Bangkok/Tokyo For 2 Weeks a piece

1  I never tried but it probably depends on the guy,  some guys seem to have a set program  others seem to have never heard of a massage before lol.   I’ve seen massage places that do out call.  That might work better.  In any case you at H places you can just take charge.  If the massage isn’t working signal time to move on.  The guy I saw several times at arena seemed ok one time when I wanted to move on.

2 if you don’t like bars don’t go to bars.  If you do just say no, last trip I didn’t buy a single waiter/ mamasan/pimp a drink.  If i liked someone I would wave them over or ask someone to.

3 not to my knowledge other then some massage places do outcall and of course rentmen(though that’s expensive.  
 

Other options  apps(grinder etc)  lots of pros on there.   Also sex clubs/ spas:  Maxwell Olsen had a good range of young fit guys when I was there other then the locker room and pool areas you wear cloths they issue (also private cubicles available) but there are lots to choose from.

If you do think to try a  massage place I  recommend  “ ShamelessMack2”  a blog with lots of reviews where you can kind of get a feel for what the places are like.

Finally it sounds like they sensed a first timer.  For the record you were neither the first or the last to fall into this.  If you aren’t ready tell them so, when you are you pick who sits with you.  Whatever you decide have fun!

@PeterRS How does one use a map that is 15 years old? There's a serious risk of outdated information.

If we used a 15-year old map of Bangkok or Pattaya, we'd be making a beeline for Soi Twilight and Sunnee plaza... 

I always prefer online maps. They are more likely to be up to date and since I am already carrying a phone, why carry another object - a book?

But coming to the point, I have never had trouble finding places in Japan, though maybe I haven't been trying to get to out of the way places. Most establishments nowadays are able to send you a googlemap reference that is very accurate.

That's a rather unusual and I reckon unnecessary comment coming from @macaroni21. First I did say a "bilingual guide like this one" adding there are many available on amazon. I did not recommend mine although I bought it 15 years ago. And surely he is perfectly well aware that publishers do not keep such map guidebooks for 15 years without regular updating. All such books are updated every few years. That said, I have used the small map book whose pic I printed and have never had trouble finding anywhere in Tokyo. He should also be aware as one who visits Tokyo that Tokyo's Bangkok's gay areas are far more permanent than Thailand's. Shinjuku ni-chome has been there for the more than four decades since my first visit. Ueno also fits that bill to a lesser extent, as do several other areas.

I have nothing against online maps which provide precise details of gay establishments. But for general getting around, I will always also have a small book map with me even though generally they have no mention whatever of any type of bars.
