I recently did my first overnight in Tokyo in a hotel. I had to come get him from the lobby but it was busy and no one seemed to care. Everything went well. There’s a safe in most hotel rooms if you’re worried about them stealing. Most airbnbs don’t have safes but you can easily give them the address. Just which one you prefer.

Like most cities, you have to beware of pickpockets but theft generally is very uncommon in Japan. Thanks a lot for the advice, really helpful! 🙏 I’ll be staying in an Airbnb this time, so I hope bringing someone up won’t be an issue . And good to know Japan is so safe – sounds like I should worry more about my umbrella than my wallet.

So im in Kyoto now and there are SOME actual Kyoto branches but it you have a favorite branch in Osaka, Just book with them! They do make that travel. Depending on where in Kyoto you can be charged a long distance fee. Mine was ¥2,500 just added to the course fee. I reached out to a few and they all pretty much said the same thing. I would recommend  making the reservation as early as you can so they can inform the model.
