X-Boys is going to open an outdoor bar. Half completed last night. Much smaller that Hot Male or Banana Bar, but the same setup. You will be close enough to the boys sitting out front of the massage shop next door that you will be able to carry on a conversation with them.

The trip experienced by a447a, I wouldn't wish on anybody. Most of us have traveled a lot and have a story or two tell about our bad experiences. I also wonder if we use the word scam when sometimes it's just the way the local culture works. My experiences with Vietnam have been great. My bf being Vietnamese covers language, money, food. Last trip to Hanoi is a hotel referred to me by Firecat. Turned out to be the only place I'll ever need to stay. Great staff, and location. I'm with Divinemadman. I book everything thru the hotel and so far everything has been perfect. Pickup at airport us only $12. I don't like group tours so hotel has put together private tours. All less than $75 a day Never had problem with taxi as staff vets driver and makes sure he knows where he is going. We fly to Hanoi, but bf doesn't like airport immigration so takes bus to visit family for a couple of days and then bus back to Bangkok. Hotel prints out bus tickets and drives him to bus station . There isn't anything more I could ask of the staff. My interactions with the Vietnamese people , both in Vietnam and Bangkok has been nothing short of wonderful. I've found them to be very warm, friendly and affectionate. We all have different experiences, but I wouldn't trade any of mine. We had a new forum member in Bangkok last week who is from Hanoi. I spent an evening touring Twilight with him. Great guy and we had a lot of fun. I've mentioned before I am friends with many of the Vietnamese boys that work in Soi Twilight and we have great times . So maybe I'm a bit predjudice Firecat it can get down to 10c in North Vietnam and if raining, it can be Cold. Though I jokingly tell poeple that I'm headed back to Miami to cool off.

Could you let me know of some of these scams. I'll be in Hanoi next week and in my past trips I guess I'm one of those unaware people . Never knew I was being scammed. I thought I was having a good time.
-
Most of the boys I meet up with are from SoiTwilight. My bf is Vietnamese and all the boys know each other. This has given me an inside and gets me up close and personal with many of the boys. I'll be the first to admit they can be a bit difficult on first meetings but if you get a chance to spend time with them, it can be very rewarding.

I go with Vietnamese boys all the time and don't have the same bad luck as you. I've never had a Vietnamese boy ask for more than 2000. Bottoming is an issue, but not so much the rest for me.

I'm in Bangkok, I'm going to get a massage or two.

The Police made the rounds tonight. As far as I know, X-Boys, Fresh Boys and a couple of the bars just past Dicks. Only Thai boys were allowed to work. I went to Fresh Boys. They were down to about 10 boys and shortened the show as they have a large number of Vietnamese and Cambodian boys. They had 3 Vietnamese waiters working the floor, but they were wearing street clothes and no numbers. Everybody seems to think everything will be back to normal tomorrow night.

I'm going to Hanoi in a couple of weeks. Looking at the Aps, many boys post as bottoms. Many of the boys that work in Bangkok come from the central part of the country and are not exposed to much gay anything in there lives. Most of the boys come on recommendations of friends. "I am in Bangkok making lots of money , come to Bangkok" I met a boy at FreshBoys last week. His first time on stage. Never been with a man before. But he was still offed before the night ended. Don't know how it worked out for boy or customer, but he's make it more money than working in the rice fields.

Do you have 100's of Asian boys to chose from in Western Europe?
-
I have a lot of experience with them. My bf is Vietnamese and I am good friends with many of them . Though my experience is in Bangkok. I would say a no show by a Vietnamese boy shouldn't condemn all. I'm sure many here could say they have had a no show Thai or Cambodian etc. I know many here don't like dealing with them as most are tops only. Biggest problem is it takes time to get to know them and most tourist don't have the time or patience. If you have the time, they can be very affectionate, warm and fun. Getting them to bottom probably isn't going to happen unless you find a gay boy. There are a few. Screwboys and X-Size. Some of the boys that advertise online tend to be full service. So for me, I enjoy their company very much. I know this thread will probably lead to mostly anti Vietnamese boys, but I understand, some of it's not unfounded. I've just figured how to work with them.

