Gay rights progress, but same-sex relations still a crime in 69 nations: report
spoon replied to a topic in Gay Thailand
I can add on malaysia, even though the law criminalizing same sex relationship actually in our law, which has been inherited from UK law, it has rarely been enforced, except for the infamous political scandal of 1998. However, under much lower tier religious state law, there has been some form of enforcement occuring ocassionally, mainly targetting those who do it in public, or based on reports from community, and this is limited to very low fine and jail time, if any. There are however plenth of raids on massage centers, legal or illegal, but most of the time, no charges for the locals since the raids are mainly targetting foreigners who abuse their social visit pass or overstayed their visa to work. Anyway, yes, as long as its not in the open, most people couldnt care less what we do in our bedroom here. Go to any big shopping malls and u can see trans and gays openly dressed as they like and even employed as sales person especially in cosmetic and perfume section. Of course politician has always use lgbt issues as their weapon to get support. Sad but it could be worse. -
Wow, for a high end, private live sex show, only usd90? Thats a tell-tale of a scam, too good to be true. Maximum 2 spectator only, paying usd90, thats usd180, and the performers were promised usd100 per hour, up to 4 performer a show? The math didnt add up. Not to mention the price of 4-5 star hotel where to show is happening.

Tul just updated on his social media that he is suffering from bell palsy and in need of rest. Wish him speedy recovery. He posted his pic trying to smile but half of his face is paralyzed with a caption "I'm seriously rocking it. Smile for a better day." Had a friend before that got this before and it is curable. Main suspect is stress.

When will Thailand open to Tourists- question/speculation?
spoon replied to floridarob's topic in The Beer Bar
Cabinet approved STV for all No more country specific restriction. So apart from quarantine requirements, thailand is basically open for all. -
If we go to straight strip club for women and all the gogo dancer rushed to the gays? Yeah i bet they will feel the same way. Having said that, i dont mind what gender comes to the bar. I do mind if the man i wanted suddenly grabbed by someone else, regardless of gender lol

I recalled one of the place they gather for protest was near the kasetsart university, which is pretty close to this area. Perhaps they were on standby for potential protest.

I tip more than 20baht anyway even with bag smaller than 26inch. I guess this is to ensure taxi driver will get some form of tips from those who didnt tip.

Like a baseball? I could only imagine how it looks like. I can understand their desire to make it bigger though, especially when you work in the sex industry. But i guess they dont understand how it could go wrong if not done properly, at a proper hospital. Ive asked one guy that had weird dick shape too, and he said it was a result of overused dick pump.

I had my memory mixed up. Ive watched the volleyball one and also enjoy the badminton one. The one after that is the boring one lol. Yup, enjoyed the volleyball one the most.

Ive watched the badminton series, but the second one, archery was a bit boring. I guess i should watch the volleyball one instead. Lol

I can understand if the opposition cries about election fraud, especially when the ruling gov has been in power for far too long. But a ruling gov cries election fraud when they lost, to be honest is really weird. How did the opposition have such power to commit those fraud when they dont hold any position?

I guess thailand already have big gay events (gcircuit songkran) that had so many gays comes during songkran, for either the free songkran "parade" or the gcircuit party and many other private event party. I guess this is very unique to thailand and i dont see local have issues to join the party/crowd. And of course another hugely successful white party gcircuit events too. Thailand night not hold the traditional pride but certainly not short of gay related events to attract those pink dollars.

For the mail in vote, some of the point i can think of about why they allow fornit to be pass polling day, as long as its postmarked by polling day, is to give equal time for campaigner to finished their debate, so all voters have all the information available to them at the same time, and given the same time to make their decision on who they are voting. The presidential debate was done up to only few days before polling, so for the undecided, they need to see both sides of argument before they decided who theyll vote. If you required them to submit their vote before each candidates finished their debate, then you are forcing the mail in voter to vote early without getting the same exposure than those who voted on polling day. It wont matter much for voters who already know who theyll vote though.

When will Thailand open to Tourists- question/speculation?
spoon replied to floridarob's topic in The Beer Bar
Yup, but i think they are not expecting everyone to spend that much, just expecting everyone who apply to have at least that much untouched for 6month hehe. The one that restriced me is still the length of stay, so until then, ill patiently wait. -
Abomb closed already?

60-90 days staying in thailand is by no means mass tourism yet. I guess their aim are more to those who either retired, or rich enough to be able to take off 2-3 months for holiday. How they came up with that amount, who knows haha. Simple calculation dividing by 90days is about 5.5k baht per day. Surely that fits your budget? @vinapu Although if i were to stay there for 60-90 days, id probably wont be spending that much everyday lol. For a 1-2 weeks vacation id probably spent more than that a day. -

Only usd16k in bank? Thats not unreasonable at all. -
I mean i understand the issue, just perplexed that with all the modern technology advancement, we still cant figure it out. Although my quick search on google did found that certain state in US has already do some trials. On the point of fraud allegations, the same kind of argument can be used for mail in ballot as well. I guess its not the technology that is the issue but more so the resistance to change what is working. Apparently, Estonia did have online voting for their election. https://www.euronews.com/amp/2020/11/02/why-don-t-more-nations-hold-elections-online-here-s-how-estonia-has-been-a-lone-trailblaze

Worth to mention US did double pricing of epic proportion for international student tuition fee vs local too, mostly double or triple of what local pays.
-
Malaysia also have this dual pricing in a very limited attraction (i can only recall a few, for eg. the twin tower skybridge visit, penang bukit bendera) and the "excuses" is to encourage more locals to go to these places multiple times. To be fair, these facilities owned by gov and tax payer does support the cost of building them and the upkeep too. I can close one eye for dual pricing if the difference is not huge. Free vs 100 baht at wat/temples is fine for me. To be honest, if u go to these bars, you will end up spending more than 500 anyway, so no issues to me either. What itll do is kept away non-paying foreign customer? Its not as bad as what happened in Japan where some bars totally not allowed any foreigner to enter regardless of entry price. There is also a sauna in hongkong that only allow hunks/in shape foreigner to enter, while much more lenient with locals. I guess if you disagree with the practice, vote with your money and spend it somewhere else.
