Yesterday the northside of Rio proper was pretty much one large transit mess. Not due to the Centro reconstructions, but to a new initiative to combat the drug trafficers in a favela already supposedly "pacificed" by the UPP. This time it was Manguinhos, not far from the Galeao International Airport. Sauna Boys Alert! By the time you read this, Calvin Klein, an old 117 fixture will be on his way to Rio. in the past, besides patronizing the saunas, Mr. Klein had the habit of staying on the sidewalk across Copacabana Palace hotel where he was a guest, boywatching and inviting the cutes white ones to his room for photos and then providing cash and blow jobs. I was just talking to my good friend who got to Rio Saturday. He lives in NYC and flies almost weekly to major U.S. and European cities for business so he has a pretty good grasp on how expensive or inexpensive different cities are and he said Rio is now right up there with NYC or London for hotels/restauants/taxi's. Rio has gone within a couple of years from a really inexpensive place to visit to one of the most expensive. If you are used to London/Paris type pricing then you will be ok, otherwise be prepared for sticker shock! So if you go for great beaches, hot guys and don't worry about price you will be fine, but it's not a bargain anymore as far as cost goes. As…

I was finalizing my arrangements for my March trip to Brazil and the rental company offered this apartment based on my requirements....

I realized I had never posted a pic of this guy before. I don't know why, I just forgot! I met him 2 years ago when he was 18 at pointe 202 sauna which isn't known for ever having many twinks there. I am starting to get excited about my next trip to Rio. I always enjoy the beaches there but particularly the "gay" beach in Ipanema. Here's a couple pics to get some of you motivated that haven't taken the Brazil plunge yet! The beach areas are referenced by Posto numbers, posto being the lifeguard station number. During my six-week absence from Brazil, my friends who occasionally visited Fragata offered favorable comments. Tonight, I visited Fragata. The place was busy but not as busy as I have seen in the past. There were about 30 gatotos and about 30 clients. Many of the garotos are the same garotos that formerly visited Lagoa a few years ago. Lagoa generally has younger and better looking garotos than does Fragata. When Lagoa garotos begin to loose their looks, they snag fewer clients and eventually they switch over to Fragata. After the Intercontinental was sold a few years back, I thought for sure that IHG would acquire another property or two but they have not. Rio is still lacking any IHG hotel. I find this odd for a major international city. Has anyone heard of them building one there?

I have a good friend who lives in Merida Mexico several months a year. Merida is about 190 miles west of Cancun and a little over 1 million population.
