Well, corruption underwrote the airport in the first place, I was told. Ministers bought up the land for a song, and the decided to build the airport to make huge profit.
I remember Paya Lebar, it had a slight dip, ie up and down, in the runway. Also I remember the hairdressers stationed at immigration to cut the hair of anyone whose hair was deemed too long. Damned hippies!
Interesting. I didn't know that about the family. I think a sale quite likely, bearing in mind that the night market is only a shadow of its firmer self, and the number of venues there still closed.
Gosh, January is crowded! I am there twice, with Cambodia in between. I stay at Le Meredien, and I find it same price, or marginally cheaper to book with the hotel. I also get my loyalty points that way!
