This time bit different - trip to Thailand in August 2024

Arrival

  This time is was quite a long trek since I had 12 hours layover in Munich. After overnight flight my plan was to do some sightseeing of the city,   few people I know consider most interesting in Germany. But even best plans are derailed and sometimes replaced by even better ones.

Upon arrival  at main train station, itself a long train ride from the airport , count at least 45 minutes, I noticed train to Garmish Patenkirchen departing in 7 minutes. Enough time to  place my carry-on in locker, ticket was no issue as I got 1 day Bavaria Ticket purchased at the airport already. 90 minutes later alighted from the train at Garmish but instead of admiring Alpine vistas I noticed poster about  train trips to Germany’s highest peak Zugspitze. Round trip to the peak  by separate train plus cable car up and down was 72 euros. I said silent prayer that it will work and soon I was on my way . at certain point we changed train  to different one, cog wheeled which took us through the  tunnel to the glacier, quite high up there. From last station it was cable car to viewing platform just below the actual peak.

Day was beautiful so you can imagine  views from the top. Going down was direct cable car from the top to train station. From there to Garmish and then another train to Munich. Getting there just in time to catch train to the airport and board my Bangkok bound overnighter.

 Little I knew at that time that this transit day was perhaps best day of entire trip, bonus being completely unplanned and not even expected to be spent that way.

 

 Day 1

Arrived in Bangkok at 14.30. First step was to buy SIM card as I was supposed to meet another ,member  who was about to finish his Thai trip with 3 days in Pattaya  and this way my first were his last 3. Immigration was a breeze and soon we meet at Gate 8 from where Bus to Pattaya departs but we decided to call Bolt or Grab, whatever my friend was using and for 1000 baht plus 100 tip , 80 minutes after we were alighting in front of Classroom hotel.

Since it was my friend’s first visit in the city we did walk about  Boyztown’s sois an Beach Rd, I showed him famous Lewinsky hotel, we sat for a dinner at bay watch restaurant and at 21.00 parked ourselves, beer in hand on Copa’s verandah to see Boyztown coming to life. An hour later we decided to check show at XBoys so went there . It was almost full and show was very progressive with a lot of flesh visible and not one but two special shows. It was surprising to see one of their guys I know for years to be actually smilingly bottoming in one of them.     And no, it was not just a simulation.

Then was decided , at my insistence to check  Dreamboys across the  soi. I was hoping  #36 I saw twice in January will be there . There were no customers but about dozen boys assembled on the stage for us , 36  was not one of them but fast my friend pointed at another guy and I wasted no time to call him over. Tall, muscular and handsome. Drink and whisper “ do you go with me ? “ answered “ yes”  smilingly. What about long time ? “I will tell you later” was the answer.

Soon we were walking to hotel. On top of physical attractiveness his English proved very conversational and we had good time indeed. What about that long time ? “ I can not tonight as I need to wake up early to help my friend to move, but tomorrow for sure” . What about daytime visit ?, “I will let you know tomorrow”. At 2 session was over , he wanted to go home to sleep so collected his tip, 2000, high for Pattaya but worth every penny an went his way. I , after two nights on the plane and day in between spent sightseeing Alpes  , collapsed on the bed for well deserved , although lonely sleep. While in Thailand I like to wake up in the morning next to a fine gentleman, not necessarily dressed and to complete a deal , to have breakfast with him. But not tonight as we can see.

Day 2

 After he left I collapsed on the bed for well deserved rest after two nights on the plane and night in between spent sightseeing.

At 9 breakfast with  my forum friend at Kiss, then introduction to Jomtien with some time spent on almost empty beach. There one could see it’s really low season. Then noon time stroll through empty Jomtien Complex.

I was checking throughout the day if message from my last night guest will show he will come for daytime visit but by 14.30 I lost all hope  and when I lost it, around 4 pm  message came he wont be able to come  because he is still helping his friend to move and settle.

 Nice dinner with forum friend in the seaside restaurant at mouth of Walking Street.

Tonight we decided to start survey of  realm with ToyBoys. At 9 not too many customers , several twinky boys in briefs  on the stage plus few , I’d say more attractive  standing by the door  in jeans and without numbers but clearly hoping. I suspect it could be foreign boys who in case of raid can claim they are only customers , hence neither  numbers nor work attire. One was actually vert attractive , almost like my last night companion.

