Money, Sex, and Haagen Dazs All three bring me comfort. One might go as far as to say childish comfort, by that perhaps I mean more primitive than emotionally immature ... hard to say. My family growing up, my parents, lived paycheque to paycheque. We were happy. Like many boomers, I lost more money in the late 2000s recession than my parents saved in their lifetime, but I actually lost little relative to what I maintained. I think the correction was in some respects good and brought us back to Kansas, following the unrealistic fantasy of unlimited wealth accumulation. I look for Haagen Dazs bargains ... there is a fair spread in what it costs, according to…

If you are one to err on the side of caution, the yellow fever vaccine, commissioned for hundreds of thousands of doses in Minas Gerais and R de J (north) states, is on back order up here and hard to obtain. I was risk assessed today at Universite de Montreal Infectious Diseases Travel Clinic and got poked with the long-term inoculation.

It seems hotels in Brazil require all visitors to be registered. So to avoid it, I thought I could rent an Airbnb apartment but most places say 24h doorman. Does it mean that I would have a problem with bringing boys to my Airbnb? I want to keep it low....Any experiences?

I've been traveling with my poppers for years and never had a problem. But a friend got hassled at an US airport recently so I've decided not to bring any on my forthcoming trip. Any idea where I can get high quality poppers in the following cites and at what price? 1. Cancun 2. Medellin 3. Cali 4. Quito 5. Santo Domingo 6. San Juan I'd appreciate useful information instead of meaningless jokes (it seems that's mostly what we can find if we google...) Thank you!

I have gotten quite a few messages asking if i am going to stop going to Brazil now that i have a place in Mexico? The short answer is no! I still intend to go to Brazil, just maybe a little less frequently, maybe 3 times a year! IMHO Brazil stilll has the largest quanity of hot guys available in a fun enviornament! But Mexico has plenty of talent it just always isn't as easy as walking in a sauna but still easy to find a lot of guys! Grindr is a good place to start and once you meet a couple guys they will tell you what places to go to as far as bars/clubs etc. I don't close on my house for another 2 weeks yet I have already met 5 Mexican guys in their mid 30's t…

Hi Guys, A discussion on this topic developed in another thread I opened (reporting on Rio sauans), picking up on a side comment of mine. I'm opening a new thread on this, because due to responses there - I think some members here might benefit from it in their future travels. To be clear, not-4-pay means exactly that: young locals who want to hook up with OWM (old white male) without asking for money. Some of them might hope for money, but it's never mentioned or hinted at. Since many wondered again and again why-oh-why would a young hot guy be interested in us out-of-shape oldies, here are the answers I gathered in circa ten countries (Latin America and A…

I don't get into Sao Paulo until late on Sunday night and the better days at Lagoa are Friday and Saturday. I don't want to wait that long to have some fun. I want a guy or two Monday night. I am into muscle tops. Prices for these guys? http://garotos.com.br/saopaulo http://www.loverboys.com.br http://www.garotolandia.com.br/saopaulo.html I always go to Lagoa and have never hired a guy outside of the saunas in Sao Paulo or Rio. What are the other good days for Lagoa during the week this time of year?

During my fun in the saunas i had the opportunity to speak with some garotos and some local customers (i can speak a kind of average portuguese and i tend to be confused as a local too). Sometime i read posts about people overpaying garotos... I don't want to talk about the problems that people may have with their ego, but please...DO NOT OVERPAY GAROTOS, especially in saunas. This is not only to preserve the business which depends on the locals and their spending capacity (quite low because of the crysis), but also for your own personal safety. 1) Garotos are in saunas to work, following saunas rules and standards. If you overpay them, you will not get a b…

This is not a joke. I was in the gay beach at Farme de Amoedo today and I saw a guy get out of a car with photographers with large cameras taking photos as the guy walked to the beach. One of my friends said "That's Justin Bieber!" And it was! He walked like 20 feet away from me before a mob formed and his bodyguards hustled him back into a waiting SUV. Sorry no pics because I had left my phone in my apartment. He has a concert in Rio tonight.

I have been to Rio many times and never had a problem whatsoever until tonight. I was at Meio Mundo and it was it's usual Monday night great time. After that a friend who lives here had suggested meeting at Pedro do Sal--it is a Lapa like street party--but only on Mondays and Fridays. It really is a lot of fun and very close to MM. I recognized several of the sauna boys there and one of them approached me first to say hello--and then asked for 10 reals for transport and then for beers which I bought. Soon he was joined by a very buff guy that he said also worked at the sauna. And then they asked for more beer which i bought. I really was trying to get away from the…

Hi Guys, This was my second visit in Rio. Fortunately, an English-speaking not-4-pay guy had responded to my profile on one of the websites weeks before I arrived, so I ended up with a nice, intillegent and sexy law student who was friend, guide and sex partner. We're still in touch, and hope to meet again ("don't know where, don't know when"). However, on days he wasn't available I visited the 3 saunas, all during evenings when garotos abound. In all cases I paid R100; when some offered a higher quote, I said 100 and they accepted without further arguement. I didn't try to bid lower. 202 surprised me with its pleasant ambiance; for some reason I remembere…

