OK. A very odd question and many may not want to answer but a friend of mine from my childhood days is a preacher. He is also a friend and we have had many communications about being gay. He is always supportive of me but now he wants to bring this to his church and preach about Homosexuality in a more positive light. He feels this may get him fired but he is going to do this anyway. It is a very conservative Baptist Church in the South. He asked me for my thoughts and I'd appreciate anyone chiming in. He asked: I plan to implement some thoughts on the homosexual community and how the church views and treats them as opposed to how we should treat them. I would l…

What's up pussycat? No, I'm not on another cat crusade, this is about research at amusement parks rides and their effect on the brain. What's up is now down and vice versa. Actually this is a crusade of sorts, the brain child of Nick Laslowicz, Founder and CEO of the Institute For Centrifugal Research, who maintains that spinning people around at a sufficiently high G-force will solve every problem the brain is faced with. http://www.icr-science.org/about.htm Gravity is a mistake. We work hard to correct it. That credo is the subject of this video. Not for the squeamish. I had no idea such attractions existed for thrill seekers. Yes, it does simulate the b…

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service will stop delivering mail on Saturdays but continue to deliver packages six days a week under a plan aimed at saving about $2 billion annually, the financially struggling agency says. In an announcement scheduled for later Wednesday, the service is expected to say the Saturday mail cutback would begin in August. The move accentuates one of the agency's strong points – package delivery has increased by 14 percent since 2010, officials say, while the delivery of letters and other mail has declined with the increasing use of email and other Internet services. Under the new plan, mail would be delivered to homes and businesses only f…

Anyone start watching this yet? It's awesome and Kevin Spacey deserves an Emmy. Beyond that it has a great gay/bisexual subplot.

If you woke up this morning to find a couple feet of snow outside your door, just be thankful it wasn't thousands of large spiders instead. This Hitchcockian scene comes from the southern Brazilian town of Santo Antônio da Platina. Gawker writes: Brazilian news portal G1 reports that this footage was captured by 20-year-old web designer Erick Reis as he was leaving a friend's engagement party this past Sunday. G1 spoke with a local biologist who identified the spider as Anelosimus eximius — a "social spider" species known for its massive colonies and "sheet webs." He characterized the phenomenon as "normal," which it most certainly is not. Watch (arachnophobes b…

We are less than hour from the New Year here in Hong Kong. The bf and I are in, but we have a (partial) harbor view, so can see many of the skyscrapers lit up and decorated in New Year colors. Dinner was festive as families gathered at restaurants all over town. And lucky for us, the bf's family was able to join us as well. In Hong Kong, every tall white man is accosted multiple times a day. By strange men on the street! But they either want to sell you a suit or a "copy" watch. It actually gets quite annoying. Lots of women offer massages too, but no guys. The restaurant where we ate was managed by two cute guys who look all of 14, but I am assured that they are much ol…

It has been reported that Ryan Seacrest (who I still think is gay) has recently become engaged to his "girlfriend" of over three years. And that lucky girl is none other than Derek Hough's (Dancing With the Stars) sister. How weird is that?

No, not Captain Nemo but the winter storm Nemo. I still am not completely used to having winter storms have names. Hurricanes, yes; winter storms, no. I am hoping all of our readers and posters in the NE (and elsewhere) will be careful and take appropriate precautions during this storm. I know some who live herein and some others who recently lived herein. You know who your are. I am glad that you are now elsewhere or will be taking care during this possibly dangerous time. Duck and cover. Best regards, RA1

This Oregon Bakery shop owner refused to create a wedding cake for a same sex marriage because she doesn't believe in same sex weddings. People are bombarding her facebook page with comments, which she deletes pretty quickly... Lets all add to it.....keep her busy wiping out the comments on her intolerance and bigotry. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sweet...a/352725392798 I made a comment, which in 5 minutes had about 10 likes and a dozen comments, but she deleted it... Looks like another Chick fil a.... http://consumerist.com/2013/02/04/couple-claims-that-bakery-refused-to-make-cake-for-same-sex-wedding/
