Part 4 of 4: The Boy in Ipanema
There is a little trepidation on my part when I invited the boy to dinner, for two reasons: a.) the first two posts here in the Latin America section, which outline the various precautions one must take when dealing with Brazilian sauna boys, and b.) the high crime and murder rate in Brazil in general, and Rio in particular, whether real or hyped in the news, is seared in my brain. I was bold enough to spend my first four days in Brazil alone (in Sao Paulo), but in those days, I had the fortune of meeting two Paulistas (a hairdresser and a teacher) on Grindr (the hairdresser was even set up on the 45 minutes Uber ride from Guarulhos airport to my AirBNB in Bela Vista), who gave me the 411 on the general dos and don’ts of the city.
And even with all my experience boyhunting in Thailand, Mexico and Colombia, where various boys have stayed with me in my hotel or AirBNB without incident, and even one time I’ve even stayed in the apartment of two Chaturbate webcam boys in Colombia, and slept in their room, sandwiched in the middle between the two boys in their queen sized bed, I was still nervous about being with this Brazilian sauna boy, out and about in dangerous Rio, without the security of the sauna. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am usually a good judge of character, and not one instance in the countless encounters I’ve had, have I ever felt I was in danger.
Let’s call my Brazilian sauna boy Gabriel. To recap, Gabriel is a bleached blonde 22-year old Carioca who was tall (6’1), muscular (not steroided, huge pecs, large thighs) and versatile (enormous penis, giant bubble butt, needed lidocaine to bottom). He had the typical Brazilian looks and racial mix I was looking for. In time I’m sure I’ll explore all the colors and types that the saunas have to offer, but now, Gabriel has out-Brazilianed every Brazilian boy in the house. On a whim I invited him to have dinner with me, as my first baby step into expanding my sauna experience here in Brazil.
In the Uber, he immediately grabbed my hand and held it for most of the ride. This was a great sign, a sign that he was not afraid to be intimate with me even in the non-sexual parts of the our time together, and he was comfortable enough with me enough to do so. The few times he wasn’t holding my hand was when we were using google translate to speak to each other. My Portuguese was a little better than his English, which was to say it was still pretty bad, so if we were going to do a deep dive into each other’s lives, we had to do so with the help of the app.
He told me he lived in the edges of one of the favelas in Sao Goncalo, one of the districts of Rio northeast of Ipanema. He googles some images of the Rio-Niteroi bridge, and tells me that he crosses this bridge everyday on the way to the sauna. He is fairly athletic and is a skateboarder. He shows me some photos of him on the sakteboard, and tells me he would send over a video of him doing some amateur tricks. He asks me about my life. I give him a general version of my life. He asks me how often I go to Brazil. I type the words “This is my first trip to Brazil. And you are my first sauna boy.” I look at the translation first before giving it to him.  The word garoto pops up, so I was satisfied with the output and hand it to him.
He reads the translation and smiles. He looks up and says “Serio?” I nod “Sim!” He types a response back: I hope your trip is great. And I hope your first time in the sauna was a very good experience. I type something back in the affirmative. We get back to holding hands in the uber.  And then I realize: MISTAKE #1: I showed him all my cards too soon. I told him I was a newbie. Now I am thinking that he is going to take advantage of me, or worse. This brief but disturbing thought flashed through my head. I try to not think about it further, lest it ruin the rest of the night.
I had the Uber take us to the condo in Ipanema. We arrive and I tell Gabriel that we should go in first and get the umbrellas that the condo had, in case it rained while we were out, since it was cloudy. We get in and we hug right away. We kiss for a few minutes and then he says he was really hungry. He leaves his whore bag in the apartment (clear sign that we were going back here after dinner) and we head out.  Sure enough, it started to rain hard so we unfurl our gay rainbow umbrellas (which made Gabriel chuckle but didn’t mind it), and started to look for a restaurant that looked good. We see a nice restaurant called Armazem Devassa (image from Google):

