  1. Some bars do ask that you buy one drink for the boys even if you have a bottle opened.
  2. JimmyJoe, you tipping protocol seems appropriate, to me. I normally tip the waiter 20 Baht and sometimes 40 Baht if have another drink. If I buy a drink for someone else I add 20 Baht to the tip. Rarely tip a mamasan but sometimes when I know them I tip them 100 Baht.
  3. A friend also noticed those guys and had a rendezvous with one of them. Very nice he reported.
  4. It's the difference between night and day, Christian; the sun in the day, the stars and the Moon at night. Also too hot to be outside in the daytime, but pleasant at night.
  5. I recall some women visiting the boy bars 10 to 20 years ago. Only recall because a friend would leave the bar if there were women present.
  6. I was sitting with a Thai friend who was freelancing and who previously worked in Sunee Plaza so just a chat, 3 drinks and a nice tip. There didn't seem to be much activity going on a RBar but that was at 9 pm. Seems that customers come from the Venue after the show later in the evening. Sun and Home Bar, close by, had many customers.
  7. At a bar the other night, a dancer I was keen on was sitting with a farang who, at first, had his tongue down the dancer's mouth and then had the lad's cock down his mouth! Enough to make anyone a bit jealous.
  8. All the boys love a shiny new motorbike and a shiny new i phone.
  9. At Winner Bar in Sunee Plaza there were many dancers on stage and 10+ customers. The numbers change as the evening progresses. Enough customers/dancers to take all available seating (except the front row tables). But as customers departed other customers entered. Not sure of the other bars. The beer bars also had significant increases in customers. Not easy to sit and count customers as there are more important things to do in the bars.
  10. As hanan reported, R Bar is next to Venue. I was there the other night for the first time.
  11. Definitely many more farang in Sunee Plaza this month.
  12. I am terrified every time I cross a street.
  13. Pop Inn is off of Thrappraya Rd (road to Jomtien from Pattaya) about Soi 4. https://www.google.co.th/maps/dir/12.939264,100.896768/pop+inn+pattaya/@12.9175824,100.8697469,18.51z/data=!4m15!4m14!1m6!3m4!1m2!1d100.8745339!2d12.9229457!3s0x310296134bc74d1f:0x3b2581a1861ae81e!4e1!1m5!1m1!1s0x3102966bc9385491:0x94453bfc4f055135!2m2!1d100.8710708!2d12.9182528!3e0
  14. I doubt that is the reason, spoon. Often the bar owner will pay the dancers to return to keep his bar filled with attractions for the customers And there is always the chance for another off.
  15. abidismaili, well spoken, or rather well written. But getting attached emotionally can be a problem as some of us know.
  16. In my case, they do indeed!
  17. Paborn, then maybe best to skip Sunee since it is often a hands-on type of place.
  18. Don't believe everything you read about Sunee or otherwise. Just go there and see for yourself. Rarely do the customers indulge in ping pong tossing. When they do, the customer buys 10 balls for 200 Baht and tosses them to the dancers. For each ball retried the dancer receives 10 Baht. I have seen it a couple of times but rather low key. Just a bit of fun, unless one is prudish. It would be better to spend the 200 Baht on tips for the dancers and check out their ping pong balls in the process.
  19. No, but it is a good excuse for being lazy.
  20. I first asked my Thai friend about learning Thai 16 years ago, and again two days ago; the reply was the same, No! Which relieved me since I don't want to try to learn, yet, another language.
  21. Too late now, but Protocol might have been a more appropriate title than Etiquette.?
  22. I once again asked by Thai friend, "should I learn Thai" and his answer was NO. I then asked why and he said " you just want to learn the bad words". So, once again, I will not try to learn Thai.
