  1. I try to avoid flying on American or United. I do not have much experience with Delta but they seem much better. Though they also just got themselves into some bad PR this past week. My Itinerary going to Asia is to fly Southwest from my local airport to Los Angeles. Then fly with EVA or Cathay Pacific to the Philippines. They both have flights to Cebu City/Mactan Airport so I can avoid Manila. One trip 6 years ago I broke my leg shortly before departing on a Non-Refundable Flight booked with Cathay Pacific. I also did not have Trip Insurance so I thought I was screwed. But after contacting them they had me send a letter from my Doctor and a request for a refund. And they did it!!! I also like EVA because I can stop over it Taipei. But I have had problems with them twice on their cancelling flights on short notice. Worked things out, but not a good thing to deal with. And my worse experience was getting bumped by ANA on my flight from Manila to Japan, that was connecting with United to Denver, and Denver back home in NM. I had checked in early and was waiting to board when they called my name. I was told the flight had a problem and some passengers would need to take a later flight. Not even an offer of compensation!! Of course I threw a fit!! I showed the Gate Agent my ongoing tickets with United. Finally I was the last passenger allowed to board. I think they bumped a number of Japanese passengers and that made a difference. Got on the 777 and the entire back of the plane was roped off. I was told there was a problem with the Rear Exit Door and so no one was permitted to be seated beyond the Middle Exits. WOW!!! My advice now, is always purchased Trip Insurance!! It usually costs me USD200 to 300. Depends on the value of the trip. And it includes Medical. Well worth it for the peace of mind. Of course if you get compensated for being bumped you do not get anything from the Insurance. But if you or your Spouse or Domestic Partner has a medical problem that requires you to cancel the trip to take care of him, you will be reimbursed by the Insurance. Cheers!!
  2. Are maybe to make the higher profits they are feeding to their stock holders; rather lower fares than for their paying passengers. The bottom line is US airlines are terrible. In many respects that is just how it is...
  3. OH then maybe this OLD Dad can qualify?? But rather it be two hot Twinks!!!
  4. Well, I pulled the Trigger, so to speak. I booked the Grand Deluxe Room at The Raya. The rate was US$74 per night on Hotels.com US$96 per night at The Raya website. US$99 per night on Expedia. Looking forward to enjoying the Rain Shower and the Lumpy Pillows!!! And Yes I think Expedia has bought up many to the booking websites.
  5. Many thanks for calling the De Arni directly!! Yes, having to get into a bathtub to shower is not an option for me. So sounds like The Raya is the best choice. As to the rates, I will check some more. The biggest difference is whether you want to books with cancellation option or go all in!! And the term Superior and Deluxe are always misleading! Which is which???
  6. I will be visiting Bangkok for 6 nights in November. I usually have stayed at the Tarntawan or the Siam Heritage. But based on comments here I am considering The Raya or The Arni. I have a bad leg, arthritis in one hip, so walking many blocks is not the best for me. I will be coming with my BF from the Philippines. So Offs are not my objective; however, enjoying the bars and getting to the BTS are. So The Raya is attractive for being close to the Go Go Bars and also for getting over to Telephone Bar and DJ Disco. But maybe too close?? I can book the Grand Deluxe on Hotels.com for USD74 per night. (Lower than on Agoda) The Arni is also close enough I can walk to Soi Twilight and over to Silom. And it seems a bit more out of the action. Which I perfer. I have not stayed there so I am unsure about the rooms. The Standard Shower Room is USD67 per night. And the Deluxe Room with Bathtub is USD76 per night. Can any of you tell me more about the Arni? How are the rooms?? Does the Shower Room have a nice glass shower? And is the shower in the Deluxe Room with Bathtub in the tub or separate? A shower in the tub would be a deal-breaker for me. OH, and I and my BF both like Breakfast!!! Many thanks for Opinions and other Recommendations. CHEERS
  7. Is Bangkok Smile Dental Clinic and Silom Dental the same?? Do they do Crowns and how long might it take??
  8. AHHH, titles are so confusing... In the Philippines, the guys say the following Gay means Fem and usually a Bottom Bisexual means they are Manly, but not opposed to getting it on with other Men. they may be a Top or a Bottom Me, I just say I am Manly Gay...
  9. HAHAHA, you do not have to go to Japan for that. Here in Santa Fe, NM a woman advertises "Holding" as her Service. Have not seen what she charges for her "tip"...