 After we left I went to Dreamboys to pay off fee for my last night guy to make sure he won’t be taken and promised him to take him out no later than midnight. I had hope he will stick to his last night promise to stay overnight

 At 10 change scenery for BoyzBoyBoyz. Loud music, smoking inside the bar, two dozen if not more fully dressed boys on the stage with only two bare chested. Mamasan Lek recognized me immediately and informed that sadly off fee now is 1050. Wow ! And that for boys dressed like anybody else on the street ? for a while I was only farang but after 2 or 3 more came but generally all customers were Asian or more precise , looking Chinese.

Not seeing anything nor anybody of interest, most boys looked very average dressed as to cover any trace of sexiness, we did not even wait for  a show, gulped our drinks and very disappointed went to ABomb   only to learn that they don’t have boys at the moment and they show up only for the show.

That’s strange , boy bar without boys ? End must be near , that’s rather sure.

So much sooner than expected we went to Dreamboys where y guy was waiting for me with smile , I bought him  a drink, we had talk with mamasans and  hour later went to hotel.

Very nice talk in the room, we exchanged some photos. It turned out I visited his city in Thailand .

We talked about Bangkok as he never been there . I suggested he may visit me next week when I return from Cambodia and he seemed enthusiastic about an idea of me being his Bangkok guide.

Of course I asked about promised long time. “I can only till 5 “, we even agreed on compensation of 3000. Bed activities excellent then , like last night 2 am arrive and all of the sudden he expressed desire to go home because he is hungry and it’s supposed to be raining and he wants to  be home before rain starts.

Goes without saying that I was upset  as things were going very well, to a point that I did not even reduced his tip but let him gram 3000 prepared for an occasion on the desk.  After he left I had cooling down stroll through deserted already streets in vicinity and even treated myself with kebab in the shop I had honor to patronize on the day of their opening back in Dec 2021.

 Apart from upsetting it was puzzling as we genuinely went along great, knew what to expect from each other from yesterday so why false promises if sincerity would do ? I cant say day 2 ended well for me , I start even questioning what is wrong with me if such nice guy is treating me such way?

Thanks @vinapu for sharing the story.  I definitely symphatize with your story on how day #2 ended - and it shows that we are all just humans, with feelings, and that is true even for the most battle tested veterans among us!!!  💪

I think there could be hundreds of explanations why he needed to go that morning and does not last till next day and none has nothing to do with you. Some could be entirely benign like if he has someone to take care of at home or maybe he needs his “medication” (who knows).  We all know that these boys don’t live the most ideal life, and one way or the other, they may have a challenging life on their own.  Although we sometimes don’t see that on the surface, we know that they may struggle in the background. 

In the end though, it doesn’t really matter. On to the next stamp collecting.

The anchor of Boyztown, BoyzBoyzBoyz is no longer fun; A-Bomb without gogo dancers - now only a show; Sunee Plaza now practically a ghost town, and Supertown now having another difficult slow season and hanging on for the hoped for uptick, when many members in this forum will return for high-season from the end of October through March.

Nothing wrong with you Vinapu.  I saw it with my own eyes - the guys are enchanted and very happy to see you again...

What you are experiencing is "false marketing" - the guys are telling you what you want to hear to get the sale but then not delivering on what was promised.

Unfortunately, this phenomena has gained momentum in the last year and I cannot understand why.

Perhaps the partners of the guys that we like to off are no longer allowing their guys to stay out all night long ?

Or, perhaps they have lost their "interest" in keeping us happy ?

Remember how perplexed I was with that sexy Hotmale guy from Myanmar that I brought back to my Raya room for him to only fall asleep - no matter what I tried to do to arouse him.  And when I tried again in the morning after he slept very well (I did not as I don't sleep well with unknowns in my bed), I recommenced to arouse him for him to get hard and then to fall asleep again - talk about being frustrated.  So, when I pulled him up into the upright position to tell him that I needed to pack and go, he was startled.  I told him that his overnight LT rate was being reduced to a ST due to a lack of performance - he acknowledged and apologized.

I understand all that, I'm not teenager for very long time. 

If what you describe is the case it's  very simple to disclaim that one can't stay past  whatever time is.  Puzzling part is why promise to stay till 5 while already in the room so deal is made anyways without fear of losing baht and 2 hours later change story to hunger and rain in order to go home earlier. There must be something mysterious about that 2 am as he left at the same time night before and going bit ahead , he will do the same following night ( yes , I decided that I'm in Thailand to have fun , not to get even   and opted to take him next night as well, this time hoping for nothing and thus avoided being disappointed ). Up to 2 am he was great guy indeed, both at the table and in the sheets all there nights we met.

Challenging life doesn't clash with keeping standards, no need to fabricate stories when sincerity will do.

I was there month in January and 8 days in May and while those type of behavior happened before it was very rare and anecdotic. This time it was repetitive  disaster to a point that last Saturday in the morning I caught myself  thinking, " o my God , still 5 days before I go home " instead of usual " O my God, only 5 more days and I need to go home". This even surprised myself.

