The three other cases were more recent — a 64-year-old Japanese man, a 21-year-old Thai male student and a 44-year-old Thai man. The 64-year-old was Covid-19 patient No.730 in Japan. The general manager of a company in Bang Na district of Bangkok, he was living alone at a condominium in the Sukhumvit area. He had earlier travelled abroad in January. On Aug 17, he went to stay at a hotel in the Sukhumvit area and then left for Japan on Aug 20. A saliva test on his arrival at Haneda airport was positive for Covid-19. The 21-year-old student was patient No.770 in Japan. He lived in Khlong Sam Wa district of Bangkok and went to Japan to continue his studies. He tested negative at Ramathibodi Hospital on Aug 27 before flying to Japan. He arrived in Japan on Aug 29 and a saliva test there was positive. The third case, the 44-year-old Thai man, was patient No.790 in Japan. He lived in Suwannaphum district of Roi Et province and went to Japan every three months to buy auto parts. He flew to Japan on Sept 1 and a saliva test on arrival was positive for Covid-19, Dr Suwannachai said. He tested negative on Aug 28 or 29 before leaving for Japan with a friend.

Link Several Thai League football matches have been postponed indefinitely after an Uzbekistan football player at Buriram United tested positive for the coronavirus despite being released after fulfilling the 14-day state quarantine. The Department of Disease Control (DDC) says the infected player Akbar Ismatullaev arrived in Thailand on Aug 11, produced a health certificate showing he did not have Covid-19 and was placed in 14-day quarantine at Anantara Riverside Hotel in Bangkok. He left on Aug 27 and was driven to a team camp in Buri Ram province with no stops on the way. He trained with his teammates from Aug 28-Sept 9 and also attended a game between Ratchaburi Mitr Phol and Khon Kaen United at Chang Arena in Buri Ram. He and his team flew with Thai AirAsia to Samut Prakan on Thursday and because the government's Covid-19 health measures require all players to be tested before every game the player was retested. The new swab found on Thursday that he was, in fact, infected with the virus. Authorities are now investigating where and when he contracted the virus. Yong Poovorawan, head of the Centre of Excellence in Clinical Virology at the Faculty of Medicine of Chulalongkorn University, said it was highly likely the virus was imported from Uzbekistan, even though he returned a negative test before his departure.

To add to this and maybe why the gov decided to start the complete block of entry from high risk nation. Yesterday we had 65 new cases, and today 100 new cases. Two clusters are mainly responsible for this new spike. One originated from the jail where it is believed started from a detainee (illegals from philiphine) tested positive and now has infected most of the detainees and officers. Second one is a new cluster that happened in a state where a lot of new clusters found recently, all believed to have indirect link to a person coming back from india (with work permit) and break the 14 days home quarantine (the mistake the gov made i mentioned in earlier post mainly due to lack of enforcement for the home quarantine). He actually owned a restaurant and have been working/serving customers.

When i was in hua hin before, i got a massage session at our hotel and the masseur is obviously gay. Not my type, so i didnt engage further but im pretty sure many members might find him attractive. Its not impossible. Greece, Argentina and i bet many more had this happened. When a country in default, thats what happened. The bank freezes all withdrawal, so even if you have money, no way to access it. I remember before this Myanmar was the same case, as my colleague who worked there had to bring cash from malaysia to myanmar as our company cannot pay their salary over there. Im pretty sure similar or worse things happened in war-stricken nation too. Now, will it happened to thailand? Who knows...

And im sure vaccine will also add to the confusion of the test reliability. Though ive read vaccine progresses are encouraging.

Agreed with all what u said. This ban is really another political moves to gain support from the people, to show that gov is doing something. Eventhough we have daily cases here, but it is still within below 20 daily, and often local transmissions are in single digit. We had a bump in new cases recently due to the gov decision to allow home quarantine instead of at state quarantine center or hotel, so i take it that this move is to compensate that mistake. And we had few local lockdown too and for the first time since the outbreak, compulsory mask wearing in crowded places, public transport and anywhere social distancing is impossible. Either way, our border is closed to all tourists until end of year anyway. Im sad at this new restriction for a purely selfish reason lol. My favorite MBs here are from indonesia lol

To be fair, i know one boy that did stop working at the bar due to being sponsor by his farang customer. I heard from the boy himself, and confirmed by some other people who told me the boy disappear from the scene for quite sometimes. Anyway, the farang BF comes once a month for a week or so, and gave the boy monthly allowance that is good enough that the boy doesnt really have to work. Anyway, the arrangement ended, not sure why, and boy is back in bar. Lucky for me that now the boy is available lol

Finally a more practical solution instead of the overly ambitious impractical canal. It certainly is a compromise though. Having to unload and load the ship might add to the time that might make journey by ship the normal way more convenient. But any alternatives is good and this project will help more people in the long run. I wonder where this land bridge will be constructed?
