. A.so people who work for big companies may roll up lots of points on business and silly to let them sit there. When the Luxury is free, it tastes even better>

Really I guess it is because you live there rather than visit. 10 years ago BKK was a disaster for a visitor who wanted to fly back home . I already said it probably won't happen again but who knows in Thailand. I can assure you it was no fun for visitors but then again I would expect you to know anything about that because you are a resident. Who knows when you were last on an airplane?

All that is pretty good advice unless they take over the airport when you are coming or going. That happened to me and it was not any fun.They found out that disturbing air transportation gets a lot of notice. Just look at the recent US Govt shut down. Merrily going on for 5 weeks until it became evident Air Traffic Controllers or TSA agents were about to grind Air Transportation to a halt.
Unfortunately Thai Government did not and may not move that fast if something similar occurs . Unlikely to happen because of the damage done previously but then you never know in Thailand.

Amazing how crime seems to increase after a 3rd World country puts on the Olympics. The rich get richer and the poor get much poorer which of course leads to more crime.

Interesting discussion but the Bottom Line is it makes no difference what we think. The Bars will do what is good for them financially and those who don't like women can either not go to those Bars ( Most of the Good Ones) or learn to live with it. It appears the majority have learned to live with it! Just like many complained in BKK when drink prices kept going up and up . But the Bar owners knew they could get away with it because the Chinese etc did not care . So most have learned to pay the prices or change their destination to Pattaya.

Very Sad. He worked so hard and long to plan this trip and to have this happen , when he was in a strange country with no family is just terrible.

He has been very unlucky with his health and I am sure that combined with the fact he is not familiar with the ins and outs of GoGo Bars and mama sans has led to an unproductive trip so far . It helps to go to the Bars with someone but still familiarity breeds surety.
Problem is of course his trip is so short, that he may never have the trip he hoped for!

Probably because the gay scene is more developed although certainly not like Brazil and more members have actually been there.
I did not find Bogota unsafe but I am a seasoned traveler , leave my jewelry at home, same for camera . Don't flash big bills. About the same way I'd behave in Miami, LA or NYC, Rio etc.
I think Medellin is a beautiful city and if you are into using the apps, plenty of opportunity as there is in Bogota.

KJUN has not posted a single price that is right . In fact it is closer to $12 or more to take a boy ( known as the off fee) On Soi Twilight in BKK the drink prices at GoGo Bars range from $8-14 or more on Chinese Holidays . The shows will still be interesting to a newbie even if not as sexual as they once were. Bottom Line for all the changes it is one of the few places in the world with a street full of Boys with little on and you can take home for anywhere from 1/3- 1/6 of the price in the USA.
The apps can be very useful in Pattaya, but not so much in BKK because of the enormity of the city and travel times.

Enjoy your reports on Merida. I have been to Mexico City and enjoyed it , but just to big for me. Wonder what you think of using Airbnb in Merida ( safety concerns) I am Diamond Hilton but the HGI does not appear to be in the best location.
I am an APP user with Hornet my favorite . Twink Bottoms are what I like. Included is a photo from Hornet of a boy I just love. Maybe you already know him.

Well you might be right. But I just looked and stopped counting at 300 in a very small age range . How many do you need/? Also able to be location specific in an enormous city like Rio. Most have multiple photos so you are not wasting your time with the 1 photo you get on Grindr until you make contac?
No need to do fake your location in order to do search in advance of your trip. Different strokes for different folks but I find Hornet superior in most of the world.

Not sure why people keep wasting their time tricking Grindr when I find Hornet far better in most parts of the world and you can search any location you like at any time. Then you can always turn on Grindr when you arrive to see if you missed anyone!

Oz is absolutely correct. It happens on every Forum. Members who think they have a right to disparage the look of someone who is not their type.
Nobody cares if you don't like that type. Evidently someone does and that should be the end of it. Nobody is strapping you into a chair and making you look at a type you don't like. Just move on without comment!

Funny I remember stories about staying away from Nara 15 years ago . They were famous for not being guest friendly. I have stayed at every Marriott, Hilton and Sheraton in Bangkok without any problems . I also stayed at a fair number of smaller non Big Chain Hotels within walking distance ( 15-20 minutes in the old days) also with never a problem. I always make the reservation for 2 and would be willing to fight if they thought they could tell me who the 2nd person could be.
My one problem was Holiday Inn Silom. I was able to get around their ridiculous notions by using a side entrance and going right to the elevator . But I never returned.
I spent a few minutes on Airbnb the other night and when and if I return I may use them. I have used them all over the world and I recently looked at some of their listings . There are some great apartments for rent and the prices are very reasonable.
