When I went to the airport, they wouldnโt let me board the flight because my passport expiration date was wrong. I know it wasnโt my mistake. I was lucky enough to be in a FB group for Vietnam travel and I posted there and a woman from San Jose was able to contact the embassy in HCMC and get my visa corrected. I was able to fly the next day.ย Point it, you can probably apply online. But be very careful. A friend told me the same thing happened to her daughter. Also, Hanoi was a disappointment. Way too many motorbikes and not much to see. Olddaddy 1 Quote

Yes I have heard stories about how pedantic they are about the visaย I may also have to book Fast track at the airport there as I read the hottie stories of hours of wait in immigration ๐ฅบ As for Hanoi I guess I will be forced to do my own research as what to see and where to go , quite ridiculous i am forced to do this !! ๐ฅบ๐ก vinapu 1 Quote
PeterRS2 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I got my visa on line with no problems. As I had an APEC business travel card, I got through FastTrack in a couple of minutes. I had a guide who was gay and great fun to see the city with. He was the friend of friends of mine. Although he had a hotel job, he was able to get time off for my three days. I loved the city - motorbikes apart! As so often in Vietnam it is the mixture of local and French colonial customs that make it interesting. Since I was accompanied, I can't advise on MBs but there must be quite a lot in a city of nearly 10 million people. When I told her I was an ESL teacher and had had many Vietnamese students over the years, she said she would get my visa fixed free of charge - Merry Christmas! So to thank her, I signed up for the fast track thing. I didnโt want any more problems. It was totally worth it. You definitely donโt want to run into an immigration agent who decides they need a little extra cash that day.