A small sample, but the outdoor bars on Soi Twilight weren't serving alcohol last night, but I stopped in to Fresh Boys and it was flowing freely.

You would be surprised at how many of the outdoor bars Sell alcohol in plastic cups during these periods.

I would normally agree with giving boy something, but Floridarob told boy up front what he was looking for and boy didn't give it. I think of the times I have sat with boy and we agree to this and that, then go home and nothing. Your uncomfortable with floridarob not paying, but your ok with boy lying to you and still taking your money. We read on here every day, I took boy home and he didn't perform. I'm not sure, what is the reason. In the real world if we don't perform at our jobs we don't get paid. These boys are to be paid no matter how bad they perform? What is the answer?

If I didn't indulge in the 3 P I would just stay in bed with the covers over my head. :) -
Seredipity - January visit - Bangkok, Pattaya, and back
paulsf replied to ggobkk's topic in Gay Thailand
Ggobkk, as you know, I know Van quite well and he is good friends with my friend. So I chuckle at the similarities of the boys. In bed, I have the same problem, he needs to touch every inch of it and I like my 1 spot. Fortunately I have a sofa bed for the real bad nights. The a/c is mine. We have plenty of blankets and he gets them all. We go to Madrid. My friend wasn't so sure the first time. He had some Thai seafood and was happy. But he got to try pizza for the first time and now likes it a lot. About the only western food he will eat. Great to hear your story -
I stopped by Dream Boys last night. The place was packed as usual to over capacity. A couple times they couldn't let anymore people in. 480 for drink. Boys were being offed a a good rate.

But you've really got your work cut out to convert me I've never bought anything online except travel.

But that's what Bangkok is...lots of noise, traffic and tourist.
-
I've dealt with my fair share of agents and try not to let them bother me. But yesterday I cam they Doha. They were the worst agents I have ever seen. Lots of attitude and extremely lazy.

Impossible to recommend a place with out a bit more info. Hotels in Bangkok are as reasonably priced as anywhere. It's a big city with good public transportation system. So you need to figure what your going to be doing and if location is a major factor. All the major chains have many locations. You can run $75 - 150 for 4and 5 star hotels. You can also find $40 very comfortable and clean hotels. Not much on amenities. I just arrived this morning. I'll be here for 3 months. I rent a condo. 1 bedroom is cheaper than hotel. Not hard to find something great in this city as it's overwhelmed with hotels.

I just missed you. I'm in a lounge at the airport in Doha on my way to Bangkok. Flew Qatar in business. I'm a big supporter of Cathay Business Class, but this flight was amazing. Most comfortable Buiness Seat I've ever had. Glad you had a great time in Hong Kong and welcome home.

Vietnam Embassy in Bangkok? Yes it is probably packed thru next week. I get my visa there and usually takes a couple of days. I'm sure now it would take a week. But the lines to drop off passport and application moves real fast. I know a lot of Vietnamese boys in Soi Twilight. Many of them left this week because they go by bus and they were having problems getting tickets next week. I was talking to 1 boy that is going Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City next week and can't get a train ticket. The Vietnamese press has said this will be the biggest New Years for travel in history as the economy is growing and more people working. I'll have to do a visa run to Hanoi, but I can wait till March.
-
Be careful doing a visa run to Vietnam next week. Tet is coming up and the travel mess has started as all Vietnamese want to get home by Feb 1.
-
Thanks for the kind words. I arrive at 7am on Feb 1. Ggobkk, maybe we can do breakfast at the airport, me arriving you leaving. I know time is getting close as my Line accounts are starting to light up as boys are hoping I will come earlier. Having many Vietnamese friends, they are all heading home next week for Vietnam New Year and hoping to get a little financing before they go. With this being a 3 month trip, I can use a little money saving at the beginning. Hot Male will do well.