Gabriel points to it and I nod. We walk to the maître d’ to get seated. I put up two fingers to the guy and he says “2 people?” in English. He gives us one of the outdoor tables that was protected from the rain by an awning. We get comfortable and this was out view of the wet streets of Ipanema:

We were given menus, both in English. Gabriel laughs and points to himself and says “Gringo.”  He asks for the Portugeuse language menu. We look at the menu:

Whenever I am overseas, I always prefer to try the local dishes. So I ask Gabriel what the most traditional Brazilian dish on the menu was. He looked at the menu and said that the Picadinho Carioca would be his choice for traditional meal. It was cubes of filet mignon with beans, fried bananas, farofa and a poached egg.  Sounds good. Gabriel orders the salmon, and he says this was the healthy choice because he needs to keep trim for work.  We put in our order and then we get into a conversation about his diet. He says he tries to avoid alcohol when he can. And because he has a fast metabolism, he eats a lot of eggs (around 12) in the morning to get in the protein right away. The results of his diet regime truly are remarkable. He gives me some diet tips. I’m sure I will never follow it.
Our food comes and it looks good (a little bit blurry sorry):

We eat in peace because it is hard to use google translate and have two hands free to use the fork and knife. He asks me if the food was good by pointing to my plate and then giving a thumbs up. I nod. We do a lot of grunt-talking for communication since we cannot use words. It was kind of interesting. We finish up and the waiter asks if we wanted dessert.  Both of us say “Nao” and we get the bill:

It was R$133, or $40. One of my knocks on Brazil, compared to other destinations like Thailand or Colombia, is that food is relatively expensive. Almost the same price as I would pay in the USA. My BF has warned me about this so I budgeted accordingly. This meal will hardly break the bank, and it was a fitting last dinner for what was an intense and fun Brazil trip for me. It is also fitting that I share my last dinner in Brazil with a sauna boy. I pay with my credit card (haven’t had problems using it, or my ATM, in the country).
Before we leave, Gabriel shows me his phone. It was Google Translate, asking me if I wanted to go anywhere else. I shake my head and say “apartamento” as we open our umbrellas to shield us from the light rain. Even with the skies opening up, there were still a lot of people in the various bars that we walked past on the way home. I was slightly disappointed by the weather here in Rio in my last three days. But with such excellent company presently, I hardly had any cause for complaint.
As we get to the apartment gate, we get buzzed in by the doorman, so I did not need to use my key. No issues getting Gabriel in, as we exchange “Boa noites” with the doorman on our way to the elevator. We get to the unit and and as I fiddle with the keys to unlock the door, Gabriel puts his hands on my shoulders, gentling massaging them. He was ready to head in as well to continue our night. I finally unlock the door. Gabriel immediately takes off his shirt. He is getting comfortable. He sits on the couch and checks his phone.
I sit beside him and he leans over to kiss. We make out for a bit and then he starts taking off my shirt. I toss it over to the side and go over and sit on his lap and keep on kissing. His hands explore my back for a bit as put my hands on face. I whisper “Quarto?” to his ear. He answers me by picking me up! That was unexpected. He maneuvers both of us to the bedroom and he lays me down on the bed. He takes off my shorts, and then he starts taking off his. I can already see my prize: that big bulge that is barely contained in his speedos.
My eyes drift for a bit to the wall behind Gabriel and see the clock. It was 10:45 PM.  Almost time for Gabriel to leave. As he lies down beside me, I look at the window and see outside that the rain still pouring down on Ipanema. Then a crazy idea popped in my head. I retrieve my shorts from the floor and find my phone. I type something in Google Translate that was MISTAKE #2: “Do you want to stay here tonight? It is still raining and the bed is comfortable.” He looks at me and says “Yes!” in English.
I was not thinking clearly. I was not expecting company tonight, especially a garoto, so all my stuff was just strewn everywhere in the house. I was not thinking about the dangers of having a working boy in my room, especially in Brazil. All the warnings in this forum, all the precautions given by my friends, and all the research I’ve made about crime here, all that went out the window, into the soaked streets of Rio, draining onto the south Atlantic. And how could any mortal think clearly, under these heavenly circumstances, in the presence of angels.
So, a bonus post, more sex, and more mistakes, next…

