  1. Considering the typical behaviour of their people in Pattaya, I hope not too much of the increasing demand is coming from their home region (middle East).

Generally, they are a transit air carrier. And for really Qataries Pattaya has not enough gold and diamonds, I hope. On the second thought - perhaps, it is done for us, for Russians?! :). QR has free fleet now, because of the current political situation.

  2. Wow! I was hoping to visit Chiang Mai by their flight, but with U-Tapao flights I could miss CM again :))))

    So tempting...

Not a very poor product, they just ordered 3+3+3 sits scheme (as the most air carriers did), although Boeing advertised it as 2+4+2 sits scheme. 787 is a bit narrow, than 777, so when it is 3+3+3 scheme, the sits are narrow too.

  3. Had some issues with Uber drivers in BKK: not best routes were chosen and complete lost in sois, although I gave them a phone with Thai speaking people at the other end (I visited some remote spas). Or maybe it was a business strategy to continue the trip?

Perhaps rides in other direction - to well-known hotels or malls - would be better. One of those ladies take cash from me for paying a toll, then creatively add it to invoice as well.

The decision next time was to use a taxi, but firstly checking the price at Uber and Grab. Worked well.

  4. 2 Boy69: it's worth to mention, that Vinapu started this report with words "my 16th trip to Thailand" - so being there 16 times he really knows his ways there

2 Spoon: we could have problems, visiting a bar or massage shop together "not too big, must be ripped, not too flabby, but want bubble butt, not too dark but want them to be manly, handsome model like".

Although, being an orang putih (a white skin Russian), I am quite OK with "too dark", if all others qualities are in place. So I can take those, who darker :)

  5. What is a coyote dancer?

That was my question too: wtf is a coyote dancer in BBB?! And why are you talking me about 800 now, when it was 500 just 4,5 months ago?! :)

There were some boys, who danced at small stages around the club with the bulk of guys just stayed "still" at the big stage. The first were named coyotes (with inflated off price until 23:00, still negotiable).

  6. Spooky story.

My experience was more in massage centers (thanx Spoon for some helpful guidance) and one masseur from such the center visited me at my place.

On a previous trip I visited a freelancer masseur "incall" once - wasn't worth repeating, fake photos, weak service, eventually went to my 'experience' category.

Most MBs are from neighboring countries - Indonesians and Vietnamese, as I see.

    Strange for me things:

    - freelancers are moving among Malaysian cities: a week in KL, two days in Ipoh, four days at Penang, back to KL, a week in Johor Baru (the last one, I think, for Singapore clients?)

    - weird price structure: 'full service' in a centre costs 200 rm (with the boy getting 100-150 rm from it, I believe) and a freelancer incall/outcall is priced at 300/350/400 rm. So, logically an incall at 200 rm is already profitable and with most Uber/Gett round trips certainly inside 50 rm, an outcall at 250 is profitable too. So, logically it looks like 200/250, but guys ask 300/350 and they believe in it.

  7. I mean, don't deeply elaborate your plan basing only at one short-term interaction. You don't know his life situation well, some things he told you he could tell you only to please one night customer (I am not saying it's bad, just it could be). Do you chat with him in Line weekly or so?

And to have an escape plan sounds nice - if it is your own country, yes, a ticket back to Thailand and you are OK, but if it is another country you need plan B and plan C what to do by yourself :)

Anyway, it's better to go to Bangkok (just 2 hours!!) and see the guy, than asking us here ;)

Some trips around Bangkok like to Ayuthaya or Old City, will show if you are fine spending time together.

  8. Scooby, actually the OP's second post mentioned 700 baht :)

Stayed at VT1, VT2, VT5 and VT7 at different hots' rooms through Airbnb, yes all depends on the particular host. No slightest questions regarding my visitors. Although too many Russians were in VT5 and I was feeling not easy sometimes in the lift, but it shouldn't apply to people from other countries. I liked the most VT2, not sure why. Of course, the view from seaside high floors of VT5 and VT7 should be more pleasant but by its own cost.

Didn't know, that they are at Booking.com now as well - thanx

  9.

BurBoy has recently finished his Level 2 english classes from the Dear Burma Academy, and I am impressed by how much more improved his english has become. He texts in complete sentences now, and our video calls are more conversational. I am looking forward to seeing him in a few weeks to see in person how much it has improved. Downside is I won't be able to talk over him when I am with faring friends, as he would probably understand the conversation, more than he has had before.

    That is nice.

I've sent DearBurma link to another Burmese guy, not sure if he was aware about their English classes at special price

  10. I have no problem believing that the average Egyptian who travels to Thailand is richer than the average Australian who travels to Thailand. Australia has a sizeable middle class, Egypt doesn't have one. In other words, only rich Egyptians can travel overseas, but your average Aussie can.

Yep, but the topic was about inbound travel industry in whole - how many those Egyptians come to Thailand and what are their total expenses (= income for Thailand)? At the same pic an average Chinese tourist beats an average Aussie as well :)

A bit wierd statistics, as I see it.

  11. Strange data:

    - people from Sri-Lanka spend as much as Australians?

    - people from Egypt(!) spend more than Australians and near the same as from Singapore and Hong Kong?

Of course, there are wealthy people in every country, but how much rich Egyptians choose Buddhist Thailand? At least, should be arrivals or total spending mentioned.

  12. Now, in light of the current crackdown on illegal workers, I'm wondering how much this may have played into MonBoy's decision to return home.

I'm inclined to believe that although it factors into the boys' thinking, the resourceful will continue to take their chances and seek their fortunes in BKK and Pattaya.

    Was sent this recently:

Judging by English text, it's not so cruel.
