I have a habit of giving my leftover small change , if any , to a airport cleaners.

From zillion of visits in bars I doubt  that practice of tipping mamasan 100 / 200 baht is that wide spread , specially in more popular bars where crowds are arriving for the show and leaving right after and most of audience is East / South East Asians, not exactly famous for coming from tipping cultures.

Not that reports about lavish tipping are exaggerated, I was witness myself of boys being tipped 1000 baht for just being on the stage, not even fully undressed, but those were boys , not waiters or mamasans.

Thanks so much. I find myself always defending Toy Boys regarding the boys outside. Could there be a boy who reserves himself for women? Sure, I guess. He is not a slave. I have never had a problem. As to paying the off and reserving a guy; well I do it all the time. Sometimes I pay for the next night and have him come early so we can go to dinner. Christian, I may have pissed you off about this. Sorry! Really, I do it all the time - if I pay in advance it is "first come first served".

I just spend several days at the Intercontinental Hotel in Pattaya. It was a great experience. The staff were amazing and catered to my every need.  My Thai BF and I were both treated great from every one.  The pools are amazing and the breakfast buffet is great.

I did meet up with a few guys I new for hookups and the hotel walked them to my room.

I think the hotel use to be the Sheraton or another chain. It is next to Royal Cliff Hotel.

I had a great room with a view of the sea, gardens and pool. Breakfast was not included in the rate I booked but they comped me anyway being a Spire Elite Member. The met me with a nice plate of fruit and chocolate.  My only complaint is that the minibar had Pepsi products and I hate that.   I'm more of a Coke guy. But, if that is my biggest complain, that says a lot.

Great hotel and great experience and highly recommended.

as with many other venues it seems that it is another case of "go and try yourself " as even reports in this thread cover all spectrum from happy to disappointed.

It doesn't mean anybody is wrong, different people go with different expectations or our visit just felled on the wrong /particularly good day and we tend to extrapolate our experience as universal.

I don't frequent saunas so don't take sides on the subject but freshly recall my two visits in ABomb in Jun , two days apart.

First time I felt I'm spoiled for  abundant choice, next time it was barely two boys I cold hang my eyes on. So two different people following me each on separate day could have opposite impressions even if each shares my taste.

I understand you are asking about Oasis ?

Its on Suriwong between Patpong and Tarntawan Hotel soi, well posted  but easy to miss because place is small and above street level with 5-7 steps to climb. Run by farang with Thai wife, Open only evenings and nights.

As for worth going to ? I only can answer for myself, I like it and consider their chicken with cashew nuts best everywhere.
No trip to Thailand goes without me dining there , either alone or with forum friends not to mention several boys I forced to climb those stairs. So for me definitely yes. As for others it depends , over years I got few PM's saying that people were disappointed with my accolades about the place. But the same can be said about my other favorite places - Foodland Patpong and Old Heidelberg Pattaya.

This doesn't stop  few of our members proclaiming along with me that those places are great . So as usual , all is matter of taste. Go and try for yourself and then you will know.

Since I treat restaurants everywhere in very utilitarian way - I go there when I'm hungry , don't look at  me as food expert at all.

I have found that a good time to visit Sansuk Sauna is on Buddha Holidays when the Bars are closed and the boys have free time. On my last holiday May/June this year there were many boys present and I had a great time with several horny boys on one of the Buddha days.

Yes I can confirm what Biguyby says. I think Punya would quickly hear about it if asking for money became prevelent rather than the exception. However there always used to be a number of Thai boys present around the pool who were obviously looking for farang boyfriends or more likely daddies. When they did venture upstairs into the maze they were quickly the centre of attraction, but I dont think having fun there was the motive.
I remember a number of years ago when boys were available on the gay beach I occasionally took one to the Sansuck, to have sex there rather than,in an ST room.

Punya, the Sansuk owner does not allow money boys to operate in the facility. I have however been asked for money by by a couple of boys but it's very rare.

The next day follows the now established pattern. I work and caffeinate while Bangkok Guy dozes. At midday the magic switch goes off and he rises, bathes, flirts and we end up entwined and happy in bed. He goes to class and I alternate between the pool, working in the room and a little shopping.

