The warning was issued today by Pol Maj-Gen Siriwat Deepor, deputy spokesman for the Royal Thai Police, in the wake of the widespread dissemination of pornographic content featuring characters that resemble certain entertainment celebrities. He said that producers of such content could face defamation, producing pornographic material for commercial purposes or for distribution and Computer Crime Act charges. The officer has previously said that online scammers have used AI technology to copy the voices of well-known people in an attempt to dupe potential victims into believing that that are dealing with such celebrities.
