jason1975 Posted yesterday at 01:32 AM Posted yesterday at 01:32 AM I am planning in advance a New Year Eve's party (end of this year 2026) for some favourite boys and me. Anyone here has recommendation for hotel where there are rooms with view of fireworks? Quote

Anyone here has recommendation for hotel where there are rooms with view of fireworks? I like Chatrium Riverside. It is on the same stretch of premium riverfront as Four Seasons and Capella, but fraction of the price. There were very reasonable rates to be had for NYE as late as November 2025. The best part is that it comes with a balcony, ideal for hosting. If you’re willing to splurge on the 1 BR suite, this is a serviced apartment set up with kitchen unit for cooking and spacious living room. I paid 6000 baht in September. Most are corner units I think, with front facing view and also clear side view of Asiatique and Rama III bridge. For some reason the official site is suggesting the suite is 18,000 baht for 31 Dec 2026 but I remember clearly that I checked in Nov 2025 for this past NYE and it was not more than 10,000. I suspect dynamic pricing and maybe people have blocked multiple hotel options that they will then cancel mid year. Also it seems longer stay = better price. If you want a view of IconSiam then Royal Orchid Sheraton. Floor to ceiling window but no balcony, has a very nice restaurant on the riverfront though. You will need to manually arrange with hotel to give you a room with best view of IconSiam. Quote

ichigo Posted yesterday at 02:46 AM Posted yesterday at 02:46 AM I stayed at Pullman Bangkok Hotel G for new year 2025 and whilst it was a little further back from the river, the fireworks were still visible (would be better closer I think). I'll be staying at Shangri-la (Krungthep wing) shortly where each room has a balcony with a river view, so I'll let you know how that goes. Another option you may consider are hotels that are near to Central World as there are fireworks there as well I believe. Quote

I am interested to read your review too, as I have looked at this balcony room before. Room looks very nice. I’ve stayed in a non balcony room before, years ago. ichigo 1 Quote

I think they would love the riverfront pool too. The hotel is by no means “high end luxury” and not new, but it is very comfortable and well maintained. The 1 BR has a slightly strange layout, the bathroom divides the bedroom and living room, and the washbasin is outside the shower/toilet area. Check the layout and photos carefully to make sure this is fine for you. I found it awkward but not a big issue. Edit: there is also a 7-11 & Starbucks right downstairs which is very convenient for buying of snacks, drinks, mixers and condoms 😂 Quote

An interesting idea and no harm booking a hotel room if there is no prepayment or penalties for cancellations but need to consider your guest list as it's a time of year when traditionally there's a lot of movement. And if we're talking about bar workers here, well, it's a very busy time for them with more potential customers....OR they might have quit and gone back home or visa rules may have changed yet again... They're a transient lot working in a very fickle environment and a year is an eternity for them. vinapu and FunFifties 2 Quote

The only thing that might prevent him will be visa issues. As for guest list, he and I have many friends whom we can invite! Given a choice between countdown to New Year in bar with customer or countdown with fireworks, most guys will choose the 2nd option! bkkmfj2648 1 Quote

floridarob Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago 17 hours ago, mauRICE said: if there is no prepayment or penalties for cancellations I was going to say the same thing... most Hotels with revenue managers will usually will throw a rate on the room that is high enough not to sell it too cheap this far out, not only NYE but other known high occupancy nights. Then you'd need to monitor the rate to watch for its sweet spot, just like airfares..... if there's not much booking activity, they'll drop the rate for a bit to get some bookings and then raise it to where they think it needs to be, more realistically. Hotels without revenue managers, sometimes forget this and you could find a great deal with their standard rack rate because no one thought about next year yet, rates are usually loaded a year ahead by default by the system. Make sense? vinapu 1 Quote