In the evening he arrives looking sharp in a dress shirt, pressed khakis and black sneakers, ready for his first experience of French cuisine. I complement him on his appearance – “borrowed, friend’s, borrowed” he says with a grin, pointing at his shirt, trousers and shoes.  And then “Mine”, pointing at his face.

The walk to the Water Library takes us down an alleyway past a local hole in the wall restaurant with plastic chairs. I suggest we should eat there, given how cheap and good the food was on the footpath last night. “We could” he replies, returning the ball to me with a level gaze and slight smile, before continuing with national pride that a politician would love to bottle: “In Thailand we eat good food cheap”.

Water Library’s décor is modern and chic. We order the tasting menu to enable him to try a variety of things and a German Riesling Kabinett which I think may be sweet enough for him to enjoy without making me choke. He really takes to the wine - “No alcohol” – and I warn him that the wine is in fact deceptive, carrying a full load of alcohol under the sweet honey floral flavor that he is enjoying (it is an excellent wine) and swirl the wine in the glass to show him the ‘legs’ that form, revealing the presence of the alcohol. He swirls the wine in his glass, observing the ‘legs’ but unsure how this reveals something that he equates with raw and harsh. He photographs the bottle and I hope I have not opened the door to a bad habit.

Each course is served with a flourish and a breathless description of its construction, which I ask to be repeated in Thai. It is then photographed carefully and eaten slowly and thoughtfully, well, at least by him. I am no gourmand and prefer a couple of solid courses to a long stream of small bites, with the result that while he savors I bolt down each course and then look at the plate in surprise – gone? We discover that he is not a fan of salmon, but discounting those two servings the meal is a hit …. although still not a match for Thai food. We both agree the favorite so far is the porkbelly with eggs from Baan Suriyasai. However, when the dessert arrives it is a modern French triumph. The presentation is superb, serious photography is called for and I am enlisted to photograph it from my side of the table too. We both eat it thoughtfully, working out what the flavors are and what is the mysterious powder in the tall glass compote containing the little mango sorbet sticks – lightly toasted rice powder is his guess.

We continue after dinner to the Bamboo Bar at the Mandarin Oriental where an excellent pianist is playing to a room at about one third capacity. Still no vocalist! Bangkok Guy decides he has had enough alcohol and gets a fruit juice while I get a Sazerac and we settle in to enjoy the music. Later we walk down to the river terrace where my duties as pictorial social diarist are invoked and I ‘photoshoot’ him walking around. He edits the results and is very happy. He looks me in the eyes: “Thank you very much, for everything”. He is sincere, although I suspect a smidgen of ‘In Vino Veritas’ is involved.

Back at the hotel preparing for bed I run through the planned activities for the next few days: dinner at another Thai restaurant, Thai boxing as I have never been (Bangkok Guy’s eyebrows migrate halfway up his forehead when he hears this, so he is onto it) and a Mediterranean meal the following evening. Something about Bangkok Guy’s indulgent hooded smile makes me think of the way I look at him when one of his quirks is amusing me, but of course that is different. “A lot of organize” Bangkok Guy says, smiling.

nicely wrapped difference between residents and visitors.

Having regulars is option  not available to visitors like me so we may be inclined to pay more just not to miss an opportunity while resident may wait until his offer is accepted , if not today , day after tomorrow.

I agree about most boys not being greedy if they sense possibility regular or even second encounter, they are not stupid and know that 1000 today and 1000 tomorrow is still more than say, 1700 right away.

From my experience excessive tip requests are not out of greed , rather from some business acumen as they see spark in our eyes and think  ' hey , he is horny , let's try"

I am resident in Pattaya and 1000 ST is accepted from go go and host bars. I don't go to Bangkok much or BBB bar in Pattaya where the big tips are expected. I never have paid 1500 ST but have given extra for taxi, food etc. Regulars from the apps in Pattaya are 700 to 800 baht ST and some of them work in go go bars. Most guys are not greedy and happy to have a regular customer. If you are here on a short vacation spend whatever you like and enjoy.