During the course of planning my trip to Brazil I've discovered a few sites and apps that have saved me money so I thought I'd write a brief guide. Cashback websites These are totally legit, quick to join and simple to use. I've been using them for many years and saved several hundred pounds. If you want to make a purchase of any significance it's always worth a quick check to see if they are present on a cashback site. In the UK they prove particularly valuable for insurance, broadband, mobile phone etc. contracts (returning £100/$125+). They are also good for flights and hotels as well as the likes of Amazon for everyday purchases. Last year a British Ai…

I believe that even visitors have free reasonable access to the "public health care system", but it is wise to obtain insurance under the so-called "private system". I understand that foreigners can also purchase private health benefits insurance directly in Brazil from Brazil-based insurance operators, at a cost less than in one's own country of origin for the same type of benefits while travelling abroad. I realize that one important consideration is coverage for repatriation travel to home country if ill or deceased. It might be prudent to have insurance purchased in your home country on a stand-alone basis, or to supplement low-cost Brazil-based coverage. …

I will attach pic of the integrated loadable card for subway, Light rail transit, and bus. I do not use the bus. I do this explanation cuz there are various card versions. This card costs just short of 8 reais and is purchased at a machine that spits it out. The machine does not provide change. Use a 5 and two 2 bills and lose the 1. Or use various combos of bills/coins. You cannot buy the card at all stations. I buy mine at the Cinelandia outdoor kiosk on the LRT platform. There are staff there to assist. Staff inside the subway tend to be stuck behind glass. They also do not load the cards with credit. Machines only. Cinelandia is close to me and I am oft…

Portuguese regular verbs - present tense. The smaller number of irregular verbs vary from the following rules. Get to know a few verbs in the "to know" infinitive form. a lot of the guys will understand a verb infinitive even when incorrectly conjugated with a preceding subject and subsequent object. I might say, for example, "I to like caipirinhas" before memorizing the present tense "I like ... " Even better, a great start is mastering present verb tense for the verbs. The verbs (infinitives) end in -ar, -er, and -ir. All present indicative verb tense forms conjugate from the stem of the infinitive, that is, the infinitive minus the ar, er, or ir. …

Last time I asked a question , the discussion turned into a fight between members! Hopefully not this time ! My question is, are there any bars /discos in Rio at the moment frequented by escorts? I do not mean the saunas . In the past we had Maxim's , Incontrus, Le Boy, Corujinha. Maxim's and Corujinha have changed its clientele and the other venues don't exist anymore. where do escorts and potential clients hang out at night ? Nowhere to go after the saunas close ? Has internet taken over completely? Sites like Netgay? Hope my questions are clear ! Thank you for any info !

A friend of mine is going to Puerto Vallarta for a week and is paying a GP from Rio US$350 a day plus all expenses and travel to join him . The friend doesn't speak Português and the GP doesn't speak English, so all communications are only physical in bed ! My friend has only been once with the GP before , some weeks ago in Rio. I have tried to warn him and suggesting he is letting his small head take control. Interested in other people's opinion. Btw , isn't Puerta Vallarte supposed to be a gay heaven with plenty of GP's to choose from ? Extra paying for someone to join from Rio to me it's a bit like bringing a sandwich to a grill party ! Wouldn't he be better off …

Virtually nothing recent on saunas outside of poa, sp, rio so fyi Olimpo thermas, Rua Timbiras, 2635, Santo Agostinho, BH, MG Supposedly the premier sauna of Belo Horizonte, visited March 19 and March 20th. Situated in a very nice neighberhood, mix of offices, residences, very safe area. The sauna is in a beautifully restored house. You can google their site and the photos are accurate, a very very clean well - appointed interior, the usual amenities, not as big as 117 but just as clean and obviously well run. The staff greeted us the second night and welcomed us back. Great 'hot' steam sauna, a must for me. Choice of free cabini's (clean but a single bed…

I am heading back t o Merida Mexico next weekend, this wasn't planned but my relator called and said 3 houses that he thinks I would like came on the market and I should see them ASAP as he didn't think they would last long. I said that the airfares were reasonable but this being the high season there wasn't anyplace to rent for the weekend in the location I wanted! He said "no problem you can stay at my place in the guest house!" I should explain that this was the 2nd realtor I was dealing with on my last trip there as they do not have MLS in Mexico and each realty firm has their own listings, you need to work with several agents to see everything that is available. …

About 10 maybe 12 years ago you could find the guy on the left and the one on the right working in the Rio saunas and the one on the left did a number of gay porn films! This photo was taken recently at LadiesClub a straight dance club that has about a 1/2 dozen male strippers performing. Over the years quite a few of the Point and 117 guys worked here! Ladies club has been open at least 12 years if not longer! If i can find one of the stills from his porn days i will post it! He was cute and was always muscular evev back then!
