  1. Initially I started visiting this forum after it was recommended to me by someone at COM when I posted questions there about Thailand travel. While I still come here for Thailand travel info, I really enjoy many of the various topics discussed. Everyone here is friendly and welcoming...and, of course, as @vinapu pointed out...handsome! I feel a real sense of belonging and camaraderie here that I have never felt at COM. It is an extremely toxic environment at COM.
  2. COM is not a Thailand forum. It is more of a general gay forum. It hasn't always been called COM...that was the name created when new ownership took over. It has been around in various forms for a very long time. I first joined that forum in the late 90's or early 2000's. Originally there were two sites...one was general gay community stuff and the other was a masseur/escort review site. It has been so long ago that I don't remember the original name of the forum. The previous owner from Las Vegas who passed away during COVID was called 'Daddy' and I believe the review site was actually called DaddiesReviews or something similar. The review portion of the site no longer exists as a separate site. They seemed to have been merged into one site. It was Hooboy who originally created the forum many, many years ago, not Daddy. Daddy took up the cause/forum when Hooboy passed away. His passing was unexpected and sudden, so no planning or thought had been given to continuation of the forum...who might take it over, what that might look like, etc. That would relate directly to @PeterRS question about the continuation of gayguides in the future. Do forums and chatrooms have a future? If so, what might that look like in 10 or 20 years.
  3. Also, if you are looking for a boyfriend and you have already learned he is a money boy, are you going to be able to handle that fact in a relationship. That could complicate things even more...your emotional well-being.
  4. Same here. Never really have been a club or bar person. When I was still in college I let a group of friends talk me into driving from Ohio to NYC for New Year's Eve in Times Square. I hated it. Far too crowded for me. Could barely move. Only other time I did anything similar was when a group of us went to the gay March on Washington. I cannot even recall what year that was...early 1990's? The march itself was fine as well as the rallies, but I avoided going to any of the clubs as I knew it would be wall to wall people.
  5. I agree. It is like you were reading my mind. If it were me, I would continue with the fantasy and see if a request for money comes up in the future. Sooner or later, if that is his real motivation that request will come. Believe me...I speak from experience...a very recent experience! lol.
  6. This is correct, and for me the site has become very toxic. I really don't enjoy visiting the site much any more. The owner who passed away lived in Las Vegas. The current 'owner' lives in Ft. Lauderdale, although he has put together a team of moderators/managers/co-owners....not sure what the exact arrangement is. As @unicorn said, under this current arrangement the rules seem to be selectively enforced, and it has become more of what @PeterRS refers to as a bitchboard. Originally I wasn't going to mention the actual name as I did not want to taint this board in any way. That forum does have a travel section, but nothing like this. I believe it was a member of this forum who also belongs to COM that recommended gayguides.com to me when I was asking questions about Thailand. So grateful for that recommendation, and very happy on this forum.
  7. of course...that goes without saying. Plus, this forum has the top notch, star stamp collector. No other forum could possibly compare.
  8. As much as I would like to forget about him...or at least try to forget...it is nearly impossible. Just when you think you have heard or seen it all, he comes out with some new nonsense. He lives in his own fantasy world which, unfortunately for the rest of us, is a nightmare.
  9. I wonder if there is any connection between the White Party taking place in Bangkok so the shops along Surawong may be busier than usual and most of the twinks already with customers?!? Just a thought...in addition to the fact it is considered high season as well as a holiday?
  10. I would need to go backwards around 50 years for me to be the least bit interested in attending such an event. Looks like everyone is having a grand time, but they also look way younger than me! Oh to be young again!
  11. Isn't this the case with most of the problems that exist in US today? lol. I have a t-shirt that says 'the opposite of Progress is Congress'!
  12. Thanks for the info. Does not look the least bit appealing to me. Actually, sounds quite dreadful. lol.
  13. When is White Party over? Perhaps once it is over places won't be as crowded and busy. Never really heard of it until this post, but am assuming it is one of the big gay circuit parties that are held numerous places around the world. Not something that would appeal to me, probably.
  14. lol. I can find any age and build in Denver, but no Asian boys. In Bangkok, Asian boys are my only interest. I didn't travel halfway around the world just to get what I can in my own backyard.
