brall3 Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Is Boys town in Pattaya really that dead? Gone is the parade of guys just before the bar opens? Boys at the club are fully dressed? The off fees are a bit higher than at other locations? If all of this is true, why go to Boystown? bkkmfj2648 and pong2 1 1 Quote
vinapu Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Reasons are aplenty. Guys may be fully dressed in BBB and in jeans but barechested at Dreamboys but still undressed appropriately in Classic Boys,Xboys and that shop.in the left as you enter soi, name escaped , Funny Boys ? Show at Xboys is most progressive in all country. Yes off fees are 1000 at BBB and aparently xBoys but still at 500 in other bars. As for your question it's really only you who can answer it for you. What is more important to get dream hunk for 1000 off fee or run of the mill guy for 500. My father sister was famous for saying " why to waste money on travel if I can see everything in TV " and it was in 70 ties Vessey, Ruthrieston, pong2 and 1 other 4 Quote

Foolish Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I can't imagine paying 1k off fee at X boys. Even 800 was expensive...unless they have recently elevated the quality of their boys vinapu 1 Quote
Popular Post ChristianPFC Posted September 3 Popular Post Posted September 3 When I asked staff on Wed16jul2025, an off fee of 800 was quoted, short time 1500-2000, long time 3000. I don't comment on that. I should have a second wallet with a few 20 notes and pull it out and count and reply "too bad, I don't have that much money with me". jamiebee, Ruthrieston, hanan and 3 others 2 4 Quote

Marc308 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Those off-fees are ridiculous. I'd rather my money go to the working boys not to the mafia and BIBs. I walked by BT two evenings ago and BT Soi 3 (BBB's soi) was dark, the big sign at the entrance to the soi was off, and I could see very little if any activity. There is NO reason I would step foot in that soi (sorry Vinapu, chacun á son goût!) but this is the past of Pattaya certainly not its future. It's future will be appointed massages, the apps and, as always, sweet unexpected chance meeting serendipity. pong2, BL8gPt and hanan 3 Quote

Appointed massage for me sounds and feels like apointment with dentist or colonoscopist so no, thank you but thank you. Well massage appointments do bear some resemblance to a colonoscopy, no? and cum to think about it, they bear some resemblance to the dentist too! In fact I once did fly halfway around the globe to go to the (old) A-Bomb and when arriving I found only 3 "veteran" boys there. Give me appointments anytime over that hit-n-miss experience. I've had very good results in the past few weeks at Jey Spa and 15M in Bangkok. Quality of service at both establishments exceeded expectations. The first a little pricey but decadent and refined. The second much more barebones where the service is the star. pong2, BL8gPt, khaolakguy and 1 other 3 1 Quote

Most often the lights on are in Boyztown except during rain storms and no-drinking holidays. Typically the action picks up after 9+ pm. In addition to BBB, there is ToyBoys and Classic Boys with a decent selection of lads. JimmyJoe and vinapu 2 Quote

Not having offed anyone for several years, I perhaps should not comment other than generally. What in the view of those who write about them does an off fee actually cover? Given we are in the low season, does any part go to bar rental, wages of any paid staff and the regular payments to the binb? I realise that it is supposed to cover the non-attendance of the guy for a period of time when another punter could perhaps have taken him off. I just wonder if the increasing amounts seemingly now sought by some bars cover more? Quote

While I agree that logic of increasing prices in times of low demand is strange, it not necessarily means it not bearing any fruits. In order to ow one needs to sit at cash registerwhich we actually don't. We old owner of Dreamboys bar in soi Twilight raised price of drinks to 650 scream was that it's sostuid. Yet bar continued to be packed night after night. I trade some goods on ebay and noticed neat trick if item doesn't sell. Delist it and relist it month later with higher price. Works well quite often. Why we should worry about what off fees actually covers beyond me. Our problem is to assess value if paying it creates value for us or not. Certainly for some boys is worth paying even doubed up rate white for other even standard 500 is waste money. Patanawet and pong2 2 Quote
PeterRS Posted September 6 Posted September 6 22 minutes ago, vinapu said: Why we should worry about what off fees actually covers beyond me. I am merely curious. Since my first offs in Bangkok around 45 years ago I have always understood that bars depended on off fees to pay some of the overheads. It used to be said in olden times that if a new boy failed to achieve a certain number of offs over a certain period, he would be dismissed. But then of course, all the bar boys were Thais. Does this still exist? I have zero idea. But if some overheads have to be included, it could perhaps explain why off fees rise during the low season. I cannot believe building owners and the binbs lower their prices depending on the season! But if this is correct, then off fees should come down in the high season. I am assuming they do not. Londoner Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Like PeterRS, I am years out of date- twenty to be precise- but I can confirm that a dancer who didn't make enough money could lose his job. There was one at Throb, whom P knew, who was relegated from performing on stage to looking after the toilets because he didn't achieve the requisite number of customers! in those days, it was not unusual to feel the hands of a guy gently massaging your back while you were trying to pee at a bar. Yes, trying to in my case; it would always stop me performing! I assume there were possibilities for tips. I recall P being sorry for this guy and giving him some money. In those days, the management in the bars was harsh. A guy I had offed at Funnyboys was sacked after taking too long a holiday back home. I met him again at Dreamboys. Then there was a mamasan in Phuket who was alleged to impose discipline with the use of a schoolteacher's cane. Come to think of it, bearing in mind "la vice anglaise......" pong2 1 Quote

On my recent visit last week I went length of complex at 10.00 Pm and midnight and most certainly I did not spot anybody I'd take home, even for free, like Christian PFC use to say. Certainly not a case in both Boyztown bars I ventured to I. E. Dreamboys and XBoys 2.second question was answered last night by my semi permanent companion ( freelancer) this trip. After few off fee free nights because his freelance status he asked me pick him up from the bar as his boss noticed he missed so many nights in row and warned him his status in the bar may be in danger. For some reason he took it seriously so I went bought him a drink and duly paid off fee. emiel1981, Ruthrieston, spoon and 1 other 4 Quote
