Popular Post jason1975 Posted 22 hours ago Author Popular Post Posted 22 hours ago Day 4 Lazy morning at swimming pool. Afternoon coffee with forum members. After coffee, I stepped into soi 4 to go to new disco Horn owned by owners of Beef. They had recently started disco on Sunday afternoon 4pm onwards. Day time discos are a new trend in other countries. Being curious, I stepped into Horn at 5pm. Farang woman at DJ console. One other customer inside throughout my time there the next one hour. 300 baht entry paid at front entrance for one drink. Other than the non existent crowd, it was an enjoyable way to pass the time. The lady DJ was pretty good with her song choices and she was enjoying her job despite the empty dance room. As I had dinner appointment, I had to leave at 6pm. I walked to her DJ console and passed her 200 baht in tips. She was so surprised! Probably not often that she got tipped for doing her job. And she did a pretty good job! I went back to Bandara Suites and my guy was waiting for me at lobby after he finished work. We went up to the room for a while then we went to The Commons just next door which had food from different countries. I decided on Singapore chicken rice for us. "Is it very different from Thailand chicken rice?" I asked him as he took the first few bites on his plate. I knew that he likes to eat chicken rice. He said Singapore chicken rice was slightly different from Thai chicken rice but he likes it! After dinner, we walked back to Bandara Suites to take complimentary tuk tuk to Patpong. It doesn't actually stop at Patpong. Because the route loops around Sala Daeng, it goes to Silom Complex and then onto Silom Road before it turns left at Soi Convent then back to hotel. Our driver doesn't stop at Silom Complex as was the usual practice. He stopped outside Park Silom and we crossed Silom Road to go to Patpong. My guy reported to his bar for the next two hours but he knew I would be paying his off fee for tonight and tomorrow night. I didn't want him to tag along with me while I visited other bars and renew acquaintances with old friends. We both predicted that he would not be offed by a customer within the two hours in his bar. But we could be wrong. I enjoyed the short period of freedom I had tonight. I sat and chatted with waiters at Midnight bar. I saw the guys from Atlas bar when they came out for breaks. I noticed 3 guys in particular. These 3 were not as big as the others. But they were tall, had very nice proportions, stylish hair and they looked younger than the other guys inside! I was right about their appeal. Half an hour after I first saw them, I saw a customer walk out of Atlas with 2 of the 3 guys. They walked across the soi and made their way to Good Boy bar. Whether customer took them back to hotel or was content to enjoy their company in another bar, I did not know. At 11.30pm I walked into Freshboys. The guys were all standing on stage waiting for 3rd show to start. Decent crowd but not as full as Friday night. I sat down and saw my guy seated with a group of Asian male and female customers! Mamasan saw me and welcomed me to a seat. I chatted with her. 30 guys working tonight. I had half a bottle of Johnnie Walker left and I asked waiter to bring it out. I continued chatting with mamasan and then turned my head to look at the guys standing on stage. Lo and behold! My guy was standing there! Wasn't he at the table with customers? I laughed aloud in surprise. I called him down to my table then told mamasan. "Tonight and tomorrow night. Two nights" I showed her two fingers on my hand. I found out that the lady customer whom he had been sitting with is a Taiwanese tour guide. The 5 other Asian male customers are China tourists and she was showing them around. My guy and lady tour guide know each other and she always buys him a drink when she visits the bar. They had been casually chatting while waiting for my arrival. For the rest of the night, the 5 Chinese tourists invited guys to sit and drink with them while they watched the show. But they didn't off anyone. Ditto for most customers in bar. Close to closing time, there were about 25 guys standing on stage which means only 5 guys got offed. I managed to finish my bottle of Johnnie Walker. I had invited 3 other guys to join my guy and me. Mamasan also joined in as well. I left bar just before closing time. Same supper routine as previous nights. Foodland was venue but our group was smaller now. Only one forum member joined us. But still enjoyable to catch up on day's activities. By 1.45am, my guy and I were back in hotel room. End of Day 4. spoon, paulsf, bkkmfj2648 and 5 others 8 Quote

Having sampled both the Singaporean and Thai (khao man gai) versions many times, I much prefer the Singaporean version. Just something about how they prepare the chicken and the rice that makes it tastier, I can't put my finger on it. One of my favourite foods actually. Quote
jason1975 Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago I have to add on one more story. The Midnight waiters were happily choosing and buying lottery tickets from lottery ticket lady who was walking around and selling them. 100 baht per ticket. 6 million baht top prize. The Midnight waiters said they will quit their jobs if they win the lottery! zoomomancs 1 Quote
jason1975 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Day 5 I decided to take a walk at nearby Lumpini Park followed by Benchakitti Park. I used Google Maps to navigate my way from Lumpini to Benchakitti. The latter is huge! Besides the lake and greenery, I was impressed by the sports facilities. There were Thai aunties and retirees playing pickleball. There were also Thai guys playing indoor football. I saw dog owners letting their pets play with each other at the Benchakitti Dog Park. So cute! I went back to the hotel exhausted. I took a nap then woke up for massage appointment with a Chiang Mai guy working at Olivia Massage along Surawong Road. After that, it was off to Foodland not for dinner but to play chess! There were four of us and we had an informal tournament for the next 3 hours. It was chess night for me and my guy and we found another two guys who knew how to play. We had two chessboards and sat in the middle of the restaurant with diners looking at us while they had their dinner. Unfortunately, none of the diners came closer to have a look or ask to join in. Thailand doesn't seem to have a chess culture. There was a gay couple - an elderly farang and a tall thin Thai twink in his mid-20s who sat near us. Thai twink was observing us and showed an interest. I overheard farang saying, "What's so interesting about chess!" He's really a grumpy old man! After chess, my guy and I wandered around the area. We went to Circus at Soi 4 and had drinks while chatting with waiter whom we both knew from many years ago. He used to work at same bar in Soi Twilight as my guy. Then we watched a free Pride Month concert at Park Silom. Finally, we went inside GoodBoys. I chatted with a friend who worked there and bought him a drink. He observed me and my guy and he said to me privately, "Two of you good together! ❤️ " I didn't know how to respond except to smile. We watched the show at GoodBoys then at 11pm, my guy and I went to Quarter Silom to say goodbye to forum member who was ending his trip and was taking taxi to airport. After that, my guy and I went to 7/11 to get some snacks before we took taxi back to hotel. End of Day 5. bkkmfj2648 and 10tazione 2 Quote