No,  I'm in no mood to look for excuses that boys have hard lives etc. There was time I was bleeding heart for them . This time is bit different, hence tittle of this thread.

do you have an idea why police shut down part of downtown on Thursday midday. U2 line was also shut down and I was forced to walk circular  from Marien Platz to Alte Pinakotheke ?

Vinapu's unusual reports  of deception and bad faith relating to LT commitments is a cause of concern for all us going forward. We also heard a disappointing LT report from bkkmfj2648. These beg the question whether there's anything members can do to prevent falling victim to these same ruses.

Other than not seeking LT offs, there's no foolproof way of completely avoiding them. However, anticipating them may improve your odds of not becoming a victim. What I believe is the best method might be to have a unambiguous discussion in the bar before a deal is struck that requires the guy to acknowledge that his fee will be reduced to ST if he departs before agreed time for any reason.  (I was pleased to see that bkkmfj248 cut his guy's rate the next morning for lack of performance).

It may also be helpful to early on tell your prospective LT off that you're interested only in a LT agreement. Putting him on notice prior to any negotiations may help dissuade some from the outset. Benefiting from Vinapu's experience may well turn out to be his gift to us.

While I did not have unfortunate experience of a LT guy backing out after ST session, I did experienced a guy staying overnight but not willing to continue after we woke up. He kept his clothes on and refused me. Eventually, I managed to get him to jerk my morning wood away in bathroom. I still had breakfast with him after that and tipped him LT fee.

It was quite strange because before that night, we had two memorable LTs a few months earlier. But after that 3rd incomplete session, I did not off him anymore even though I still see him at bar.

Something like this happened to me last year.

While l was sitting at the Moonlight bar, Mamasan insisted on a Cambodian boy, yes, in fact, the man was young, handsome and friendly.   I invited him to the table for a drink. We agreed to long time session, I did not bargain on the price. While everything was going well, when we got to the hotel, the boy's behavior became strange, he became timid and did not talk much. I did not want him to stay the night after a session that was not very fun. After taking a shower, I politely told him that he could change his clothes and go home. His face turned sad but he had already lowered my mood. I did not cut the price (gave him LT price) and said goodbye to him.

When I arrived at the bar the next day, the mamasan asked me for my review. I answered briefly: " not for me"

This time, relying on my own choices, I met an ultra-cute Laotian boy. We did not make any bargains at the bar, I just went with the flow. Contrary to the previous night, this time at the hotel the boy stated that he wanted to stay the night. I accepted and I met the most compatible  and friendly person of my trip. l had a fun time with him for 3 more nights.

Unfortunately, this Laotian boy was not in Bangkok for a year, but returned to his hometown. The Cambodian boy is still working in the same bar. When I go to the bar and we make eye contact, we just wave, say hello and greet each other briefly. I don't plan on having another experience with him.

In short, what I want to say is that every experience is unique.

I agree, on that trip I think I was caught off guard by what turned our to be was serial execution as we will see soon. Its one thing to have 1 or even three bad apples per trip but if that happen almost every other  time id borders on disease.

Based on my experience even if we warn them about reduced fee some  still promise LT only to renege at first possibility.

What was interested, I did not have that kind of problem with  few guys I offed out of bar system ie. freelancers or bar/massage  boys acting as freelancers at day time .

Bottom line of this though is the fact that we go there to have fun , not to develop business strategies dealing with wayward guys.

Of course not seeking LT offs is solution, some members use strategy of asking for LT option when in the room. But at end of day not seeking offs at all is also solution. Enjoying massage boys only in their shops for example. Still it's a  bit different experience from waking up next to naked boy , often with morning wood. 

Question remains in such case -it's worth to travel whole day only to enjoy breakfast in world renowned UNESCO listed Foodland Patpong ?

From almost all comments on this board, everyone pays them the agreed fee even when there is non-performance. If more people started to do this, I think it would happen less.....why should they work or do anymore than they need to  if they're going to be rewarded equally, never has made sense to me.

Is why I have lowered expectations to Thailand....relegated it to be good business class flights, amazing food, good-great massages and a slight chance to have good sex,  with someone not from a go-go bar.

Guys, the reason for their frustrating (deceitful?) behavior is right in front of u. 

At least 3 members shared such experiences, and reported paying them in full. Why shouldnt they continue with a method that works for them? Within their peer gossip they probably refer 2 such clients with the Thai term for "suckers".

If u want 2 make sure that he stays 4 LT and performs, tell him up front that the pay is either LT or nothing.
