Unfortunately I've not had a single response since creating my account three days ago! On my profile, I have written descriptions such as: "Generous tourist looking for fun. Turistas generosos que procuram diversão." and even, at the risk of being too obvious: "Looking for GPs. Procurando GPs" ...without any success! So how to get potential GPs to respond to you? Not by using either of those.... First...what city are you in? Second...what kind of photo do you have up? I have a friend who just puts a picture of a nice double bed in a nice hotel room. He has many many hits also. Of course, sometimes I contact boys I like and see what happens. I have "visited" Porto, Curtiba, Rio and Sao Paulo all without much success I'll be physically visiting the country next month and was just curious to see the calibre of the 'talent' I've been hearing so much about ;p Up until three hours ago, my profile pic was that of a solar flare (I know that's a bit random!). I have changed it to a hotel room, as per pauleiro's advice. Interestingly, still no responses as yet. redxs, I would feel a little uncomfortable approaching random people, so I would rather GPs approach me... just out of interest though, what do you say when you message guys? Dude Grindr has how many feet and miles you are away...you arent getting any play because its says you are hundreds of miles away...Nobody is bothering to reply let alone contact you if you arent in the country Grindr is not like Rentmen where you can schedule an appt...Most Brazilians dont work like that anyways unless it is somebody you have met and connected with before... It doesnt matter if you have your app in the city or country..it will still signify how close your local is because of how the app is targeted... The caliber of talent for you will be in the saunas....try that before the apps...you may want to familiarize yourself with the country before trying to meet locals outside of the saunas Solar flare...WHY?? Anyhow, my only reason for wanting to explore Grindr, and I know this sounds stupid, is to ease myself into the sauna scene which scares me a little. Grindr hookups with the GPs coming to my hotel, on my terms, I know I could do. On a separate note, I've being exchanging PMs with a fellow poster, who has given me some great advice about Grindr and safety - common sense safety precautions to take. This person (don't want to name you without your permission!) interestingly contends that the risks of using Grindr in Brazil are "no worse than anywhere else". I would like to open this up - do other forum members agree with this? Do you not think there is a correlation between the escorts' socioeconomic background and clients' safety, so in places where there is more relative poverty (as there is in Brazil), I guess there would be more desperation, and so service providers are more likely to be unscrupulous in their dealings with users? If you are worried about client safety, you definitely want to be in a sauna. This is the safest place you can be for hiring. First there is no safer or easier environment to solicit sex then the sauna! my first visit was Oct. 2001, and i have never had a issue or problem in 4 to 5 trips a year since then! 2) re: grindr it is no different in Brazil then it is in the OC! and as long as you do basic things such as hide your money and phone you will be fine! one tip don’t use the bathroom or shower unless you leave the door open or invite them to shower with you! it’s amazing what they can go through in 30 seconds! most guys want repeat business, at least that’s been my experience! It is quite a safe place to go and there are many in Rio. As Tomcal says, always shower with the boy (it is my preferred option among the 2 he proposes) : first : it is fun and second it is better not to leave the boy alone in the room. I am into clean cut fitness/muscular guys (and I put this in my profile description). 90% of the respondents were out of my consideration. They either didn't read my profile details or were just taking the chance. Just like anywhere else, unless money is involved, clean cut fitness muscular guys are into the same thing...there are no shortage of them in Rio but unless they are working boys the are looking for the same... That may account for your respondent rate... I have had great experiences in and out of the sauna meeting hot guys.... I choose guys I like, ask them are they escort and 90% of them respond yes. I dont have photo in profile and most of the guys didn't ask for it. Most of the guys there want to hook up very fast, and you can find guys form saunas but also some who are doing it just when they need money.
