  1. I suspect not Keith, but if they did it would be a step in the right direction ie a Gogo opening in the Complex. Perhaps with the bar being busy the owner will be able to generate some tea money for the bib, following which a relaxation of rules could occur. i will be visiting in two weeks to see for myself.
  2. Thanks Olddaddy. I’ve never met the owner of Winner - if I do I would thank him for the pleasure his boys have given me over the years.
  3. I’m due in Pats in about 4 weeks. I’m undecided where to stay BT AREA or in the Complex. I’ve always enjoyed gogos and prefer them to the Complex bars. Am I right in saying that BT gogos open at the moment are Classic, X-boys, Abomb and Toy Boys ?. What are the boys wearing whilst on stage ?. Winner in Sunee has been a favourite of mine Any member been there recently ?.
  4. Over the years I have found boys to be lazy when it comes to walking . Typically after offing in Sunee their reaction to the suggestion to walk to my hotel in BT would be that it’s too far and that we should go by motor bike. The same would apply to the distance from the Complex to the gay beach. Their preference is nearly always to take motor bikes or taxis rather than baht buses. Going back to the subject of this thread and thinking of my next trip in early September, any opinions as to the best gogo for twinks in Pattaya, or has the momentum shifted more towards the Complex or online (Grindr / Romeo) since I was last there 6 months ago ?.
  5. What’s your biggest budget item ?- perhaps I can be shocked also ! I guess it might be chicken and cashew nuts.
  6. Overall I suspect for the majority of us, the cost of accommodation is a lesser expenditure item. For my trips to Thailand the cost of boys is my biggest budget, ahead of hotels, airfares, drink, food and transportation. I like to stay in lower cost hotels (in Pattaya, BT area or the Complex) but selecting the better room options.
  7. You are very right there Vinapu about the maze of corridors and floors at the Ambiance. A few times I’ve got lost when returning there after a few drinks after climbing the stairs and finding myself unable to locate my room. The only solution was to return to the ground floor and start again taking note of landmarks like the large vase and any room signposts. On another occasion whilst in the room, the phone rang so say that I had a visitor. I told the clerk to send him up, but 10 minutes later the boy from Grindr had not appeared so I had to go searching and found him sat on the stairs, also lost. I think years ago the present hotel would gave been two or even three separate units.
  8. I’ve stayed at the Ambience a few times over 20 years but stopped in about 2017 due to excessive noise from a late night karaoke bar at approx 3 am. However I tried the hotel again in June last year and after about midnight it was relatively quiet. But that was at the end of covid and things had not really got going, so maybe it’s back to “I did it my way” echoing down BT again. Perhaps a member knows ?
  9. Didn’t you go upstairs to the dark maze floor and see the cubicles in which most of the fucking takes place ? Or at least it did when I made my last visit just before Covid. The steam room then was a no-sex zone - more for socialising. Asian guys over 60 ? Really ?
  10. As to summer vacation destinations for gays from U.K. and other Northern European countries I would say that Spanish Mediterranean resorts are the most popular followed by those in Greece or maybe Portugal. I myself used to go to Maspalomas on the island of Gran Canaria where being much younger 20 years ago and rather fit I very much enjoyed the beach (there is a gay section) and the thriving nightlife. The travel involved only relatively short flights of around 4.5 hours with mainland resorts only about 3 hours and once there, gays experience zero significant problems. SE Asia principally Thailand attracts a small and declining older (+50 years) minority for all the reasons covered in this forum, attracted by Asian guys and the exotic ambience . I only know of one other who has visited South America (Brazil & Cuba),
  11. Yes I remember those glory days Dongtan in years 2001/2 . Any ladies or str couples making the mistake of sitting there would quickly realise that they were in the wrong section of the beach unless they were there for a little voyeuring watching us gays with our Thai boyfriends. But you are right about just going there to relax and enjoy sea breezes and have a small meal and perhaps reading a book purchased from one of the second hand bookshops. Agree about Koh Larn for a day trip, although it gets rather crowded in high season. Nual or “monkey beach” at the south end of the island is my usual choice despite being some distance from the ferry. Some boys enjoy the trip away from the chaos of Pattaya.
  12. Londoners account has just resonated with me as it has similarities to my own experience. My first visit to Thailand was in year 2001 in company with another gay friend. We had been discussing going on holiday to Spain in a gay pub when a stranger joined our conversation by recommending we go instead to Thailand, specifically to Pattaya, where he said we could enjoy lots of sex with attractive young guys. He spent some time giving us essential travel information such as flights, transport, where to stay, etc etc, at the conclusion of which we decided to take his advice and go a few weeks later. For us it was an incredible three weeks, not just for the sex (there was plenty of that, specifically with twinks from the BT and Sunee gogos) but as for Londoner the sights, sounds and smells of the exotic atmosphere, and also for the low cost with £1 purchasing 70 baht. I can’t remember whether we actually went to the beach on that trip - the bars and boys were probably too much of a magnet, but I certainly took advantage during subsequent visits when beach pickups were an additional source of boys for my bed, rather than the less than ideal sea and sand at Dongtan. Short visits to Bkk did later in my life feature including several to Babylon, but as a twink lover Pattaya has always been the place for me, despite visits over the years to a few of the well known other beach resorts.