It is close to the airport true and it is the building next to the italian consulate. But the only 2 times i've been on that road after 10PM, have been enough to show me to don't go to centro at night :D. Once the road Av. Mal. Câmara (just behind the new sauna) was closed because of a shooting occurred between police and criminals. The second time a worker at the italian consulate got nearly killed during an attempted (and failed) assault.
I'm not saying that this cannot happen in Copacabana or Gloria....i'm saying that it's in the beginning of the wrong side or Rio. If i'm not wrong SDU closes at 11PM. I would and i will make sure to leave before that time, since that road already has little to no traffic at 10PM. It's not a very dangerous area, but it's neither a very safe area. I'd say quite dangerous when the airport is closing and the consulates in the near buildings are already empty from hours.
Of course i don't pretend to make a prediction....mine is a guess, since i will anyway go to the new sauna one day. But for some reasons I'm thinking it will have the same boys of NMM; which I don't like. Hopefully I'll be wrong.

On big trips, Paris, London, etc., I say the trip is the payment. I still agree to provide spending money and a few gifts, but for most guys the experience is once in a lifetime. I once had a Brazilian ask for 1K a day to go with me to Vegas.
There is too much pau in the forest to pay for that kind of wood.

I think that this is the most secret information in this forum. I have never seen a user posting suggestions of an Airbnb place (there's just one recent exception, from a user who suggested a couple of guys who has some good apartments in Copa and Ipa listed on Airbnb).
Rsrsrs people don't want to run the risk of having their favorite apartments occupied during their planned stay in Brazil

Lord knows I have bought too many of those damn things in Thailand. But, the deal I made with the boyfriends years back is that if they finished 3 terms of English language school, I'd buy them a bike.  I had 8 boys living with me then.  I think I had to buy 8 bikes at about the same time. The lesson I learned, why give a fuck if they speak English or not. I can hire an interpreter for much less money.

Regrets in life are usually what we didn't do....not what we did.

If you do it and it gets denied, then you can say you tried....at $160 will not cause a financial crisis. If you do nothing, you'll wonder......

Many people never try to get the visa because of all the negative comments...I've seen street food vendors get approved, depends on the mood of the interviewing officer.

no connections to gringos...invitation letters only work in cases of Student and family visas when they want proof that someone will be financially responsible for the visiting person and can prove it through tax returns.....so do it, what do you have to lose $160 usd.... he already has his passport from Brasil, no?

Tix and other shit isn't bought until the visa is issued.....if you stick to the lies I said to have him tell.....depending on the interviewing officer, he might get it....but you'll never know if you don't try.. Worse thing that happens is they say no, and he can apply again after 6 months and the same officer that denied him can 't do the interview again.

Fee is $160 usd for the appointment...non-refundable....don't buy tix ahead of time.  If he is approved then get them (Like Ferrar said...when the economy was good, they were giving them to just about anyone that applied, not the case now).

I've been through this in Mexico and the same "rules" follow.

You'd think being somewhat honest is the best route to go...it is not.

You have to tell them what they want to hear.....he lives at home and helps his family pay bills, he is going to Disney World or Las Vegas as a tourist, he doesn't know anyone there (they'll think they are staying if they say yes)...the application is quite long, online and has stupid questions....have him fill it out himself....why is he going alone...he asked his friends and they don't want to go but is his dream to see one of those places....how long is he planning to stay, 5-7 days, how is he paying for the trip...money he has been saving up..... will he return...of course, his family counts on him.

