You can certainly treat a hire as a piece of meat and dehumanize them, but I disagree that the act of engaging them is inherently dehumanizing.

It's a job. I often didn't like my work. But, it paid well and I did it. Why is that any different than this? Perhaps you can argue, and I don't think I'd disagree, that most work is dehumanizing. If you're working, it's almost always because you have to. Different forms of economic vulnerability, but still most people do it because they have to. I do not subscribe to the notion that sex work is somehow inherently worse than other jobs.

If you don't want to dehumanize the guys, don't be an asshole. It is amazing how many social interactions go so much better when you aren't an asshole.

This reminds me of an article I read a long time ago by a woman sex worker.  Her point was that she got to dress how she wanted to, did things she liked, set her own schedule, had tons of free time and only take clients she wanted to.  She said she didn’t feel exploited or degraded.  Now her high school job at McDonalds….

About economic exploitation,  I think many maybe most people only do their jobs because they need the money.   Also, what they are saying is that it is better to let them starve?  I think that its usually best to let people decide for themselves what they want to do.

I had a lawyer chasing me for money in Sydney after I was going to sell my apartment and changed my mind on the sale day ,(just to be a Cunt !)😂

You might remember the Midnight Cowboy bar in Saphan Kwai from (many) years ago. The mamasan (from Hong Kong) there was a very realistic person when it came to describing the boy trade. "Would you rather work for an hour in a nice air conditioned hotel room... or work for a few weeks in a steamy, mosquito-infested rice paddy?" She said she thought that most go-go boys were basically lazy, wanting to earn money as easily and as quickly as possible. She also pointed out that in order to attract a nice girlfriend, they need money. "No girl wants to date a poor boy" she reasoned. 

Now just to put this all in context... at the time, when asked if 500 baht was acceptable, she replied "that would be very generous". Times have obviously changed. Isaan boys are no longer restricted to being a rice farmer, but... ?
