Another thing i might want to add, the korean king at that time wanted the poor and slaves to be able to read and learn too. However, chinese characters are only accessible to the nobles, and even then, they are not able to properly represent all the sounds made by korean language. Of course, its not so easy to learn and memorize thousands of characters too. Thats why i had high respect to anyone who are able to learn chinese characters as second language. Granted there are basic characters that are easy, and have meanings directly related to the shape. Thai script to me definitely looks like sanskrit/hindi script. So is myanmar's script and to some extend, i believe laos and cambodia too. Malay used to be written using script adopted from arabic. Vietnam on the other hand seems to have came out with their own version of the roman alphabet. Interesting how spoken language and written script somehow got influenced very differently.

Not many actually documented how they came up with the alphabets. I believe korean script is quite new, and there is a detail historical records on how the king and the scholars came up with the writting since chinese language dont really have alphabets but rather symbols or combination of symbols. There are few historical korean drama based on this event too.

There are ways to sort them out i supposed, especially if they have virus before, they have tested positive before and have receive treatement. Just show their previous virus/treatment document. Similarly for vaccine too. Eitherway, the test is not 100% accurate, but it is a way to reduce the chances, perhaps enough to make everyone comfortable to travel.

This topic does interest me a lot too. Being a bilingual myself, and studying two other languages in high school and university, learning the differences between languages is fun. I also helplessly trying to venture few more languages but learning languages does requires a lot of effort and times. English with their tenses and pronounciation, malay with the prefix/suffix, french with their conjugation and word gender, arabic with their jointed script and gender (quite diff than french), now thai (chinese, vietnamese as well) and the tones. Korean alphabet is also very interesting as it is clearly man-made and well documented too. Maybe when i have more time, id start to learn thai lol. There is obvious advantage of knowing the language that might greatly improve my experience there so motivation is there lol

Making prostitution legal have huge impact to both the sex worker and their client. They can be protected under the employment act law, received benefits such as medical insurance, and i guess would require to pay tax and contribute to pension plan if there is any. Erm thats pretty much a giveaway. What the gov need is to train more locals teachers. Perhaps hiring experienced esl teachers to train local teachers would be better. Of course if there is a serious effort, there need to be attractive compensation packages to attract locals too. Some of the neighbouring countries even sponsors some locals to study in the western countries and returned to teach.

I might be biased to my own experience, but local teachers have insight to teaching locals better than any native speakers, simply because they know and speak both languages and can explain better to the locals. I assume any native english teachers wanted to work in thailand would have to learn the thai language too for them to be great at teaching the locals, but is it a requirement?

The only way to justify teaching overseas with lower salary is you already wanted to go to the country in the first place. And i believe thai gov are banking on this too. That the country is offering much more than salary. Thus, u cant expect that they will get highly experience and great teachers coming to thailand. There might be few that are good and wanted to migrate and live in thailand already, but what the gov is offering own its own will not attract great teachers. In fact, its probably trying to get a well to do native speakers to have an adventure in thailand, spending money in the country.

Benefits, its a way of staying in thailand, with additional income. If you already have a steady passive income or freelance jobs and not qualify for retirement visa yet, or dont want to dump money on the elite visa, this might be an attractive option. U also get to improve/learn thai language, andnall the benefits of being a teacher i guess. If you already habr a good full time job back home, this might not be for you. But if you are thinking of moving to thailand, have boyfriend in thailand, this might be another way to stay in thailand.

Native speakers, so i didnt qualify lol. Over here in malaysia, this line of work is not very popular at all, maybe only limited to private institution (international schools). Most english teacher in malaysia nowadays did their degree in malaysia, but some did their degrees overseas too, sponsored by the goverment.

The more accurate test is swab test aka pcr lab test. But that requires time to get the result, and not cheap. Rapid test kit have a lower accuracy but cheap and fast, thus being used more widely.