No talk about knowing you or any other gringos.... this is only to get the visa, the roundtrip tix and other questions about funds will be when he arrives in the USA, Immigration will want to know that stuff to let him enter....still no mention of knowing gringos...even with a visa, he can be refused entry at that point...total discretion on the officer's part....so chose your airport of entry/connection wisely, lol

    Thanks everyone for the information.
I've landed in Sao Paulo 2 days ago and am having a really sexual-riffic time.  Stopped by Lagoa as soon as my plane landed (I skipped checking into my hotel since I travel light) on Friday night and it was nice and crowded, with garotos.  I agree with most posters on here, that Lagoa is a paradise for visually stunning, muscled, delicious, AF model, pretty boy, mouth watering fit boys...since SP is a cosmopolitan city, the boys here are truly melting pot... if you want light skinned -- you got it...and if you want a nice dark carioca type -- you got it also.  The only commonality I see (and experienced) with the boys is that their dicks are HUGE, un-ashamingly, un-humanly, in-credibly, a breathtaking,...staggering, superhuman piece of art.
Two notes of advice regarding logistics of arriving at the GRU airport.  #1: DO NOT exchange cash at the cambio exchange counter, with all the taxes and fees it adds on to your exchange, you'll get ripped off.  I exchanged 200USD cash and got only 480 Real.  I didn't know any better and when I realized that I can get 640 Real, I saddened a little...that's one sex session with a garotos for a generous rate of 160...I hate it that the first thing that fucked me in Brazil was the cambio exchange counter and not a Brazilian man -- oh well, bygones.  DO USE atm machines (they're everywhere) or exchange cash at the cambio exchange in the shopping malls on Paulista Ave.  #2: Upon arrival, I bypassed the airport bus since the line was quite long.  GRU airport has free internet for 60 minutes, so I was able to get online via my Iphone and booked Uber...from GRU to the Vila Clementino neighborhood was 66 Reals ~ 21 USD...super fast and super cheap....super convenient too, as I walked past the crowds of loud angry people waiting for the airport bus into the city and was taken direct to Lagoa.
Back to the main topic at hand,...Day #1, Friday night at Lagoa,...in 2012 when I visited Brazil for the first time and didn't know what I was doing, I heeded the wise advice of many users on this forum and never went for my 1st eye catch inside the sauna.  Well, in 2018, I've decided to try something different, after sitting in between 2 obnoxious, talkative model-wannabe girls on a really long plane ride to Brazil, I wanted to re-live all the hot sex I had in 2012, ASAP.  I didn't wait and look around like I did back in 2012, I didn't shop for all of the 30+ garatos in Lagoa on a bustling Friday night; this time, upon entering Lagoa, I was the shark and I am hunting.  I knew what I wanted and I wasted no time.  While most customers were enjoying the unsually tall and un-handsomely ugly drag queen on stage mis-lip-synching (I don't think she learned the lyrics, or maybe her lip pronunciation was off), I found my prey in 10 minute, a "dark skinned macho Brazilian",...the straight type who I guess and imagined, has a wife and 2 kids depending on him as a bread winner; whose dick was as hard as oak and as slithering as a serpent.  I looked at him and smiled, hinted for him to come over.  With my phone and Google translate in hand, I communicated with him the topic of what's important to me.  Beija?  Check!  Tu Activo?  Check!  Penetracao lenta e suave, odeio rapido e duro?  Check! Quanto Para Sexo?  100 Reals...Check!  Posso ver sue pau?...CHECK!  From there, we got a cabine.  I love that the cabines in Lagoa has a a nice large mirror for you to stare into as you are having sex --  I love being lost in lust as I watch the big butt of the macho Brazilian gyrate, pound, push, pull, and jackhammer me....he made me came, without touching myself.  My goal of the night was to have 2 garotos on my first night, but after this one did such a good job, I left to go check-in my hotel, I was content and satisfied.
Day #2, Saturday night at Lagoa... the previous night, I arrived at Lagoa a little late,... after doing the perfunctory attractions and chores in the morning, ie: visiting Japan-town (Libradade) to get my Japanese street food fix and visiting MASP, I aimed to arrive in Lagoa early, around 17h.  From my 2012 trip, I learned that there are 2 types of garotos at Lagoa, the first type garotos is humble and will need to go home early to his family once he's earned enough, he'll have 1 or 2 customers, then leave early, if you want too long, you will miss him and regret it; and the second type, the professional who aims to turn as many tricks as possible and stays there a really long time.  Tonight, I wanted type 1 garotos, so I arrived at the sauna a little early.  My early bird approach came with rewards, I found a light-skinned, dark hair, naturally bulk muscular, thick legs and thick chest (he's not the steroidal big chested scrawny leg type you see a lot in Brazil), smooth skinned, "Bel Ami AF type garotos."  I asked him how much, he said 200 Reals, which I thought was sorta high, but I was willing to play along for this caliber, considering that it will cost MUCH more to find a specimen of this grade in the States.  I asked him if he is "quality" at sex or just pretty to look at, he says both.  I asked to see his dick first to test his level of agree-ableness and he showed me a "pau" more beautiful than the "dark skinned macho Brazilian" I enjoyed the night previously.  My ears perked, I salivated, swallowed my saliva, then I had Google Translate negotiate a rate of 150 Reals with him -- he smiled and agreed.  In the cabine, I muscle worshiped him like a willing slave.  I surrendered to him like a puppy with legs on its back,... he was a proud natural-isqe bodybuilder type, with a deep sexy Brazilian grunting voice.  He kept smiling and winking at me as I licked every sinewy curve and muscle on his body...the only part he didn't enjoy as much was when I licked his clean delicious fuzzy iron-gate asshole, clearly no one has been to that territory before and I helped open his world up a little bit.  I like that he didn't rush the session, he let me take my time.  Once I was ready, I hoped on him like a seasoned cowboy and rode his bull like I was at the rodeo.  He bucked me, and tonight, I was the willing prey.
With the "Bel ami AF type garotos", I thought my luck was at its peak.  Yet, I was greedy and later found an incredibly "tall light-skinned tattooed cover" garotos who was near the TV in the back watching football and eating his meal.  He is probably by far the tallest garotos there, I mean Empire State building size.  I've had my share of tall men, but this has got to be the tallest.  He seemed so focus on the TV, I pulled up a chair, sat next to him and smiled.  45 minutes and 120 Reals later, I was content and satisfied.
The quality and performance of the boys at Lagoa has been excellent, but I'm always a connoisseur for spice and variety.  I'll check out sauna Fragata tomorrow and will update ya'll accordingly...

