like pizza. Each of us ordered different one so we could share. Then time to do some bar survey as we always do when we meet and we settled on soi Twilight where of course paulsf was sitting on his usual throne at Hot Male beer bar surveying soi’s comings and goings. Of course we stopped for a chat and news exchange and then Christian and I decided to check show at XBoys. Bar was not very full for the show , few interesting boys on the stage but none of us took anybody home. At 11.30 Christian went his way and after shaking hands at curb on Silom I decided to go to Jupiter. Show was almost over and bar emptied after the show pretty quickly and at 11.45 only 5 boys were still presenting themselves on a stage including famous import from Tawan – Mekhin. I was quite seriously thinking about calling him over but some young Asian was faster and snatched him. In the past I did not have good experience with Jupiter boys and mentally I’m not even thinking about offing anybody but looking at the stage I thought I should give them a try once more and do it soon. Particularly #42 took my fancy , well built but foremost I like his face. Soon did not mean today so I went to Screwboys to see their 1 a.m. show. Mamasan there recognized me right away and she still remembered that 2 years ago I was big fan of their boy One, my best off ever and as always ever since she proclaimed that he is gone for good but suggested I stay for the show because I will like it. In meantime I noticed that I may like #7 smiling from the stage. Show had usual numbers , highlight being full f…k show with participants circulating audience for a tips, both pretty easy on the eyes. After show I was looking for #7 to take home but he disappeared somewhere and not willing to spend rest of night in a cold bed I settled for another smiling twink #11, Yoyo, Vietnamese boy. Of course as soon as we sealed deal, #7 appeared but it was too late. Late night dinner and we hit the sheets. No fireworks but not disappointment either so it looks that after June’s trip Tawan monodiet I start enjoying being butterfly again. I was happy that my second and for time being last night in BKK turned to be fun filled and enjoyable. So day 2 finished with me smiling and singing. -

Any Feedback on the Raya Hotel on Surawaong Road?

At least Malaysia may justify it by their very low room rates but reports are that much more upscale hotels are charging for internet access. -
nobody asked me for return ticked when I landed on Dec 2 nd

not a danger for me as I always take bookings for 2 people just in case, in Thailand I don't like to sleep alone -

not necessary, do not try to spoil your fun by watching clock but I generally tell them that long time is till breakfast and I'm not a late sleeper. If for whatever reason you want boy to stay till 10 I'd clear it with him as he may have daytime commitments i.e. taking kids to a school. -

never saw any insects there and only problem I ever had at Nantra was refrigerator smelling durian once. 20$ room they call 'economy' and has single bed and no window, good enough for twink lovers but for me being fan of bigger men single bed is bit too narrow -

they can have it and keep till my next appearance there as my visit on the first night was my only one this trip. I agree and credit xiluzer from this forum for introducing this hotel to me. Like you, I liked Om Yim as long as toilets were flushing there but at one point maintenance there became a serious problem -

it is logic and to some extend works that way but I gladly need to state that it's far from universal. This was not a first time when Tawan boys tried to up their tip from me but I offed so many of them and quite a few took what i offered without even blinking an eye and saying that this or that boy got more from me. I think greed is taking better of some but not all. Good example is Od #14 , offed at least 8 times and I never had any conversation about money with him. -

He is good guy but unfortunately for both of us , too possessive. l, like you, find both tactics of-putting specially as we will see in few days boys instead of competing may be co-operating creating fun in the process and better income stream. Not to keep too much in suspense , I offed boy from another bar and he asked me to take his friend as well, few days later another boy who could't give me long time after short time was over lead me to his friend from bar suggesting that he will take good care of me and he did. Full stories in due course. I don't mind paying as long as I get my money's worth but some things are spoilers for me , among them boy telling me when our time together is over, big no, no. as far as off is concerned for me he is close to the top and we always had good chemistry but when I sense I'm being milked it's when fun stops on my side. I don't mind boys trying to get the best of deal but if customer is well known to them better tactics is to restrain demands than escalate them. It's different story with client which is new and may never show up again and different with somebody with proven track record of stepping in and offing from the bar night after night .At least this is what I'd think. -

me? no, I don't boost my self -esteem by staying in high ends, rather spent money on boys than capitalists owning chain hotels, LOL Usually every trip I treat myself with 2-3 nights in Tarntawan or Raya and even there only if I manage to catch a good deal- it was a case with Raya in Jun this year. Otherwise Nantra,. Malaysia, On Yim /now changed name and become hostel / , Pavillion Place or Take -a-nap are good enough for me with BBB Inn being top of luxury line as far as I'm concerned. -
Actually I agree with you re: tip left , if was way too much just for a massage , I guess before I went there I was expecting and prepare to pay for more. On another hand it would be beautiful world if our well being on retirement depended on paying right amount of tip for massage so I gladly let him to have that 20$ extra as most effective way for me to save money would be just not going for that massage for purpose of this research or even better, stay home.