  13. Totallyoz That’s a really helpful reply to my question - it shows we can learn a lot from this forum. Love that twink !.
  14. Krazy Dragon - great memories for me also. I used to love it when the guys (note not twinks) used to hop from table top to table top. Never saw one fall off. A small wad of 20 baht notes bought lots of fun. What’s with this fetish with twinks and lensless spectacles ?. Maybe a factory had a faulty production run of frames and is now promoting this as a fashion.
  15. Twinks in abundance in JC suffering from a shortage of daddy wallets !. I must get my next trip organised to help correct this unfortunate situation. Presumably the same oversupply is also found in the BT and Sunee gogos,?
  16. Taking Olddaddy’s definition of meeting guys, I’ve racked my brains for a contribution to this enjoyable thread. i have mentioned already encounters with boys on the gay beach years ago which sometimes lead to playing with their cocks in the waves and once or twice an hour or so in bed with them back at the hotel. I was beach fit in those days and very horny when beach boys were in the vicinity and had no inhibitions about approaching them despite failures. Much more recently, perhaps 5 years ago, I remember trying to pick up a boy from the street. Whilst staying at the Ambiance I had walked down around midday to Tukcom with vague ideas about buying a cheap phone, but first decided on a latte coffee whilst sitting outside from where you can view people passing on the footpath below. Of course my viewing was directed towards passing boys, many of which live in the vicinity. I tried a few times to smile or give a little wave to several attractive ones with zero response, until one shouted something to me but carried on past. It took me a couple of minutes to recall who he was - a boy from Cupidol Gogo whom I had bought a drink a couple of evenings previous, without offing. At that point I gave up and wandered around until going for a massage. That evening I went to Cupidol where the boy was available for me to off. I asked him later in bed, why he had not joined me that morning - his reply was something like “bar not like “. I don’t think this really meets Olddaddy’s definition but it adds to this enjoyable thread.
  17. The last time I went to the “gay” area near the toilet block about 6 months ago it was still a rather pleasant place to spend a couple of hours, but compared with former times the “gayness” was very much diluted. In between the predominately groups of older farang men was a few str couples and even the occasional single lady. I’ve nothing against the latter but I’m bemoaning the decline of what was an asset for the gay community and tourists like me. The only Asian boy was the occasional one sat with presumably his daddy looking bored. In former days a group of boys used to play volley ball by the waters edge displaying their lovely brown bodies wearing brief speedos.
  18. Spot on Vinapu - I would add to your list of annoyances: “ladies and str couples on our gay beach” I really like reading your reports particularly when, im back home. Love the pictures of chicken and cashew nuts which is also my favourite too. The dish does vary a lot in Bkk and Pats particularly with the proportion of expensive cashew nuts compared with that of the chicken and other ingredients. I always feel cheated when there are few nuts. I’ve tried a couple of times making it here in U.K. - getting chicken and cashew nuts is easy but I cannot replicate the spicy taste of the juice. The second time I tipped half of it in the waste. I must look for a good cook book or have a lesson during my next trip.
  19. Got to agree with you kokopelli3. Would not argue with your boyfriend about the fares Sunee-Complex 1 passenger / two passengers . I have never had an argument with a mocy driver - I just pay what they ask and sometimes tell them to keep any coin change. I thin’k the fare I've paid was usually 180 baht for 3 up - sounds very reasonable and it’s of course a tiny fraction of a night in gay Pattaya with a boy in bed to follow. I’ve never got into the habit of taking Bolt taxis - must try them during my next trip.
  20. When I first discovered Pattaya (year 2002 -2003) the Dongtan Gay beach was good for meeting boys underneath the umbrellas. They were easy to spot taking chairs near the end of the rows and walking occasionally to the waters edge. For a small tip you could ask one of the concession boy workers to suggest joining me (or us ) for a drink. That often led to fun in the waves or at a short time room. Doesn’t happen any more.
  21. Alone in bed on the last night ?. That’s been my experience at the end of my trips since Covid. Thoughts of the long 24 hour journey back home and potential problems when I get there, crowd out those of boys and sex. It wasn’t like that years ago when I would occasionally be saying goodbye to a “boyfriend” I had acquired on one of the longer stays or more likely having a good final night with a hottie or maybe two.
  22. I don’t disagree Olddaddy . I’ve never been to the Philippines but have heard that the boys there are into us older daddy’s . A trip there is on my “to do” list. ive played the daddy several times when I visitedPats for longer periods ( + 1 month). Then I tended to retain boys for a period after the initial off, if I got on ok with them and they could communicate. Even visiting their Isaan homes in two cases. Mostly rewarding experiences both in and out of bed, but it could be a bit expensive.
  23. Or more realistically to the daddy’s wallet
  24. Blasting along Thapraya Road at 80 kph 3 up (me, driver, twink) in the late night semi darkness, the last thing on my mind was groping. I always had a lot of respect for the motor bike taxi drivers and their skills. Having said that I was always relieved when we were deposited at the entrance to the,Complex. No doubt the boy would have looked at my nervous face with amusement.
