the last time I was in Brazil was this past June, I was planning on going back the end of Sept/early Oct., but now that looks like it may not happen and is going to get postponded a few weeks or more. Fortunately 68 of my current friends on FB are current or former sauna boys! THey keep me informed about what's going on. For those of our readers who are starting to get bored, there will be photos at the end of the article showing currently working guys. So to start out. RIO - Monday's are best at Meo Mundo. Tuesdays at 117, Weds, chances are 50/50 that either of those two will have decent numbers of guys. Thursday I would have to vote for 117, and Friday is Meo Mundo ag…

Yesterday at 117 something happened that I couldn't believe. Three different boys refused a client's request to get fucked for either 100 Reais or even 150 Reais. Here, where the wage for a lojista or retail worker is rarely over 1100Reais/month, yes per month, they refused the offer to plug a clleint in the butt for 30 minutes for THREE HUNDRED REAIS. Yes. 300Reais. Why? The clleint was over six feet tall, long blond hair, overweight but there were others there last night who were larger, but a hairless transvestite from Argentina. She was going from one boy to the next to the next, 5 or 6 in total, and they all refused to do him/her for the offered 300Reais. I told …

One thing I'm still trying to decide is why it's so hard to find men of comparable quality in the USA who you can pay, as you can find in Brazil. I'm not sure if the reason is purely economic or if it's cultural. It's better to think about this without wishful thinking. First off let me clarify what I mean here by guys of comparable quality. In my opinion the gay guys you meet at gay clubs are similar in the US to what you find in Brazil. I'm not saying this to brag but I've never had trouble hooking up for free with such guys, and also never had any interest in it. Rather, I'm talking about straight, or at least bisexual men who identify as straight and live a straight …

Interesting set of photos from gay guys in Cuba. I have wanted to go there for years. I loved the pictures and the sweetness and toughness of the men in the photos! http://www.queerty.com/photos-the-secret-homoerotic-lives-of-cuban-men-20140818

Yesterday I booked an authorized tour to Havana [Habana] next February/March and had made plans to fly from San Francisco to Cancun then take the charter Cuban flight to Havana. Well, today when I spoke to an agent at the company which is based in Canada [Vancouver], I was told that I would NOT have to travel via Cancun but could take this charter from Fort Lauderdale, Miami, or Tampa, Florida. Damn, you should have seen the lights rise in my study. I plan to go to my beginning destination and stay a few days. While there I'd plan to have lots of fun prior to meeting those hot Cubanos. Cancun has little action from what I've read and researched, so I'll do one of the…

I heard that the saunas there are (or used to be) as good as 117 in Rio, with a similar quality and style of boy. Is this true?

http://www.loverboys.com.br/ has anyone ever used this site before? now, i dont speak nor read portuguese, so can somebody clarify if the site is targeted to gay men or is it just a general male escort(to be hired by male/female)? i must say it does look like a gay men's online shopping paradise, however i have a hard time trying to find the word 'gay' on the site, plus there's a picture of one of the boys banging a girl.

A month ago I went to Porto Alegre for 5 days. I was recently reminded that I never wrote a review of that trip! As alot of readers here know there were other things going on at the time and I "forgot" to write about that last trip. So here it is. I decided to stay at a new hotel this trip and it turned out great! The Quality Hotel in the same area of Porto Alegre where I always stay called "Moinjos de Vento". It is a really nice area, great to walk around in, with tree lined streets, many boutique restaurants and shops and very safe. The Quality Hotel is across the park from the Sheraton. It is on a small four block long narrow street on the SW side of the park. The str…

Now that the World Cup is closing down, do you think the prices for hotels and apartments in Rio will be going down? Or, will they continue to go up?

It has been some years since I last visited Brasil. (if i had not put my passport in the washing machine by mistake I would know how long). I mostly used to go September but it's tentatively looking like a December visit this year. I had heard Tomcal talk about Porto Alegre and seeing the photos of some of the guys makes me realise I need to include this in my itinerary. A few questions; Has anyone had experience of Brasil over Chrismas New year? ie any day taxis don't run? If i can't get to Porto Alegre for a Saturday, is it not worth going to PA? Can someone link me apartment rental for Rio please? Probably for a Mon to Fri Rental thank you

I am not sure if this is the "right" forum to post this, but since 90%+ of my posts are posted here, I decided this is where it will go. I hate to do this but I will be retiring from this forum.. As much as I enjoy it and have made good friends here, my ability to travel and "HO" is quickly coming to a end and I will have no new information/pics to post. I have always viewed this forum as a place to share information about my experiences so that others could have as much fun as I have had, and answer questions that come from going to a foreign country and navigating the sexual landscape! I remember vividly coming back from my first trip to Rio in October of 2001 and thin…

Yesterday's matches were really thrilling. Lionel Messi scoring with 3 minutes left in extra time and winning 1-0 against Iran. In Tehran, they were cheering with excitement at coming so close to a tie with one of the best sides in the world. Bosnia & Herzegovinia getting jobbed by the umpire on an offside and losing to Nigeria And who ever imagined Ghana and Germany ending tied in giving the US almost a free entry into the knockouts. And today, who or what do you prefer to eat. Creme fraiche Belgian truffles or Caviar Blinis? Dog-Ka-Bobs or Hummus? And finally, Mom's Apple Pie or Bacalhau?

Okay. Not sure for the reason. Maybe Cariocas really do love sushi; served in enough por quilos after all. Or maybe there are a lot more people here that like their sex the Greek way? But tonight's match from Natal between Greece and Japan is being broadcast live on three over-the-air channels, four cable channels and no kidding, 10 different HiDef channels.

Spain died. Chile killed them 2-0 with even 6 minutes of stoppage time in the second half. One of the biggest shockers in WC history in the opinion of the announcers. La Furia Roja were more tranquil and calm than a fury. And as far as the red, the must be the figurative blood of their side that they left on the green pitch of the Maracana. Fireworks here as one of Brasil's prime challengers is out of the competition with 2 straight losses. I think Germany still has the strongest team in the Cup, but we'll see.

Having been to Rio on multiple occasions, I have to say, I love venturing out into the wild unknown. One of my favorite places is the Rio Scenarium. It is such a cool place where you can dance and eat and relax in the midst of antiques and clocks and sofas from years gone by. The place is charming and on one visit, my friend from the USA told me it was his favorite place on earth! Check out this list of fun places to see when in Rio! http://edition.cnn.com/2014/05/14/travel/rio-lapa/index.html?hpt=hp_c6

I know that many of you in the US watch BBC television, so this post is to alert you to two programmes recently broadcast in the UK Brazil: In the Shadow of the Stadiums was a decent documentary. It did have astonishing disclosures on the level of child prostitution (both boys and girls) and the involvement of the police. Apparently some of the children wanted their faces and names to be revealed. Welcome to Rio is a 3part series. Two episodes have been aired and so far, it's not a great documentary. But I did find the episodes fascinating because they show much of the daily life in the favelas. I'm not naive and have travelled widely in Africa and Latin America for ext…

Just curious if anyone knows about good things in Bogota or Medellin, etc., Colombia. Might be going there and wanted to know if there's anything similar to 117 in Rio and if not, then what kinds of places or boys are available. Thanks!
