I have been lurking in this forum and have learned many valuable info and insights for my upcoming trip to Bangkok in mid June.  Many thanks to all the folks here that have shared their experiences, both good and bad about their time in Bangkok.  I do have a question that I have not seen a recent thread on, offing gogo boys after hours.  My flight doesn’t come into Bangkok until 23:30.  By the time I get to Silom area got to be after 01:00.  My understanding is that most of the go go bars closed at 1:00.  Are there any possibility of picking up MB after these bars closed?  Is it cheaper to off these boys since there are no bar fines?

It's possible. The fee is usually the same but at least you won't have to pay the bar so it's still cheaper. Just don't proposition the wrong person, that might be awkward 🤭

Hot Male beer bar on street level also closes at 2 and waiters / hosts / boys are available for an off. Great strategy when one arrives late is to have walk through the area, perhaps even making 2- 3 circles as many boys eat, drink , socialize or just stand there  glued to their phone , perhaps hoping for that last chance. I had luck quite a few times. 

problem with that approach is that it's only for older hands,  not first comers,  since , as foolish commented above,  ' one may propose wrong person "

Thanks for the Hot Beer bar info.  As for MB after hours, don’t they still wear their number tag? LOL, just joking, I am sure they can sense fresh meat when they see me walking around.  So I will play it cool and if the right person and an opportunity comes then I will take it, if not, there is always tomorrow…

of course not and rarely they even look like  being on the market . Yes , they may sense fresh meat, it's why I said 2-3 walking rounds are better so they don't take you for mere passerby.

Don't forget Silom Soi 2/DJ Station may also be open till 2am and GOD until 4am for picking up freelancers or even freebies.

WOW, before this post I was worrying about most of the places closing at that time, but now the problem is too many options available.  Which is a good problem to have.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Sometimes MB's who are still looking for a customer sit on Silom between Thaniya and Silom Soi 4 about 1.15am onwards. I once said to one: 'Are you a money boy' and we were in a taxi to my hotel 12 seconds later.

Maybe just go to bed and get a good night's sleep, and start your cruising well rested the next afternoon / evening.

I've picked up guys there in the past.... gotta have your wits about you, because they come with a risk that the bar boys generally don't, just like the freelancers at DJ.... some have  taken things from my room , even when I thought I had hidden everything, sunglasses, cologne, a flip phone, small amounts of baht or coins.... even nail clippers once.

and then spent rest of vacation wondering why you wasted that first opportunity ?

My trips there are taking 24 hrs. + but regardless of time of arrival ( earliest I landed was 5.30 am , the latest at 2.am ) I always feel energized when see familiar sight of BTS tracks over Silom

it's why I prefer bar / massage boys over apps or street trade even if it costs more because of drinks and off fees which I treat as insurance premium and entertainment cost combined. 

to be fair 2 or 3 times when I grabbed  somebody from street were enjoyable and free of thefts and other antics but statistic sample is too small for me to build theory

'Are you a money boy'. Yes. 1000. taxi. This doesn't take 17 seconds. No need for long conversations.

At least 5 seconds to creat a diversion with respect to the off duty mamasan  tracking your every move  for rolling it into the subsequent night’s negotiations.
