  1. Plus previously, killing criminal or potential criminal, doesnt really have any consequences to the police, so...
  2. If only these more effective vaccine is produced massively and equally distributed to these countries who have to settle with the less effective option. But of course, those vaccines were hogged by developed countries. I agree totally that anything that pass WHO criteria of 50% effectiveness will still save lives and warrant the usage, especially at a time where we cant afford the luxury of choosing which vaccine we can use. The more concerning issue is vaccine acceptance in some countries where the gov arent bold enough to make it compulsory. Sadly, thats include my country, where the current drive for vaccine registration are 37% only. I wish our gov would just make this compulsory.
  3. Ive never been tk maldives but have few friends that went there on a budget trip, staying in the public islands where the locals are staying. The downside is no alcohol and the beach also restrictive on dress code. However, u can always buy day trip passes to some of the resorts to enjoy other part of the islands pristine beaches and resort facilities. I gather for those who wanted to stay there longterm will have to live on the local islands where u can rent by month instead of staying at the private island resorts unless you are in the super rich category. Not sure about prices after covid though, i assume they wouldve reduce the price as well to attract tourists.
  4. If u read again the histogram, it is recording daily infected HCW from 7th of March, to 15th of April. Within this period, 426 total HCW have been infected. The legend None does not mean not infected, it means they were infected but have not received their vaccine yet, not even 1st dose. Again, within the graph shown, no information of non-infected HCW. The study is trying to see how the vaccine able to reduce infection amongs HCW, and they wanted to show that daily new cases reported amongst HCW are reducing, but Our DG instead focused on the 9 HCW who still got infected after 2 weeks of 2nd dose, at the point where the vaccine provider claim that its has reached peak antibody (immunity) and conclude that even though it reduces the risk of infection, vaccinated person still can get infected and spread them, so SOP must be observed still As i said, total HCW that have been vaccinated nationwide is unknown, but a total of 300k-400k of frontliners ( consist of HCW, police, fire fighter, army, high risks teachers) have been vaccinated up to 15th of April. The total vaccinated HCW is not made known, and although the MOH does report daily vaccinated number, it includes all frontliners and politicians. I wont be fixated on the number too much and only focus on the relative trend shown by the data which in fact shows a dramatic decrease of new cases amongst HCW since vaccination started. I know for a fact that testing have been reduced due to a recent circular when cases have been increasing at a higher pace since last december, where only 20% of close contact will be tested (compared to almost all previously). So number of infected HCW couldve been higher than what is reported. I agree the wording couldve been better, as i believed many are confused with the data shown including the media lol. My explanation make sense to me but i could be wrong too, and the best way to know the real answer is to wait for MOH to answer your question, whenever that is.
  5. Just a warning on brazil cases now, although it seems to be targetting younger people as well. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/apr/16/spreading-faster-hitting-harder-why-young-brazilians-are-dying-of-covid
  6. Ok i believe i understand the histogram now. 426 is the total of HCW infected. 140 of them infected after receiving first dose, 31 after second dose, 9 after 2 weeks of 2nd dose. The rest are infected without receiving their first dose yet. The total of vaccinated HCW daily are unknown but i recalled that registered Frontliner were in the region of 300k-400k. So 426 total infected out of total 300k plus (0.00014 max)
  7. Yup, my thought exactly. WHO must do their job to point that out but recovery of local economy is something that is equally important to their health as well. We see this already in several countries where despite high cases of daily covid infection, the gov cant afford a lockdown due to economic reason.
  8. I do believe that there is a mix of lax in SOP adherence amongs vaccinated HCW and high exposure to virus. We do have relatively high amount of cases in some hospitals in big cities, and several strains that were a big concern now is already here (south african variant). The main point is still valid, vaccinated or not, we still need to be vigilant and observe social distancing and mask wearing.
  9. I do hope they will get the one dose vaccine, otherwise, like u mention, itll be only for long term visitor. Itll be a draw for those in countries with less efficient vaccination plan as well, as they can kill two birds with one stone, travel to a beach island, and get vaccinated all in one go.
  10. Im not sure who among the hcw is the 426, my guess would be these are those who are directly handling covid patient thus high exposure to the virus themselves. And i also think there are some relaxation of the strict PPE after vaccination?, Again, not much is being discusses as this was not a peer review technical paper but just an effort by MOH to show the public why they cant allow a more relax restriction fot vaccinated person. Total incident was from the first dose until 2 weeks after vaccination. At full immunity, it was only 9, which does shows significant reduction of infection among them.
  11. Second guy would be my option lol
  12. Based on the pic below, the observation was from a total of 426 workers.
  13. https://www.cntraveler.com/story/the-maldives-plans-to-offer-covid-19-vaccines-to-tourists/amp Kudos to Maldives for this effort. Id say they are doing great with how to ensure tourist are safe to travel there and have kept their island open for tourist without quarantine for a while already.
  14. Our gov just released a statement regarding infection occured after vaccination amings hospital workers. 9 were infected with less severe covid after 2 weeks receiving the vaccine. Much higher number were reported for less than 2 week of 2nd dose (39) and after receiving 1st dose (142) which is expected. Basically vaccinated hospital workers where SOP were observed very strictly, but of course exposed to the virus at a higher level as well, still can be infected, with less severe symptoms. All hospital workers are taking the 2 dose pfizer-moderna vaccine, cominarty. Our DG health ended the announcement with a call for everyone, vaccinated or not, to be vigilant and observed SOP until we reached herd immunity. https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/healthcare-workers-in-malaysia-infected-after-covid-19-vaccination-reported-less-severe
  15. Over here, all ex-covid patient are required to take antibody test to see their antibody level before getting their vaccine. Based on our own study, those who are asymptomatic only saw their antibody at 20% compared to those with more complication after 8 weeks, while those with mild symptoms at 80-90%. What i heard from someone who shared his experience was that he was required to take antibody test twice within few month apart, and if the level are still high (90% of required level) then he wont need to get the vaccine. I cant find the clear guideline on this yet though.
  16. Im not much of a foodie when travelling as i just eat at a place convenient for me and dont really like to travel far just for food hunting. Mainly due to my vacation is usually short (1-2 weeks maximum) But i always love to try new restaurants back home. Maybe my next trip, i can venture to several of the places mentioned here. I eat all kind of different type of cuisine as long as they taste good lol.
  17. Apparently blood clot issue are also observed on recovered covid patient based on a study in singapore. One things to add to the consideration. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/long-haul-covid-19-blood-clots-recovered-ntu-singapore-14612592
  18. Hmm what if i identify myself as gay but have sex with women, does that make me straight, bisexual or still gay? Lol
  19. Herd immunity.
  20. Similar issues with astrazeneca regarding the blood clot. While its great to see countries are not afraid to suspend when vaccine has some issues, definitely not a good news for those who are waiting to get vaccinated as this means further delay.
  21. U can have him, leave ryan kwanten aka jason stackhouse to me lol
  22. Apparently i read the news that several bangkok hospitals suspended covid testing due to shortage of testing kit as a result of recent rise in cases. https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/a-dozen-bangkok-hospitals-suspend-covid-19-testing-amid-shortages
  23. It says in the series the gogo bar was jupiter, but the gogo boy is from moonlight lol thats the clue. Easy to spot once u watch it
