  1. A thread that just cries out for updates (especially as I am now only a few days away from being able to check these out for myself), Finnseventy's report from Nice Boys and Power Boys was, shall we say, 'inspiring', as I have yet to visit either bar, and I am discovering that almost half my 'bucket list' seems to currently be working across these two bars. ...... And yes I will report back myself later LOL
  2. All being well, by this time next week my plane should be approaching Thailand for the start of a three week holiday in Pattaya (mostly). [15th August to 5th September] Over the following 20 days I plan to slowly distribute my baht amongst the deserving poor of Sunee Plaza, Jomtien Complex and, of course, Boyztown. I would be delighted to meet any fellow Board Members, either resident, or fellow travellers who are in town, for a drink and a chat. Compared to most of you guys I am still relatively new to this side of town and would be grateful for any tips and advice. If anyone is interested, please either reply here or send me a PM and we will arrange means of contact on the ground. The first beer will be on me of course LOL
  3. Wouldn't bother with a torch, half the fun is in feeling your way around .....LOL
  4. The on-line apps are convenient and if all you want is straight (sic) sex, that's fine, However, on-line you get a few photographs (some older than others, some quiety photoshopped (the girls do it all the time)), and then there is a knock on the door and there they are, come to earn money from you. Are they what you hoped for?, are they anything like what you hoped for?, but while you are thinking that there they are getting undressed in your room ...... The advantages of a bar is that you get a better chance to see what you are getting (and in some bars to be able to see exactly what you are getting! LOL). You get a chance to share a drink with them, to talk with them as best as language allows, you get a chance to see if there is any 'connection' between you. If they are touchy-feely with you, better yet if they kiss, you can start to feel more confident that any time spent up in your room with them will be worth the baht. If the connection is not there, if the vibes are not good, you can back out after the first drink with no loss of face either way. But once they are undressing in your room that moment has already passed, for good or bad. Actually I do both, but the barfines I take from bars are more lilkely to end up being repeats, wheras the callers to my door tend to be more hit-and-miss.
  5. I don't carry my passport with me when out and about, instead I have two laminated credit-card sized reductions that I had made in the Big C a few years ago - one for each wallet. I usually have two wallets/purses, one smaller, thinner one deep in a front pocket where hopefully I could feel anyone (who shouldn't be) fishing around in there. I keep an older, fatter purse, with my coins and smalle notes (100 baht and below), always looks a lot but rarely more than 1k baht in total. That I put in a back pocket looking deliberately 'visible'. If anyone is out to pickpocket me I would be hoping that pick on this one first - if I loose it then its inconveneient but minimal financial loss. I only take bank cards with me when I go to the ATM, and then I usually bring it straight back to the hotel where I stash it, and much of the cash in the room safe. During the day I might have 5-6k baht on me, but I might up that to 10k at night - not that I have the intention of spending that much at all, but you never know, for good or bad, if you might need it. If I have room in a pocket, I try and take a small plastic bag, bank coin bag size, with a couple of condoms and a couple of sachets of lube inside, again, you never knw if you might need it LOL Oh yes and a couple of hotel cards - if anything happens to me they will at least know where to take me LOL. Last, but oh so important, and taking up no room at all, I take my smile! Always appreciated and its surprising just how many farang seem to forget theirs LOL
  6. Every bar will set its own barfine/off fee, 300-400 sounds about average, but they may want more if you lad works in the show for example. In terms of tips, I have paid anything from 1,000 to 2,000 baht for a short time and 2,000 to 3,000 for long time. Others can find cheaper, and others will pay more to get the particular lad they have been after from a popular bar. But even if you end up paying over the odds in order to have an amazing night with the lad of your dreams, I can guarantee that you will be recalling happy memories of that night long after you have forgotten how much it cost you! LOL
  7. My No. 1 favourite boy, Vit, works at Scandic so I am a frequent visitor. Yes its a basic 1,500 baht entry charge for 'massage and sex with boy' as whoever is acting as receptionist usually says. Vit tells me that he gets half of that, with the shop keeping the other half. So it is intended as an 'all-in' charge so to speak; you pay at the desk and don't have to pay your boy any more. In practice, as I not only adore VIt, but adore what he does to me, I invariably privately tip him another 500 baht. When I first started doing that it certainly wasn't expected (although the little bugger probably expects it now LOL). No idea if others do that for their lads or not. As an aside, seeing Vit outside Scandic, thinking him unbelievably sexy, and being led nervously inside by him and up to the massage rooms for 'massage and sex with boy', provided me with my first ever gay experience in Pattaya. Several years later, having left a semen trail though Boyztown, Sunee and Jomtien, I can safely say that it's all Vit's fault! LOL And I still find him unbelievably sexy
  8. Haha, yes I get the Papa bit now, especially with some of the Soi 6 girls. It gets worse of course when try and hep you up the small step into their bar and then go and get a chair for you! LOL Worse still when your stretched out on the bed and your boy/girl automatically just climb on top - well actually that's not so bad I suppose, but it is just that they have assumed I am of an age where they are going to have to do all the work LOL
  9. In my experience, and others may have a different POV, is that most Thai's divide the worlds population into two unequal parts: Thai and non-Thai. LOL And sadly it is as simple as that - but we still love them!
  10. Why indeed? My comment was just an observation - however if I was being really cynical I might suggest that there is far far less work for them to do if its suicide?
  11. With a farang death if there is any conceivable way of getting away with calling it suicide or natural causes, or accidental death - no matter how far fetched - you can bet that will be the official judgement.
  12. The joys of low season - entering a small bar or agogo and being the only customer, and the hopeful eyes of every lad following your every movement. I always feel so guilty - no reason why I should - i just do. So yes either pick a boy or two for a drink, or give small tips to everyone. Good to have such a range to choose from of course (assuming you are there to choose and not just chill), but give me a crowded room and the opportunity to sit quietly in a corner - for a while at least LOL
  13. I don't really see any difference between offing gay or non gay gays in the world of P4P. Ok not so many straight guys bottom, but even the gay guys generally they go with us just for the money, not because they find us sexually exciting. Same for the girls, their idea of an ideal sexual partner is some hot young Thai boy, not some fat old farang like me. Boy or girl (or LB), they have sex with us for the money, its that simple. Unless your guy is different of course LOL Doesn't mean that they can't grow to like you or be friends with you, but in your absence I bet they don't exactly 'knock one out' while staring at a picture of you on their bedroom wall - gay or straight. They are there working because they want to make $ and most will do what it takes to get top $ LOL

