Just got this notice that Copa has this fare from Cancun with a plane change in Panama City. Pretty cheap to get to Cancun on money or ff points. Verified and plenty of flights open. Very tempted even though this would be a lot of connecting. Easy to search on ITA Matrix software. Sounds like the PA guys are worth it.

The high increase in unemployment in Brazil is blamed for a 24% drop in auto sales, year over year. This is a bad sign for Brazil's economy, for sure. Many Brazilians who only a few years ago were classified as "middle class" are no longer in that category because of being unemployed. Many of those former "middle class" who had jobs and bank credit cards, no longer have credit because they are unemployed. Credit that was available to the "middle class" stimulated the economy. Now things have changed. In light of the high unemployment in Brazil, I suspect that we will be seeing more garotos in the saunas equal to or greater than the quantity we saw eight or ten ye…

For those who visit Rio and like the convenience of the Metro over taxis, here is good news. Of course, there could be another delay (there have been many) between now and next month when Line 4 is scheduled for completion. http://riotimesonline.com/brazil-news/rio-real-estate/rio-de-janeiros-new-metro-line-4-on-track/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheRioTimes+%28The+Rio+Times%29

When the guys have no jobs, many go to the saunas - http://riotimesonline.com/brazil-news/rio-business/unemployment-in-brazil-increases-in-q1-2015/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheRioTimes+%28The+Rio+Times%29

A dozen years ago, it was rare to see more than a few Brazilians on flights between the U.S. and Brazil. Then, about five years ago or so, the Brazilian economy expanded. A new group of "middle class" was formed and those people were given credit cards by major Brazilian banks. The change to "middle class" status created a lot of opportunities for Brazilians that were never before available to the general rank and file Brazilians . Some of the fallout to the increase in "middle class" was a drop in the number of former and new garotos in the saunas. During the high point of the "middle class" it was usual to see at least half of each flight between the U.S. and …

I have had the same driver in Rio for 4 years. So when I arrived on Sunday he was waiting for me outside the arrival terminal at GIG as usual. I am a big "pump up music" person at the gym, while running, before meetings. So for the past 4 years I just can't help myself when I am coming back to Rio singing "Happy Days are Here Again" all the way home to Ipanema. Well as I was walking out I heard really loud loud music and the voices of Judy and Barbra singing "Happy Days/ Get Happy" and low and behold there is my car with all the windows down and the song just blasting. Of course this is the same guy, my driver, who listens to my oldies and loves the song "Me and Mrs. J…

Can anyone comment on this? I ask because I was invited to Barcelona and I heard that most of the guys in the saunas there are East Euro or Russian. Some that I've seen in other countries seem very handsome but how are they during sex and how do they compare to the kinds of guys you find in Brazil at 117? I like muscular or very fit young straight (or "straight," whatever) tops.

Citibank has something they call "virtual account number" which is a throw away or limited use credit card NUMBER that is linked to your "real" credit card number. For those big spenders in Brazil who pay in cash because they are concerned their credit card will be compromised or your privacy will be breached, might consider this option from Citibank. The "virtual account number" can also be used in the U.S. or on-line and in a variety of other places, including paying escorts that advertise they accept credit cards. Here is a link to a little more about how to set up this service, if you bank at Citibank. http://www.doctorofcredit.com/create-a-virtual-account-numb…

If you have traveled to DR for the boys, give me some feedback please... I had a conversation with a guy who travels to Santo Domingo at least 3-4 times a year for the boys...I dud that in my early 20's and quickly got over DR by my late 20s and celebrated my 31st there and decided to give it a LONG break.... DR has some very attractive guys who are well built and very attractive...My problem is that I find DR as a whole TOO third world.... I love the guys and the availability and variety but HAD the overall experience and prefer Rio as a whole... What do you guys think?

