Hello all I'm brand new to the forum but have enjoyed reading it. I am thinking about making a trip to Brazil...and I have appreciated all of the for first timer posts watchouts and warnings. I did have a question. How are the saunas and boys for those of us that might be a little thicker around the waist? I am 33, 5'7 and about 220 lbs with a hairy chest. Can people like me have fun there? Do the guys charge differently based on body type? I havent had trouble in the sex department by any means and I am confident enough in myself that I really don't give a fuck, but hell if I'm gonna pay for it make enjoy a place I want to feel good and not cheated. Am I making sense…

Both American and Delta airlines are offering significantly low business class fares to Rio or to Sao Paulo from selected cities in the U S. The business class fare is fairly close in price of the ordinary coach fare. Here is an article discussing the fare war. Don't wait too long to decide if your intent is to visit Brazil. This price war won't last long. The low fare is valid originating from eight U S cities. Oddly enough, the fare is valid in Phoenix, a city that is not a hub to either air carrier. Of course, at these low prices, there are certain restrictions that must be followed. http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com/2015/03/19/fare-war-american-and-delta…

To my surprise (and breaking with tradition), last night Lagoa did not have a large turn out of garotos. Generally, a Lagoa customer can count on Wednesday and Friday nights to be spectacular as to the abundance of handsome and available garotos. Last night was a dud. Although there were several good looking garotos, there were, at most, 20% of what generally is available on Wednesday nights. There were the "regulars" that have been selling their wares at Lagoa for years. Those poor guys just don't realize that their looks have long since passed them by. I expect that future Wednesdays will produce a good turnout of garotos. Hopefully, last night was only a single …

Last night when I was out and about, I noticed huge crowds on the streets. I also noticed that police had blocked off some of the major streets in Sao Paulo. I knew there is a planned demonstration for Sunday. However, this demonstration last night was rather silly. Last night's demonstration it to show support for the politician that Sunday's demonstration is suppose to call for impeachment. In other words, on Sunday there is a demonstration to impeach the president. However, last night, there was a demonstration to show support for the president. Seems like a lot to do about nothing. Brazilians love to demonstrate Here is an article that appeared today discus…

Many of us who visit Rio de Janeiro think little to nothing about the dangers of visiting there. We have the same feelings about visiting anywhere else in Brazil. Check out the below link: http://riotimesonline.com/brazil-news/rio-politics/three-police-are-shot-and-killed-over-48-hours-in-rio-de-janeiro/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheRioTimes+%28The+Rio+Times%29 The article discloses that 57 police officers in Rio de Janeiro were shot just since January 1 of this year. If we combine the largest cities in the U.S. and total the crime statistics, we will not find anything like the crime statistics in Rio de Janeiro, one singl…

Brazil Brasil Rio Gay Guide Found Mid Feb 2015 at Club 117 Only saw it one night. The PDFs are in 2 parts. Please note that there is tiny type at the edges to tell you what part of town these places are in - it might be unreadable, due in part to compression of image files and the limited quality of the originals. Enjoy and good luck for those of you who cannot understand Portuguese. I do have some pictures of Rio that do show things other then naked guys, despite rumors you might have heard! :-) the following was taken from a blog titled "Marvelous City of Rio de Janeiro" Rio de Janeiro, situated between the sea and the mountain is definitely the most popular spot of the Brazilian territory. Even people who don’t know much about Brazil recognize this city (place) under the name Ciudade Maravillhosa (Marvelous City). It’s the second largest city in country and it’s cultural capital. Word Corcovado means “hunchback” in Portuguese. Mountain is located in central part of Rio de Janeiro. The peak is in the Tijuca Forest, a national park. the Statue o…

CUBA - maybe later this year Americans will be able to legally visit Cuba for tourism. As it stands today, it is prohibited for Americans to travel to Cuba solely for tourism. Currently, if traveling to Cuba on a "People to People" arrangement, any visit to Cuba by Americans is strictly monitored which takes away from the enjoyment and freedom of simple tourism. Presently, travelers on a People to People program are prohibited from visiting beaches and private tourism unless the entire group is present during any activity. This restriction spoils the possibility of enjoying the "real" sites of Cuba. Personally, I would not want to be stuck in a group of stranger…

I think that most frequent visitors to Brazil agree that Brazil has an unusually large number of holidays compared to the U.S. and to many other countries. In addition to the holidays, there are lots of strikes (greves) that disrupt banking and certain other services in Brazil. Over the years, I have had to make changes to my schedules, plans and itinerary while I was in Brazil because I failed to check ahead for holidays and certain banking strikes. Depending on how one feels about the effects of holidays (places being closed) it is a good idea to be aware of these dates. Taking the above one step farther, I learned that, next month, on Sunday, March 15, 20…

My plane ticket is bought and my casa particular is booked. I'm going to Havana in the middle of February 2015. It's been an early start to winter here in Northwestern Ontario. So I am looking forward to the warmth, the Mojitos and the men. Any tips or recommendations about Havana's gay scene. Thanks!

