TMax Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I think that short time hotel with the mirror above the bed may have been the Suriwonse hotel, I did enquire with them pre covid but it seems the mirrors are gone, much to my dismay. Quote

I do think that may have been it! Somewhat seedy, but sheets were clean! TMax 1 Quote

TMax already answered while I was sleeping, lol It's still in operation although I don't see them on Agoda recently. Zeus massage is using them as one of 5 hotels where their personnel meets clients for outcall massages Quote
jason1975 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Since it is near Moonlight, maybe it's available for short time rental for guys from Moonlight? Quote

jason1975 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Someone should start a new topic and compare the hotels in Silom Surawong area and state the pros and cons of each hotel! Hotels below US$100 per night, that is. TMax 1 Quote

I never stayed at the hotel, only took my guys to the rooms off the garage on the ground floor. Easy and quick. But certainly no ceiling mirrors that i recall. In fact I only recall one short time hotel with ceiling mirros but that was definitely somewhere off Sukhumvit - and a good 30 years or more ago. I sometimes miss the Japanese short time hotels. many with circular beds and mirrors both on the ceilings and the walls. They all seemed set up to give you a fun and exciting time with your partner. iendo Posted September 30 Posted September 30 I never heard of the Raya, but on my first trip to Bangkok ill give it a try. Seems like the perfect location. Quote

Shock of the month ! Hotel is in business since soi Twilight days . Anyways location is great , rooms big and well appointed and entry is super discreet by the card. Unless your room is on 5th floor where reception is you and your guests can sneak to the room unnoticed by anybody which is part I like. jamiebee and iendo 1 1 Quote
paulfort Posted September 30 Author Posted September 30 I would fully agree with Vinapu, as mentioned I have enjoyed the excellent Raya countless times and very easy access, their Grand Deluxe rooms are more like a spacious suite without the normal price tag, however this time fancied a change and whilst conscious rooms not so big at Ibis styles, fancied a balcony and use of a pool! vinapu and jamiebee 2 Quote
jimmie50 Posted October 1 Posted October 1 I think it all depends on what experience you have had on previous visits to Bangkok. For myself, all of my previous trips I was visiting friends. I either stayed with them or they made arrangements for me to stay in a condo. Most of my time was occupied and it wasn't until my most recent trip last August that I was actually able to venture out on my own a little and explored Silom for the very first time. So, aside from reading about these places on forums like this, I was also unfamiliar with Raya as well as many of the other accommodations mentioned. That is why I asked for recommendations before making my reservation for the upcoming trip and plan to be mostly independent this time. Fourteen days until departure. jamiebee 1 Quote

Yes, I am planning to report...although I am not sure anyone will be interested in the part of my trip when I am on the group tour. Might leave that uninteresting part out, but definitely the time in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. jamiebee, vinapu and iendo 3 Quote

paulfort Posted October 4 Author Posted October 4 Interesting feedback guys, especially the video, room size sounds a worry at Ibis Styles, my normal "Grand Deluxe" in Raya is massive but maybe a little dated and no balcony or pool hence trying a chance! I have booked their Premium Balcony deluxe, looks a bit larger so happy to share my feedback on here! Quote
