  3. WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Hundreds of jubilant gay-rights advocates celebrated at New Zealand's Parliament as the country became the 13th in the world and the first in the Asia-Pacific region to legalize same-sex marriage. Lawmakers voted 77 to 44 in favor of the gay-marriage bill on its third and final reading Wednesday night. People watching from the public gallery and some lawmakers immediately broke into song after the result was announced, singing the New Zealand love song "Pokarekare Ana" in the indigenous Maori language. "For us, we can now feel equal to everyone else," said bank teller Tania Penafiel Bermudez, who said she already considers herself married to pa…

The FAA et. al have cleared the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to fly again after a 90+ day grounding due to 2 battery fires. In the article I have read, it has no ETOPS restrictions. Glee is renewed. Not just for a fifth season, but also for a sixth. That’s right, Fox is bringing back the musical dramedy for two more seasons. So much for all that hand-wringing about whether the show would continue. Fox will haveGlee on through 2015 — at least. “Glee debuted as the first and only successful musical comedy series on television, and more than four years later, it continues to defy genres, break new ground and have a significant impact on popular culture,” said Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly. “Week in and week out, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, Dante DiLoreto and the entire Gleeteam deliver a series that not only delights and surp…

My nights at Gaiety pale. ""A customer at the Spearmint Rhino Gentleman's Club in Rialto shot a dancer in the face and then turned the gun on himself Wednesday evening. The dancer - a 23-year-old Moreno Valley woman - was listed in critical but stable condition at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. The man who allegedly shot her, a 46-year-old San Bernardino man, died at the scene at 312 S. Riverside Ave., police said. Rialto police received several calls reporting shots fired in the club at 7:23 p.m., said police Capt. Randy DeAnda. Officers arrived and …

  12. Gay Palm Springs – Can You Hit 18 Holes? When you go on a gaycation, it can be fun to head off to Asia or explore Europe. Many of us like to check out the beautiful boys of Brazil and Argentina. But, our budgets won't always stretch far enough for an overseas vacation. And it can get boring hitting San Francisco year in and year out! That's why it's important to know about some of the other fabulous cities you can sexplore during your time off. Yummy men are everywhere, and many of them know how to have a gay old time. Since all has been quiet in the Beer Bar I thought to post this quiz to challenge the curious. Really not sure if it is easy or difficult?? The photo below shows the last resting place of 13 German soldiers from WW II. Can you identify the country where they repose and the circumstances therein? To make it easier for you the answer is not Germany or Japan. Additional photos will be forthcoming.

NEW ORLEANS – San Francisco 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver has reportedly made inflammatory comments regarding homosexuality in football just a few days before Super Bowl XLVII. Shock jock Artie Lange revealed he had interviewed Culliver at media day Tuesday and aired a segment on his show that night, where the player insisted that any gay players would not be welcome on the team. "I don't do the gay guys man," said Culliver, whose Niners play the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. "I don't do that. No, we don't got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do. "Can't be with that sweet stuff. Nah…can't be…in the locker room man. Nah." When…

  15. Nothing to do particularly with bumping uglies , just something I only now noticed, a bit more than a year after it happened: publication of the 5th & final volume of the monumental Dictionary of American Regional English... http://m.guardiannews.com/books/2012/jan/31/dictionary-american-regional-english-dialect ...I picked up Volume 1 years ago at a Harvard Square bookshop that sold, among much else, review copies of titles that professors had gotten gratis from publishers hoping for good notices, and would subsequently sell to this shop for resale. All that digression is just to explain how I could afford it at the time, as it was list-priced for libraries and ri…

During my lifetime I have had the opportunity to settle down with one guy ... or just have some awesome sex. There is one over a decade later that I let get away .... why? Read on. As most here know I am a big guy aka chub. I really have never been into any so called gay scene and even as a younger adult had no idea there were guys attracted to chubs AKA as chasers. Well I was living in SoCal and would get together with friends at the French Market about once a week for lunch or dinner. For those who don't know the French Market is part of the now city of West Hollywood a area where many gay people live. On this evening I was quite a bit early to meet my buds for dinne…

A former Mount Carmel Tennesse vice mayor who was investigated on indecent exposure allegations while in office more than two years ago has been arrested after a new complaint was filed. William Blakely, 30, appears to have a long history of masturbating in the direction of other motorists while driving, with police receiving dozens of complaints over three to four years, reports WNCT. He was finally charged because one victim was able to write down his license plate number during an incident. Three women appeared in a Kingsport court Monday to submit testimony against Blakely. In each testimony, Blakely is described as swerving and honking to get the womens' attention …

  21. Neat list of San Francisco Gay bars that are no longer there. When I first started "running away"to SF in 1975 most of these were still around. You will notice that there were Gay bars in many areas of the city-you were not restricted to the Castro or SoMa I had a LOT of fun back in the day!