Any Recent Info For Buenos Aires, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil-other cities, Love Motels Planning a trip for Feb 2015. Lots of internet Forum info from a few sites for 117 and Mundo in Rio, Fragata and Lagoa in Sao Paulo, and Mezziniu Sauna in P Alegre. Folks seemed to like these 5 Saunas. Not much else mentioned though. Even dance clubs like Le Boy (where the "backroom" area opens up around 3-5 am), and restaurants where guys used to hang out like Chopperia Corujinha are not mentioned recently. Over the years I have also been to some other places in Rio, like the porn cinema and Sexy Rose at Cinelandia that are not mentioned here - although these are not always busy nor …

Well, not really, but the new Obama regulations open the door for travel there and thus, IMHO open the door for those of us that have waited so long to have some big fat Cuban cock. http://edition.cnn.com/2015/01/15/politics/cuba-regulations-announcement/index.html

I left Sao Paulo this morning after another great trip to Brazil. I already reported on some of my visits to the two rent boi saunas in Sao Paulo. At the Sao Paulo airport (GRU), my former sauna garoto that I previously mentioned from my prior trip was still working at the airline. He remains happy with his job at a U.S. airline. My former garoto friend took a break to give me a little "tour" of the new terminal. He wanted to show me some of the problems with the new Terminal 3 at Sao Paulo's international airport. A couple of us forum members, in a previous thread, remarked about how nice the new Terminal 3 looks. At that time, we had no idea that the new ter…

I've read this comment here and on other forums before, when discussions of sauna boys comes up. From my calculation today 100.00 USD = 258.10 BRL With the exchange rate being so favorable to the US dollar - why are some people concerned if an American wishes to share the benefit with an escort hire and pay a bit more? How does the generosity of one client spoil it for someone else? I know that when the exchange rates in Canada were much more favorable to the US dollar, I always felt comfortable either tipping more or paying more. We're not taking trinkets or souvenirs here - we're talking about people selling sex to us. They are human beings and I just can't buy into…

After a dull Thursday night at Lagoa, I decided to return to Lagoa last night (Friday). I arrived a little before six. Unlike Thursday night when the sauna was terribly dull, last night there were lots of clients but more important there were lots of garotos. Depending on likes and dislikes, I found several garotos that were extremely handsome and many were just ordinary in appearance, and, a few were not so good looking. While I was talking with some of my friends at the sauna, an exceptionally handsome garoto kept looking over at us and smiling and winking. After a minute or so of exchanging glances, the garoto came over to talk with us but he focused his atte…

I returned to Lagoa tonight (Friday night) and it was busy as a Friday night usually is. The garoto that I met last Friday (Leandro) was not there. For me, that set the stage for a slightly disappointing evening, but I survived okay despite his no show. I do realize that Leandro has to pay his travel costs from the airport area where he lives to get to Lagoa and then pay an entrance fee at Lagoa. After being out these costs (plus his time), there is no guaranty he will score a client to recoup his costs. That is a good reason for a no show. Regardless of the uncertainties of scoring a client, lots of garotos continue to visit the saunas (thank goodness) and also i…

For several years, it was customary to find Lagoa busy mainly on Wednesday and Friday night. However, I learned this morning that the owner of Lagoa had decided on a plan to increase business on Monday nights. As part of the plan, the owner reduced the entrance fee for clients from a high of R$65 to R$35. The price depends on the mode of payment. For example, if a credit card is used, a client pays the highest entrance fee. If cash is the mode of payment, the client pays the lower entrance fee. As Tomcal pointed out in a different thread, 98% of the sauna customers are Brazilians. It is the Brazilians that fill the saunas, not the foreign tourists. Therefore, in…

I don't know how I'd be able to immediately repay someone who did this, but I'll do it. I'll take you out to a nice place, or I'll treat you to a night at 117 with your choice of boy next time I'm in town, whatever. But I want a pic of some boys at 117. One of the boys I'd like to see is Fernando. He also goes by Alexandre. Some of you have seen him. He's a very handsome boy, and highly sought after there. When I was there he was my favorite one, and I'd like to see what he looks like now. Note, however, that he is arrogant and doesn't let people take his pic as far as I know. He's a moreno claro with a kind of Brazilian/south Spanish/Sicilian face and wears a gold chain.…

I'm planning to go to Rio in August and wondering since it's considered "winter" over there and not as many tourists go there since it's not the summer or Carnival - does Club 117 and the like still have a good turnout during the offseason for tourists? I know it won't be as busy but I'm still hoping to have a good time. Thanks in advance for the input!

I just realized that I failed to mention that Lagoa was recently remodeled. The most obvious change is the demolition of the former "non smoking" television room. That floor space is now part of the former small bar near where the shows are performed and near where the open glass showers are found. Drinks and food are served at the larger bar area. The larger space gives the illusion of a larger sauna. I am not too crazy about the color of paint used in the new bar area but at least the color is cheerful. Some other areas of the sauna were ungraded and a gym area was added in the room just past the "swimming" pool. The new gym area doesn't get much foot traffic…