I am a regular to Brazil but recently over the last several months had to complete a project in Italy. I contacted and was with three guys on Planet Romeo who are from Brazil. In turn these guys introduced me to so many other Brazilian guys hustling in Europe. They seem to rotate locations, like there is a circuit. Many of the guys are the type you would see at Lagoa. They were a great time, spoke English (some better then others), spent a few hours, had dinner at the apartment and between 100 and 150 Euro. I was afraid to ask to many questions (might not like what I would have heard) and did not disclose that I am in Rio and Sao Paulo all of the time. These guys are not…

Hey Guys- Would love to hear some personal experiences from guys based on their age on the type of experiences they have had in the saunas scene. I started traveling to Brazil at about 25 and based on my experiences, I have had guys willingly want to "hang out" outside of the saunas as well as had guys question why I was in the sauna in the first place. I have read some responses based on physical appearance but would love to hear the dynamic based on age alone....the seasoned gents, the younger guys, etc. At the end of the day, it is all about the money but aside from that, how was your experience with how you were treated....

In another thread on this forum, a photo was added. I did a little research about the photo and learned that the guy in the photo is a Brazilian who, supposedly, used to go to sauna Clube 117 in Rio about 7 or 8, or so, years ago. Although I have been to that sauna many, many times, I never saw him there. Several photos of the guy appear in the various links below. Maybe some long time members remember the guy and might also recall that Calvin Klein used to visit sauna 117 fairly often while Klein owned a condo in Rio. In one of the sites I located in the search of his photo that I read about this guy, he said his favorite underwear is the Calvin Klein brand. I …

Ok so it's looking like my plan is 10 days in Brazil. Rio for sure and São Paulo but should I try and strech another place? This is both a tourist trip as well as wanted to enjoy the boys of Brazil trip. Anyone got any sample itineraries or ways to break it up that make sense also taking into the account of when each sauna is best to visit.

On April 16th, a retired gay man was found murdered in his apartment in Sao Paulo. He had met a hustler from Lagoa and allowed the hustler to stay with him in his apartment. After three days of staying with the man, the hustler took the cord from the man's land-line telephone and wrapped the cord around the man's neck and strangled and killed him. The hustler took only the man's cell phone and credit cards and a little cash - - plus the man's life. The police claim that they are hunting the killer but I suspect that not much work will be done to look for the killer. The murder of a gay man in Brazil does not garner high priority for the police. I presented this …

Most of us don't think about bad things while we are in Brazil. I have been lucky during my many trips. The only thing I lost was a cheap cell phone that someone picked from my pocket while I was on the Metro. However, with so many expensive smart phones in use today, anyone who uses them in public is at risk. Here is an article that discusses theft and shows that even Brazilians can be targets of thieves. http://riotimesonline.com/brazil-news/opinion-editorial/letter-such-crimes-affect-brazilians-as-well/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheRioTimes+%28The+Rio+Times%29# So, the message is - use your phone but not in an area where…

Hello all, I wanted to get people perceptions on solo traveling to Brazil. I normally travel with family or groups but am looking forward to traveling on my own for a change. I am looking at Sao Paulo and Rio for 10 days in October. Pitfalls to avoid? Things I shouldnt miss? (first time traveler) Guides to get a general tourist overview of the cities? General observations would be helpful.

I really enjoy visiting Brazil. The only two things I dislike while I am in Brazil are (1) the frequent holidays and (2) the frequent protests/demonstrations. Today's protest/demonstration is supposed to include "500" cities and "hundreds of thousands of people" throughout Brazil. The protest will lead no where because it is fueled by another futile attempt to oust Brazil's president. The protests to oust her continue even though the president appears to have not committed any impeachable offense. Quite simply, the people just don't like her even though she is on her second term. On the plus side, the protests give Brazilians a way to spend some time together …

Will be good to catch up with Ihpguy and hear about his European adventure and, in eight days time, meet Tomcal in Porto Alegre. Tomcal who i have not seen in probably 7 years. This is a fairly bog standard trip in terms of saunas and timings so i probably won't wont post too much unless something has really changed.