On January the 25th I wrote about Point 202 having become the biggest sauna night in Rio, and about the danger of this fact (or factoid) going to Junior's head and he start to spoil the whole thing, based on his past behavior. Well, sorry to say, it has begun already. As this week, the Point Wednesday became the most expensive night in Rio! The fee increase, albeit small, tell a lot about things to come. I well remember, in a not very distant past, when Point would charge an additional entrance fee on all nights that had free suites, certainly an all time classic on the annals of tackiness in Rio's sex scene. Doing well is not something he can deal naturally, he has to make sure about his arrival and sadly re-start down the road all over again. Will Monik have the last laugh? The guy is helpless!

I stayed for 4 days in Santo Domingo, Dominican republic in January 2018.
The weather was nice during the winter season.  Grinder is popular here and I got dozens of messages every day.  I also found a boy house, with an average of 5 to 9 boys at the house.  The name of the house is Juanbinbin (use google map to find the location, which is in zona colonial).  It has an Instagram account "juanbinbin11" with some boys photos posted.  The price is 2000 pesos or $50 US dollars, room included. All the available boys would gather for the client to pick one up.
Zona colonial and calle El conde were quiet and I didn't find any particularly interesting.  Cine Lido and Bar friends were closed long time ago.
In conclusion, I am not impressed by the city of Santo Domingo.