  12. YES, very nice to wake up and have a choice of Eggs for Breakfast. In Taipei I often stay at Just Sleep Hotel. The rooms are good but the breakfast is lacking. A pan of scrambled eggs that are no longer hot. Some boiled eggs, if you like those. And no over easy. UGH!!!
  13. HAHAHA All the stories we old men have Let the younger ones here know what they have to look forward to... Take care!!
  14. "In retrospect, this was not a good idea. Other than a high reading on the PSA test, I had no other symptoms. The outcome of the biopsy was two fold: one, I simply have a large prostate thus the high reading; two, the cuts and sample removals from the prostate for the biopsy reduced my ability to ejaculate. It also lessened somewhat my ability to keep my personal flagpole at attention." Enjoyed reading your post. I also is a long-time prostate survivor. Many years ago my PSA came back extremely high. And my GP at the time, a Gay Doc, admonished me to have IT removed immediately. I found out later that his Father had died of prostate cancer, so this influenced his viewpoint. I saw the Urologist he referred me to and had a long discussion about the options and the consequences. I did my research and even had a consult with a Oncologist who does the Needles Procedure. The Urologist did a biopsy and the lab could barely find any cancer cells. So now 10 years later I am still taking the Watchful Waiting approach. I am 76 yo and on my last exam my Urologist said my PSA was still high but there was no reason to perform and additional biopsies. I have not suffered any serious side effects. Other than the bleeding that goes on for several weeks after the biopsy. Yes, my libido is not what is used to be and my cum is not thick and creamy... Too bad. But I am very glad I did not jump into having surgery or radiology. Life goes on...
  15. Too bad they were not on FB, so I could point my cursor at a face and get the name... I like the Short Guy in the Black Shorts. But send him to the gym to work on that little belly... CHEERS
  16. I will take the Second from the Right. No problem there... ;-)
  17. Hope you guys are enjoying Songkran there in BKK and the Circuit Parties!!! Cheers
  18. HAHAHA, my Partner here is the US always equates things like how much it costs to for a Donald Trump Golfing Eeekend or how much someone Won on the Lottery into how many pieces of Native American Silver Jewelry he could buy... It just shows us where Numazu likes to place his priorities!!! RIGHT ON!!!
  19. As my dear Great Aunt use to say... "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" Seems that is the decison XBoy was making...
  20. Bucknaway, I think a Chrome Book also cannot not be carried in your Carry-On Luggage. Any thing larger than a Mobile Phone is banned. Even GameBoys and small Cameras. too bad because I enjoy having my Tablet to watch my own movies on the 19 hour flights!!! But I have been overseas many times and on returning to the US only got searched once. They were looking for food items and found a package of cashews from Thailand. Even though they were sealed I had to throw them into the trash. Have a good trip!!!
  21. Love is not an easy thing to sort out. I have a Partner of 50 years, and we have been married for 2 years. I am 76yo. He is 70 yo and a handsome white guy!!! But over the years our Relationship has become more being Friends. We have not had sex together for many years. Still he is my true love!! So I go to the Philippines on Holiday. Have been doing so for 12 years. My Partner will not travel there with me and knows I will meet up with hot and sexy guys!! I have really fallen in love with a wonderful Pinoy guy. He is 22yo and I have known him for 5 years. HAHAHA do not count back. I would like him to come live with us in the USA. And he would give anything to live with us. I have suggested Houseboy, Student, Caregiver... But my Partner refuses to consider it. So Ms Landers, what should I do??? ;-)
  22. Numazu, I think it is your adventures with BurBoy that intrigue me the most!! I am looking forward to hearing how things go when you are there with your BF... Leaw pob gun mai
  23. Good the less said the better. You have made your point several times. Most of us disagree.
  24. "I’m posting a pic of him (I’m still not comfortable posting faces, sorry). You probably recognize him and his build if you ever spend any time in BBB" I can see why you found him so attractive. And all this time I was hoping that was YOU in your Avatar... GWMinUS
  25. I have not been to Pattaya for many years. So I am confused. I do not find a Marriott Hotel right next to the Aya Hotel. The only Marriott I see now is the Courtyard Marriott (I used to be the Architect for many of those in CA) and it is in South Pattaya. Was there a Marriott that changed operators?? Do enjoy this older post of your travels... GWMinUS
