As much as I hate banks and the banking system....I can say that in the US (def not Mexico where I live) has banks with good benefits in respects to traveling and chargeback rights that some other countries don't.

Hardly all of my travels.....and yes, they are trophies/milestones....I don't know anyone that travels frequently that can't tell you how many countries or millions of miles they have flown, how many times they have been to a particular place....even the airlines/hotels (saunas in some cases) celebrate those milestone occasions with you.

You don't want to leave us it seems....Been to Egypt 6 times, only to Cairo. Been to Morocco a dozen times....with God knows how many Arabs in Spain... Brasil about 100 , lived there in 2004 ( and speak Portuguese) know all the sauna owners past and present and would know when Pointe was closed....but I guess it's fun being there the 1st time. ATM's are the easiest ....try to have more than 1 account in case anything goes wrong with 1, you have backup. I pay cash for everything....never heard of cloning problems here but cash is easier (hotels are generally paid online beforehand) and be careful of the 500 baht note, don't confuse them with the 100's, lol Don't forget the drinks at the gogo bars, yours and whomever you talk to whether you off them or not....plus tips, it adds up.

It's a 2 way street for me....I had 1 bar boy and 1 freelancer last week promising to do things and couldn't....just couldn't. So they broke the deal 1st and seemed surprised I only gave them moto money to get home. Anyone that keeps paying for things and blowing it off to lost in translation, drunk, tired, etc....are perpetuating this problem. We're here for a limited number of nights, in most cases, it's just wasting our time.

I'm in BKK and was just in Pattaya last week. I stayed at Classroom, easy coming and going without "your guy" doing the walk of shame in Jomtien or Boystown hotels. not sure what your type is, but Dreamboys had a bunch I liked out of anywhere..... Bolt taxi and moto are cheap enough to move between the places easy enough, I went to Jomtien to drink but never saw anyone I was interested in.

I was in last week....maybe people are desperate after 2 1/2 yrs......It's depressingly small and I didn't see anyone I'd be interested in for 1000 baht. There's more to what turned me off and I won't be going back, I might write about it later.

I went a couple of times, my friend and I laughed our asses off when this guy comes walking onto the stage. First time, I thought it was a comedy skit, something you'd see on old time TV. Like he woke up lost , wondered on stage and didn't know where he was or why he was there....I laugh just typing about this 😝
