The true casualty of covid is far more than just cases and death count. Economy is truly hurt now almost everywhere even those countries not heavily affected by it. Yes it happens everywhere so one might say it levels the playground but it also meams more people lose jobs, more business go under and recovery will be very slow and maybe not possible while the virus is still around. In heavilly affected countries, apart from lockdown and direct death from covid, there are also facing overloaded hospitals and ICUs that could contribute to increasing death rate of other diseases and illnesses as well. And the most frustrating effect of covid to most of us here is not able to go to thailand.

Its a risk but a middle man might help. Someone who has a bank account you can send the money to, and will give it to your boy. Finding one that is trustworthy is the risk. Maybe your boy have one, or maybe forumer who live near your boy area can help out. I know a few indonesian who work here make this as a side business to help other indonesians to send money from malaysia to indonesia. E-wallet might be an option but usually, for you to start use it, you would need bank account too. If i recall, some e wallet have voucher/topup that can be purchased at 7-11 where u can send the topup code to your boy and he will have the money. Not really familiar with this myself though, just read about it. But yeah without bank account, its really hard for transfering money.

My theory of outbreak after months of no local transmision most likely a result of both lack of testing and rare cases of people not developing the virus to a detectable level or failure of testing to detect them even after 14 days of quarantine. Based on very early findings in wuhan, there are outlier cases of symptom not appearing up to 27 days. Lack of testing on the other hand might make this a bit harder to contained especially when contact tracing failed to find the index case or patient zero.

I can pitched in the recent increases in malaysia's cases, with multiple new clusters, the biggest one was in a hospital where the first index case was a cleaner. The hospital are closed now, all employees and close contacts are being tested and traced. The state now under restriction movement (divided the state into two zone, red zone and green zone, no movement between these two zones except with police permission). Main culprit of these recents increase in local transmission has been due to malaysia's decision to allow home quarantine for returnees and those coming in with work permits. Scores of them arent adhering to home quarantine and have been seen eating out, doing groceries etc when they are not supposed to be out. I have seen one such incident myself. I can go on about how the home quarantine procedure and it is a bit flawed too with trust put on the citize and no active enforcement. Anyway, the gov has introduced again quarantine in center/hotel again now, and its not going to be free like before. Mask has been made mandatory for the first time here too starting Aug 1st. Today we got 39 new cases, 11 imported cases, 28 local transmission. I guess at least for us, this recent hike is definitely not something to be taken lightly. And until majority of the countries in the world has the virus under control, i dont see us opening up our borders soon.

How i wish i was there. But malaysia is battling the beginning of a second wave now, with government retracting the ability to self qurantine at home as the compliance was only estimated at 50%. All returnee had to wear a pink tag, and attend the second swao test on day 13. Needless to say, there are those who failed to come for the second test, as well as sighting of those who were outside wearing the pink tag. People also found the pink tag being cut off and thrown away. Cases has been in the 2 digits for a week now, with new clusters being reported almost daily. Wearing mask in public transport and crowded place will be mandatory starting aug 1st. So, prospect of being able to go anywhere this year are not looking good. Glad that more bars are using social media now, so at least i got some glimpse of what ifs. Some boys also uploading videos of the bars too. Nothing beats the real thing though.

I guess for us, this procedure should be like a walk in the park.
