The classic example of this, for me, is Tao from Eros (or sometimes Toy Boys). Over the years he has had a succession of often quite stunning girlfriends, some agogo girls. I have done it several times, and mostly it is when I have been into a bar with someone else as my LT for the night and we have got chatting with someone I know who has asked if I can barfine him to come with us for drinks/dancing/etc. but not (well occasionally) come back to the room with us. The boy who I have done this most often with is Tao from Eros Bar/Toy Boys, who has been one of my regulars for several trips now, who will often ask if he can accompany us - barfine there is cheap anyhow, and he is great company, he seems to get on with everyone, dances, flirts and his English is fairly good. I have never heard it referred to as anything other than the Jomtien Complex. And actually, in terms of its intensity of bars, I would have thought its parallel was more Soi 6 than Walking Street?

There is one bar I know of in Jomtien staffed mainly by Cambodian boys and with a Cambodian boy as boss. Many of the lads there are from the same part of Cambodia, several from the same village/town and so their bar becomes a home from home for them where they can venture into bar work in familiar surroundings, language and culture. Some speak Thai well, others, especially the newer ones, struggle. Other Cambodians work massage, both straight shops and 'extras' shops. I know a boy/girl couple in a longstanding relationship who have worked in one shop together for several years now. Together they do quite well, have a day off a week to relax and go out together as a couple, and also save for visits back home a couple of times a year. They seem happy and are 'doing ok'. Some bars and agogos advertise their staff as being 'only Thai', but in many others Thai boys mix with boys from Laos and Cambodia (not so much Vietnam) in apparent harmony. FaceBook and other social media now allow all these boys to keep in daily contact with friends and family.

Some of my Thai friends have been posting and sharing further pictures on Facebook of these two doing the same in other venues - along with very angry comments. So word is definitely out.

Maybe its my wry sense of humour - but I smiled at the 5 Euro note tip at the end. For my part I thought you handled and diffused an awkward situation well and with good grace.

When I am negotiating with a lad and talking about Long Time and how much, I make it clear that I want sex at night and again in the morning.
