Expats are included in Thailand’s vaccination plan
vinapu replied to TotallyOz's topic in Gay Thailand
as rich countries are slowly but surely approaching state of full vaccination , at least for all willing to, more and more vaccines will be available for the rest of world and we may rapid decrease in case there as well unless , God forbid , some 'lambda ' or ' kappa' strain will appear -
I'd say " curiously some hotels don't want customers bringing prostitutes onto the premises." Siam Heritage on Surawong was known for not allowing joiners but not long before whole covid debacle there was report by one of members that it doesn't apply anymore. When thongs will get back to normal quite possibly it may be new normal for a while so all old rules may not apply. Perhaps even bars will expand their offer to milk and every hotel will sport big sign ' joiners welcomed " .

perhaps they will if bars re-open

First Covid-infected tourist found in Phuket Sandbox
vinapu replied to macaroni21's topic in Gay Thailand
not to dispute a word from what you said but success of sandbox to a great degree depends of risk tolerance of both tourists and locals. Aiming at zero transmissions will lead to failure of the schemes. -
just like our youth...

for those who successfully made it those criminals are God sent since they can't count on visa obtained legal way. Labels sometimes are not what they are meant to be.

don't get too attached to that idea

Infections may be “3-4 times higher” than government-declared total

considering Malaysia has half of Thai population it seems you guys have bigger problem. Still in comparison to some European countries not that long ago both countries are not doing that bad. If only you can have enough vaccines -
First Covid-infected tourist found in Phuket Sandbox
vinapu replied to macaroni21's topic in Gay Thailand
did they imported covid with them or opposite, actually got infected while mingling with locals. It works both ways as always -
like all bars closed. Last time I was there was during my last trip , 21 month ago. Nothing tragic as I took guy from there on night 5 or 6. As with every bar , tragic for one is gate of paradise for another. Depend of what one is looking for, no steak will be tasty for a vegetarian and every soya cutlet will be laughable for a carnivore.

evening mass in the Cathedral , just beside your hotel Mandarin Oriental?

I'm watching it, mildly interesting but English subtitles available on all 9 episodes so far. Most interesting for me was episode 4 because of Max Tul presence and last one , episode 9 , kind of ground breaking as in 46:17 minute clearly Sean is sporting an erection inside of his undergarments and no effort is made to hide it , quite opposite . Check for yourselves. https://pops.tv/video/bromance-ep-9-en-d2-popsthai-60e584e850a2600055a32b27

You hit the nail ! Paltry sum in Western countries often goes very long way in may poor ones , slave wages here mushroom when crossing borders and deplorable living conditions are still often much better than ones at home. Authentic discussion from my then workplace about 30 years ago: one employee got lucky and won a little bit in lottery, our boss congratulating him mused casually that this is what he paid for suit for his son recent wedding. Employee answered " I'm more rich than you, I will built new barn for that when I get home" . World is very complex place

a lot of us may not even be aware about particularly assholish practice of some Western countries when comes to visas - visa fee , often equivalent of 100 or 200 $ , princely sum in many countries, is demanded up front and is NOT REFUNDED in case visa is denied

Buenos Aires, Argentina. June/July 2021
vinapu replied to Latbear4blk's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Your rage is understandable as you are kind of local. Where I live I often complain about public transport ( not entirely warranted but I still complain ) , when my sister who lives in other country comes and say the bad word about the same subject I'm fast to remind her that airport is visible from my balcony if she doesn't like here. I wouldn't go too far with that 'first world/ third world ' crime comparison mindset. There are plenty of third world countries where crime is not a problem , even in depth of night. When I arrive in Bangkok which is often at 1-2 a.m. my first step is to wander through completely empty and darkened Patpong, famous 'entertainment , ahem ' district and never ever had any thought it may be dangerous. On another hand my first ever arrival in New York, no doubt very first world city was by train at 8 p.m. , hardly even night and my local friend warned me not to step outside of the Grand Central station. ( I did anyways and it was not that scary ) -
Jupiter yes but in Moonlight I never felt presence of ladies was prominent. Worst/ best depending of point of view bar frequented by noisy Asian ladies was BoyzBoyzBoyz in Boyztown , Pattaya

Infections may be “3-4 times higher” than government-declared total
vinapu replied to reader's topic in Gay Thailand
First, I think in most countries actual numbers were and still are higher or very much higher than actually reported as it's impossible to test everybody and a lot of people with lighter symptoms did not bother to report. Second, while number of cases in Thailand are worryingly climbing there are relatively low for 70 million nation so decision about closing or opening may be more political than data based, again , like in most countries. Where I'm we still can't dine indoors while a lot of countries with higher number of cases and lower numbers of vaccinated allow it already. Whether it's good or bad remains to be seen but clearly various governments are using various opening criteria and strategies. -
Or autocorrector just corrected you incorrectly, LOL

British expats warm to the idea of unfreezing pensions
vinapu replied to reader's topic in Gay Pattaya
overseas pensioners don't pay VAT on everyday purchases like resident elderly do. So yes , there's no drain on services but also no contribution to economy from expats. still I agree that having pension indexed or not , depending of where one lives is unfair idiocy.
