  1. Cabinet backs bill allowing same-sex unions The cabinet on Wednesday endorsed a bill permitting partnership registration of same-sex unions, along with legal amendments to ensure they have most, if not all, the same rights as married couples. The bill and the amendments will now be put to a vote in the House. Parliament will set up a subcommittee to work on the draft before it goes to the floor for debate. Deputy government spokeswoman Ratchada Dhnadirek said the new Civil Partnership Bill and the amendments to the Civil and Commercial Code would ensure fairness for people of all genders. The bill is an important step for Thai society in promoting equality among people of all genders, she added. The bill defines civil partners as couples born with the same sex. Partnership registration will be available to consenting same-sex couples who are at least 17 years old. One or both of the couple must be of Thai nationality.
  2. I guess they are thinking of the case where local hospital is overwhelm like what happened previously in italy, where all icu bed and occupied and hospital has been declining admission. But again, it is only practical if its life or death situation as i agree with yoh the logistic is a nightmare
  3. Well, not all scheduled flight will fly too. Many have been cancelling and rescheduling their flight during this covid period, so having plenty of options for customers to choose has its advantage in terms of getting people to buy flight tickets. And they are a lot of people that is still travelling for work, at least few of my coleagues and those i followed their IG did fly very recently. (One goes to mexico transit via japan, another flying from philliphines to malaysia, and one guy flying from indonesia to hong kong). At least two of them shared that their flight have been cancelled and rescheduled too.
  4. I believed michael is saying he is putting 10x and not 10%. Thats 1000% more during low levels
  5. No need to say sorry. I am well aware of the intricate issues looming in many asia countries. Although id like to point out malaysia did the exact opposite of thailand during that period. Our currency was floating before the financial crisis 98, but our gov at that time did made few foreign investment mistakes here and there hence were implicated by similar events too. But the gov decided to tie the Ringgit to US at 1 USD = RM 3.8, right up to the 2009 US property bubble crisis, where tieing our currency to US doesnt make sense anymore. But it is much simpler and easier to blame it on one person and many here believed george soros is the culprit lol. Regardless, my initial point still holds, that the stock market and other type of speculative investment are easily manipulated by the rich, so that might be the plausible case in the US now. I might be wrong though.
  6. Amd citizens returning to their motherland
  7. Stock market index can be easily manipulated by the few rich brats. I still recall George Soros being the single person tied to the worst asia recession in 1998.
  8. While i agree they wont return to their pre-covid time, tourist from china and asia are way more dominant that both north america and europe combined. Thats why the gov cant wait to open their borders to chinese tourist first.
  9. Did u manage to take a peek on soi 4?
  10. Thinking about the logistic itself is a nightmare. All people involved in transporting the patients, who are obviously sick, will have to be in full PPE, the whole time they were with the patient. Putting 60 covid 19 patient that is sick enough to require hospitalization in a plane to travel for several hours, they need to consider their medication, food, and the very likely possibility that some patient requiring oxygen or ventilator midflight. Its simply easier to just have the patient stay put in their own country. Would be interesting to see though if anyone really went for this.
  11. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-travel-corridors#travel-corridors-countries-and-territories-exemption-list This is the list that doesnt include thailand.

  14. Word of caution though, airbnb or apartment rental is not legal in thailand for short term rental although enforcement on this is not so clear. Some people have no issues with airbnb but there are also cases that went to the court, especially on daily and weekly basis rental. One month might be ok but im not sure the clear law about this. Maybe other poster can pitch in on this.
  15. If this is correct and approved by august. Earliest for phase 3 will be october.
  16. You are right. Either the gov are afraid of their own shadow or they themselves dont believe their number. By right, after 28 days, u can declare that your country is clear of covid-19 and no need to deal with strict SOP any longer. No transmission at all for 28 days should mean no chance of transmission going to happen after. On the other hand, like mentioned before, thai did not do mass testing like korean do, so they might still local transmission that goes undetected especially among younger generation who typically asymptomatic. Another reason might be theybare gearing up to open the border and want the local to be accustomed to this new norm so when they foreign tourist comes with a possibility of a new outbreak, itll be contained. Change in behaviour is not easy, look at how bad the US is dealing with anti-mask freedom fighter.
  17. Droplets trajectory will go downward further away from source so they dont need the screen to be as high as the nose. Of course, a person with uncovered nose sneezing will project much further than what the screen can protect.
  18. I thought u gave him as a loan, so i supposed you should still be able to claim that money, maybe in terms of owed tips rather than cold cash lol pity that you blocked him though haha
  19. The latter.
  20. Tips about zing, ive tried 3 type of room there. The cheapest room is fine and adequate but for just a bit more, the upgraded room is much more convenient, spacious, and comes with a balcony. Ive tried the suite room on the ground floor facing pool, way too big and under furnished. Great to have multiple guys to hang out or orgy party though but for 2 person, it does feels all the space wasted lol but for the price, definitely worth it. Worth to note while booking that there are 2 zing hotels in jomtien, so choose one that is in the jomtien plaza closer to the beach. The other one are on the main road and far away from the scene.
  21. Think of tips dispensed is spending on yourself as well. You did spend tonrecieve something hehe.

  24. Singapore, Malaysia agree to allow cross-border travel for some residents and business travellers SINGAPORE: Singapore and Malaysia have agreed to allow cross-border travel for certain groups of people, including residents who hold long-term immigration passes for business and work purposes. This was discussed between Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his Malaysian counterpart Muhyiddin Yassin in a telephone call on Friday (Jun 26), said Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in a press statement on Saturday. The two leaders agreed to establish a Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) and a Periodic Commuting Arrangement (PCA) for different groups of travellers. The RGL will facilitate cross-border travel for essential business and official purposes. Travellers would have to adhere to a set of COVID-19 prevention and public health measures, said MFA, adding that the measures are being discussed and will have to be mutually agreed upon by both countries. The PCA, on the other hand, will allow Singapore and Malaysia residents who hold long-term immigration passes for business and work purposes in the other country to periodically return to their home countries for short-term home leave. "They will be able to return home for leave after spending at least three consecutive months in their country of work, and they will be allowed to re-enter their country of work after their home leave," MFA said. Mr Lee reiterated Singapore’s commitment to address the needs of Singaporeans and Malaysians who were commuting between both countries before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted travel. Both leaders agreed that any bilateral arrangement would have to include mutually agreed public health protocols, to preserve the public health and safety of citizens on both sides, while taking into account the medical resources available in both countries. MFA said Mr Lee and Mr Muhyiddin have tasked their officials to "work expeditiously" on the operational details of the RGL and PCA. Officials will also continue discussions on other proposals to gradually facilitate more cross-border movement of people, to ensure a stable recovery by both Singapore and Malaysia from the COVID-19 situation, the ministry added.