  15. I exchanged LINE with a couple of masseurs I really liked at shops I visited on this last trip, but we don't really message back and forth. The understanding when exchanging info was that I would get in touch with them directly the next time I was in Bangkok instead of going through the shop. I don't really plan to let them know in advance of my travel plans. I did exchange info with my grinder fellow who kept asking for financial support, so I ended up blocking him. My other special friend will only occasionally reach out for a chat maybe every couple of weeks. I am ok with that, as I really like him.
  16. I am a long time member of another gay forum going back probably 20+years. I was initially referred to that forum by my best friend. I am not nearly as active on that forum, mostly just reading general posts of interest, but it is certainly not as welcoming and friendly as this forum. There is a lot of passive/aggressive behavior and even outright aggressiveness on that forum, so I rarely post any comments. Since I joined that forum so many years ago, it has gone through a number of leadership/owner changes. I believe some members of this forum are also members there, so may know what I am talking about. What is interesting to me about that forum is there was an unexpected and unfortunate death of the owner due to COVID. Many members of that forum thought it was basically the end of the site, but several members banded together who had expertise and experience in computers, others offered financial support, and under new ownership and a slightly different leadership structure the site continues and thrives. I am much more active on this forum and often find myself checking it a couple of times each day looking forward to reading the posts. As I already mentioned, members here are much more positive, encouraging, and welcoming. I would hope if something ever happened to ownership of this site that something similar would transpire and we would continue in some way. It does seem that the majority of active participants are older...myself included.
  17. Sooner or later the US Postal Service is going to be forced to cut back on daily deliveries. Just this week I read an article that said they are $9 billion dollars in the red. They find themselves in a 'catch-22' situation. They have had a lucrative contract with Amazon for a number of years and Amazon has been trying to negotiate an extension of the current agreement for over a year. Amazon uses private and public delivery services, as well as their own trucks, depending on location. USPS has decided to put some delivery services up for auction, which was a surprise to Amazon. By doing so, the USPS is taking a huge risk that Amazon will take their business elsewhere which would cause even more financial difficulties. Kind of a no win situation for USPS. https://www.cnn.com/2025/12/24/business/usps-amazon-deal I don't see how USPS can realistically continue to provide delivery service to every household six days a week given the high cost of operating and the reduced volume. Just doesn't make good business sense. However, I also don't think they can completely eliminate the service like Denmark. I imagine there would be a huge public outcry if they tried to do that here.
  18. Sorry for the loss of life and the crash. I didn't think statements could get any dumber than those of trump and his lackeys...but this one certainly seems to 'trump' even some of their statements. (Sorry for the pun...couldn't resist.)
  19. Actually, if you go to the account where that link is posted on 'X' and scroll through some of the other posted videos online, Boss appears in a number of them. I checked some of them out and it gives you some idea of what his limits might be if hired. rubfin2rubfin @Rubfin2Rubfin
  20. Late to the conversation here. I believe Prestige has a second location now in Sukhumvit area. They have a mix of muscular and twinks, but no guarantee of full service. Depends on the masseur you select and what happens behind closed doors. In general, Prestige will tell you such things do not happen at their shop. lol. Also, although from their LINE daily updates it appears to be mostly twinks, isn't FaFa Massage & Spa in the Sukhumvit area as well?
  21. It has been fun reading the different perspectives from forum members who were able to connect. Sounds like a fun time was had by all. Am hoping there are some forum members in Bangkok during my upcoming seven week stay beginning in mid-February. Would love to actually meet, share life experiences, and put a face with a name. Happy you were able to connect with your hunks, but neither would be my type. Guess I am a die-hard fan of twinks. More muscular and hunky guys just don't do it for me.
  22. I found Taipei and Taiwan in general to be an interesting place to visit and spend time. It is probably more expensive than Bangkok as far as 'entertainment' goes, but perhaps not too much more.
  23. Thanks for sharing the videos with detailed information about the various jumps. My mother would always enjoy watching the figure skating competitions on television, both female and male, and I would always join her for some of it...mostly the males. Brings back fond memories of special times together. Never have been able to even stand up on ice skates, and certainly never understood the difference between the various jumps. Fascinating to learn more about it.
  24. Same here. A perfect specimen for me.
  25. The first image in this group looks AI generated to me. Does anyone else think that? Can't quite decide of the other two photos are the same person in different styles of underwear or two different individuals. In either case, one or both would be welcome in my bed anytime. Just the type I like!
