I hear ya but I think we're saying the same thing... majority are looking for the financial stability... as I said earlier probably 80-90%. But I think the original poster's point was that you have better odds in places like Thailand of finding a younger dude into older. That's definitely true. I learned that in my first hour after landing in Bangkok and again today in Chiang Mai. My Grindr blew the f up in seconds with messages from guys that would be way out of my league back home. Yet on Samui, I was as invisible as I am in the US because it's basically Daytona Beach Part 2. 😆

Sniffing out money boys or those not being up front about it is pretty easy to me. Profiles kind of say it all ... at least most of the time. And if the profile doesn't do it, the nature of the chat dialog does. At least for me it's obvious. The dying grandmother/pet is terminally ill/need books for class or will get kicked out... it's a running joke among my buddies I travel to Colombia with. But those stories are from rent boys to begin with, so it's not as if true feelings were ever in the equation in the first place.

There are a couple guys in their 20s I've met in my Colombia visits that I connected with and still am in touch with. And I attribute it to the same thing... the exotic, being different, or like your theory ... the excitement of someone from a different culture. So to the original post's point, yeah I def think odds of finding something legit and not based on $ with a younger guy are better in places like this.

Monday night update... Progress. I didn't sleep through club time.  But I'm home before midnight.  Hit up several of the bars I hadn't ventured into yet.  I'm going to grade on a scale tonight be

we need to be careful with laughing and some diplomacy is needed.

Two boys which appear in my travel reports quite often earlier this year reported very sick mother. No, they did not ask for any assistance although perhaps hoping I will pick up a clue, , who knows ?

Both ladies died, one very recently. Again no request for help, just pics from funeral but point is not always sick grandma is in fact healthy or dead long time already.

Oh can it happen? Sure. But especially in Colombia, it's just the m.o. of the rent boys there. I obviously don't have the experience yet with Thai guys. But yeah if you visit Bogota or Medellin, never give your real number/socials. Most of us are shocked if we don't get one of those 3 scenarios in a WhatsApp message within a week of our return to the US.

Thanks to the local legend @bkkmfj2648 I got the whirlwind all in one night tour of both Pattaya City and Jomtien

It’s great to read that your introduction to Pattaya was so positive. You can certainly count on @bkkmfj2648 to show you around, he’s great company! If I’ve got it right, you only spent a short time in Pattaya City and didn't visit the raunchiest bar/show there? I’ve had some really fun nights there myself with @bkkmfj2648 , where we put hands on and tongues in multiple guys... oops. ;) lol In short: there is still something to discover during the next visit.

It was a fun night for sure. I am going to check out the raunchy though at some point when I go back in a couple weeks. 😜 My Airbnb I like in Bangkok is occupied the first few nights I get back so going to see the spots I missed in the whirlwind visit. But there will definitely be another night in Jomtien (I forget which one is Boyz Town and which one is Super Town lol). He was a great tour guide. We got a lot in in a short time that day.

I have always wanted to go to Fake Club (just to have a look and experience atmosphere) but couldn't find the right company to take me there. Forum members I've met are contented with bars in Silom.

The next time our paths cross in Bangkok, I’d definitely be up for going there! I’ve been thinking about heading that way for a long time, too.

Boyztown is in Pattaya City, while Supertown is a name used for the Jomtien Complex...

OK so yeah, we did a quick walk-through boyztown but things hadn’t really started yet. We did supertown until about midnight. There was a passing thought of going back to boyztown but I’d been up since 5 AM took the train to the airport in Bangkok then the bus ride to PC. So yeah by midnight, I was ready to call it a day. But I’ll be back for a few nights at the end of this month to fill in the gaps. Looking forward to it.

Don't knock it until you try it. lol. I'm 75 and Cam is 28. Not an issue for either one of us.

Hurrah, you are back !

on the subject , reminded me my grandmother's soberly comment " blood is not water" when girl from her village was actively pursuing guy more than twice of her age

You are right. And that is the great challenge -- weeding groundless pleas for aid from genuine ones. I've tried for years to perfect detection, but have never been successful. I find out later I've either been duped, or I feel badly for not helping someone who was in fact in urgent need.
