Daddy415 Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Just landed 17:00 and again booked buggy and fast track and the door number 5 limo. Huge lines - worse than last week. Our escort from Sawasdee said easily two hours. We got through in 20 to our car and that’s with a bathroom stop. Of course now we are stuck in traffic trying to make our 730 pm spa appointments 😂😂 khaolakguy, Travelingguy, vinapu and 1 other 4 Quote

Popular Post Daddy415 Posted August 22 Popular Post Posted August 22 Made my appointment at Stars, went to a guy who another forum member recommended and had a great time. Stars has replaced Jey Spa for me in terms of quality and variety. Can't wait to write this trip report.... I have a LOT to report, including a happy ending at a place where they don't usually give them... (no, not the hotel lobby....) Kiwi306, vinapu, Travelingguy and 2 others 4 1 Quote

I would have have thought a man of your HiSo connections would have already briefed the Concierge at the Capella or to give him his prefered name, "Head of the Capella Culturists" of your imminent arrival as booking VIP Airport Fast-Track Services is one of their standard offerings. floridarob, Olddaddy and Pantherz 2 1 Quote

Do they go for Priority?? Any other suggestions? Business Class ticket holders do get priority but no longer in the same signed Priority Lane as people who have booked Fast Track. Go to the main immigration hall but instead of joining the queue, show your business class boarding pass to staff and they will direct you to unsigned lanes on the right hand side which bypass the main queue bkkmfj2648, floridarob, mauRICE and 4 others 7 Quote

When the company running the airport makes money on the side by offering special lanes for paying passengers, it makes congestion among the 99.9% of passengers at the normal gates a positive for its bottom line, reducing the incentive to improve the situation. bkkmfj2648, vinapu and Travelingguy 3 Quote
Olddaddy Posted Monday at 01:24 PM Author Posted Monday at 01:24 PM Well....well.....arrived tonight was so worried about the so called ...2 hour waits . I dashed towards the immigration. 🙄🙄🙄 Ended up through within 6 minutes...and... And ...waited at the carousel for my luggage 20 minutes!!! So no need for FAST TRACK....2 hour waits ??? Yeah right🙄 And by the way, the idiot who used the Fast track coming off my plane,( the one I tried to book) got through 5 minutes before me and then still had to WAIT with ALL of us at the carousel for his bag 🧳🧳 He looked a laughing stock by the whole plane ,we all from business class watched how he got the buggy 🛻big fat guy in his flower 🌺 shirt Then...he laughed as he past us all walking towards immigration We had the last laugh as he still was waiting for his luggage 🧳 having paid the 3200 baht fast track fee .....stupid Cxnt ...he looked red faced & embarrassed giving us the finger 🖕🖕as he passed us in his golf buggy but ended up in the same places No long queues , very fast immigration No need for Fast Track bkkmfj2648 and vinapu 1 1 Quote

Daddy415 Posted Wednesday at 02:59 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:59 AM Exactly @vinapu, well said. I arrived TWICE in August and both times the lines were horrible. Good for @Olddaddy that he was lucky, but I would not advise arriving at midnight without FastTrack if you would be upset to wait in a very long line. It's a gamble, and the unlucky pay for it with their precious time. We flew all the way from USA so it was the end of a very long journey. Help is on the way however: https://www.nationthailand.com/news/tourism/40069910 Once they deploy the e-gates it will no longer be a gamble and arriving will be as fast as leaving. (We did not book FastTrack for departure.) jimmie50, vinapu and bkkmfj2648 3 Quote

Daddy415 Posted Wednesday at 02:36 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:36 PM From reading the article, it sounds like you may be able to use the e-gates now if they have already read your biometric information on a different entry to the country. Quote
EricV Posted Thursday at 09:49 AM Posted Thursday at 09:49 AM Apparently, 33 nations will be able to use the egates, with most European countries and Canada in; US, China, Russia & India are out. You will have to have entered once ( or twice, depending on source) with the exact same passport before to use them... TiT - so last minute changes can still happen... Hopefully, that will ease the lines. For US (and Asian) citizen, an APEC card is your best bet. Business Class is officially out for priority (only handicapped, elderly, pregnant etc), but individuals have reported luck at trying anyway... As always, depends on the person you deal with ...YMMV As others have said, there is no reliable way to forecast lines: a few large planes arriving early/late (which is common on long-haul flights) and hundreds of extra arrivals will clog up the lines. If you want reliably fast entry, paying for FastTrack is your safest choice - just realize it might not be needed when you get there... Daddy415, Olddaddy and vinapu 3 Quote
Daddy415 Posted Thursday at 01:18 PM Posted Thursday at 01:18 PM @EricV what's the source of your info above? Do you have an arrticle to share? This from AI: " Will the USA be eligible? The Thai government has not yet published the official list of the 31 selected nationalities. However, the United States is widely expected to be included. Thai authorities have confirmed that they are selecting the eligible countries based on three primary criteria: High rankings on the Henley Passport Index. Low entry-refusal and immigration rejection statistics. Strict national security and legal parameters. Because the US ranks highly across these metrics and its citizens already benefit from visa-exempt entry, travel analysts anticipate it will be on the finalized list." jimmie50 and bkkmfj2648 2 Quote
