Popular Post Keithambrose Posted 11 hours ago Popular Post Posted 11 hours ago Got here this afternoon. Decision to fly NY Eve justified. As well as cheaper, Suvarnabhumi was very quiet at 15.30. Straight to free Immigration guy, got sim cards, and in car 2 mins before plane due to land. In lounge at Meridien, where male couples heavily outnumber anyone else. Considering various competing offers in relation to stamps! Payday in good form. TMax, FunFifties, Lucky and 2 others 5 Quote

This is why my parents forbade me from taking up stamp collecting - too gay and promiscuous! Join the choir and drama club?...Sure! Want to watch Cats and Les Miserables? ...Gave me the money for the tickets at the West End. Dame Kiri performs a medley of show tunes in Singapore...we'll go as a family. Collect stamps? ...Over our dead bodies! 🤷 hank75 1 Quote
hank75 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I really enjoyed the Le Méridien lounge on my last trip. Sometimes my planned schedule doesn’t work with happy hour but this time it fit perfectly. I had at least two evenings sampling their solid drinks selection before heading to the bars. Food is of a good standard too. Not everything is great but there are usually at least 2 hot dishes that are tempting (out of a range of 4-5), in addition to the cheese board, desserts, and salad. I brought a “date” one evening and he had so many pieces of shrimp that we had to cancel dinner plans. It was always quite busy though so I never got a window seat. Breakfast is a much smaller affair than the big buffet downstairs but the room was empty and I savoured the peace and quiet. Lucky and khaolakguy 2 Quote

I went back to my room to consider stamps, etc. I happen to have a suite. The opposite room is also a suite. Outside that suite was a large pile of used towels! The door opened, as i approached, and three youngish, thirties maybe, Asians in singlets and shorts, dumped a further pile of towels outside! They retreated hastily, before i could ask if I could join them! FunFifties and khaolakguy 2 Quote

Maybe that's why they retreated hastily. 😆 They're there for the White Party probably. Dumping towels in the hallway is a bit unseemly, no? I usually leave used towels in the bathtub or under the sink. khaolakguy and floridarob 1 1 Quote

I'm not exploring much tonight, too tired. I had a spirited discussion re Vietnamese stamps, via Grinr. Nice body and ass, but limited English! Queues ever, which is encouraging, even in the soi opposite the Meridien. Not clear what they were queuing for! Got as far as soi 4, very busy unfortunately, outside at Banana Bar, was seated, what is now called, a neuro divergent man, who took to screaming unintelligibly, fairly regularly. Dampened the atmosphere rather, and the staff didn't know what to do. They looked concerned, but did nothing. I wondered why this was the only place with plenty of seats! Quote

I often use it for breakfast. The main breakfast room, however is better for checking on overnight stays! Lucky 1 Quote
