Wow. Brings back fond memories. Never been to that beach, but often went to the Beitou hot springs not far from there. Haven't thought about that place in ages. Certainly had some fun times there.

Same here. I had never used Grinder prior to my Thailand trip last October and had quite good luck with it. Have never tried Scruff, Jack'd, Hornet or any of the other sites, so really cannot compare success rate. Will definitely use Grinder again on my next trip. Individuals I met last time looked like photos and were as described. Just my experience, though.

So the name of the island is Samae San Island. Appears plans are progressing and will probably be in Pattaya the first week in March for around 10 days.

Thanks. I was questioning why they didn't provide any location info in that post. Probably best not to add that Line account. As for the twins, I've done four hands before a couple of times over the years and just don't enjoy the experience. I am sort of on sensory overload with two therapists at the same time. Prefer just to concentrate on one. Would probably pass on the twins.

That was the original plan. As it turns out, one of their rental units in Bangkok is going to be open so I am going to stay in Bangkok most of the time. I am going to be in Pattaya, too, for one or two weeks in March, but waiting on them to let me know the dates they are available to take me. It will be a weekend due to school and work schedules. They will stay the weekend and then return to Bangkok. I will return to Bangkok on my own...either by bus or hire a car service. They are planning to book some type of day trip to an island off Pattaya...not sure of the name of the island. Maybe someone will know the island. To be honest, I am more of a 'city boy' and never have been much of a beach person. Kind of glad the condo in Bangkok is going to be available for me to use instead of spending 7 weeks in Pattaya. Still gets me out of the cold Denver winter and I think I will have more fun in Bangkok.

Same here. If none of the hosts are able to be taken off for some fun, then it doesn't interest me all that much. Cannot see the value of paying money just to have someone sit with me for a drink. Just my take on the situation.

I will be in Bangkok beginning February 20 thru April 2. At the encouragement of another forum member, I might take a trip to Pattaya for a few days during that time period, but have not made any specific plans for the side trip just yet. Would be great to connect with forum members while there if anyone else will be around. Happy to exchange contact info via DM.

Yes, so true. Unfortunately, the only thing that seems to make it into the news these days is anything related to the orange bobble head. In addition, even news organizations are so fearful of his wrath that you cannot trust or believe most of what you read these days. I had no idea corruption was so bad in Thailand. Then again, it should come as no surprise that Thailand would be an exception to the norms of the world. Just proves that money talks. Certainly doesn't make it right. Regardless of compensation offered, how can you put a price on human life? Such a tragedy indeed.

Not familiar with this. Is this a website providing reviews? Primarily in Thailand? Would be interested in learning more about this.

How terrible. Didn't see anything in the news about this here in Denver. Will there be some sort of investigation to determine the exact cause?

The thing about Airbnb you need to be careful of is the 30 day rule. Thailand has the Hotel Act which limits short term rentals of 30 days. Condo's, houses, villa's, etc that rent for short term are technically considered hotels under this law and must be licensed as such. The other problem you may come across is some buildings have their own rules that prohibit these types of rentals. That doesn't necessarily mean the actual owner abides by the building rules, but could present problems for you if discovered. There are a number of posts on here that talks about Airbnb. You might try doing a search to bring up past experiences other people have had using that service.

My understanding from @unicorn original post is that some of the 'inside jokes' were made in Hebrew. I doubt anyone other than Jewish individuals would know or understand Hebrew. Not many of the general non-Jewish population is going to have any clue about Hebrew. Perhaps I misunderstood his post.

Not to mention that pain factor. I know a couple of people who had it done as a young adult and they talked about how painful it was. I guess I never really gave it much thought until this post. Not sure I would have ever equated male circumcision to childhood mutilation. Wasn't really something I had a choice in...back in those days in the small town where I grew up, the local hospital just automatically circumcised infant boys. As a matter of fact, I don't know that my parents were even given a choice. It was just SOP back then.

I stayed at the Ibis Styles Silom in October and had a great experience. Convenient location, reasonable price, good breakfast buffet, friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend it, and if I was returning to Bangkok for a short visit would definitely stay there again. Rooms are a little on the small side, and for longer stays there isn't much in the way of storage for personal belongings.

ok, good to know. I hate cold or even warm showers. Like mine nice and hot...just like my men. lol. Think Zing is off the list.

Wish I had seen the bar tender from Ibis Styles Silom on Grinder when I was there in October. Would have been all over that in a heartbeat!!!

Is this something temporary due to construction or remodeling? Just asking because I was thinking of going to Pattaya for a few days on my upcoming trip and Zing was one of the places I was checking out. Might not be the best choice if possible guests are uncomfortable with the arrangement.