    The 13

And therein lies a conundrum for the authorities, the rescue attempt focussed the spotlight of world media attention. The boys will inevitably remain of considerable media interest for the immediate future at least, maybe beyond if block-buster movies are made. How will the authorities deal with that because the status of the boys will inevitably be a factor, especially if there is any talk of travel for them (no passports).
  15. They are so easy to fall in love with - my problem is falling in love with just the one! LOL

    The 13

Throughout all this Thai cartoonists have been capturing the mood, this last one show the wild boars with the diver Saman Guman who lost his life during the rescue. I cracked like an egg this morning when I saw this.
  17. Well I have picked my two out
  18. Mate you need to rent this guy out to the rest of us - you could crowd-fund your next trip! I will be there, all being well, in 5 weeks - hint! hint! LOL

    The 13

Its the result we had all hoped and prayed for but never really thought was achievable given that most, if not all, the boys could not swim yet alone dive, and to go through such a grueling and testing extraction after so many days of starvation in uncomfortable darkness, unsure if the world was even aware of their plight. The rescue effort was amazing and inspiring (sadly with loss of life) and a true international collaboration with the Thai authorities who, perhaps rather surprisingly, opened their arms to the help offered. This is the stuff of future block-buster movies I suspect. The whole thing has been an emotional roller-coaster and box of tissues next to my computer has become severely depleted over the last couple of days (and not for the purpose for which they had originally been bought either! LOL)
  20. If I really fancy a lad then I will work with whatever I discover within his pants - even if its on the small side. But oh the joy when you find that you have got yourself a two-hander! Have you ventured into Jomtien yet?

    The 13

We can but wait, I was glued to the news reports for much of yesterday once I heard that the rescue operation had begun. Guess I will be today as well now - my boss is going to love me! LOL Yes I saw in the BKK Post that the coach was one of the first four because of his weakened state. There will no doubt be much more to come out on his role - but everything so far suggests he has played a key role in the survival of those kids for so many days before help came. The bravery of the kids, the bravery of the rescue teams are all to be wondered at and celebrated: lets just hope that the remaining kids are all bought out safely.
  22. Trust me, they are perfectly capable of getting drunk in Pattaya too! LOL
  23. To twist an old phrase 'a cock in the hand is worth two in the bush' LOL
  24. The boys (& girls) start to vet us from the moment we walk in to their bar. Our manner, confidence, smile, etc. Then if they join us they will have assessed our basic cleanliness and dress before we have even opened our mouths. Then the seemingly inane questions - what your name?, where you from?, where you stay?, how long you stay? (first time in Thailand?). They have effectively profiled us before we have stopped staring at their smile/body/bulge LOL And that would be true of all nationalities they come across (or eventually cum across LOL). I have friends of all nationalities now in Pattaya and I would say that we should be very careful of any racial profiling. One of the most generous and free spending guys I have ever met in Pattaya was an arab - he could drop more money in one night in an agogo than I would have available to spend all holiday.
  25. Hey its all good from where I am sitting - some useful advice on tipping and when, Also the prospect of enjoying in-bar fun here will have me visiting this place for sure on my next trip. Like vinapu not only do I tip the boys sitting with me when I leave - but if I have a spare 100 baht I will tip another boy as I leave as well - not always the best looking one - sometime its just one of the ones at the back at random - an unexpected tip usually brings a smile to their face.
