  1. I've got a "mi casa es su casa" attitude with people I invite to my place. So if a member of staff took the whiskey, I'd consider it theft, but if the boy did, I wouldn't. That said, personally I would ask before taking anything unless it was offered to me, so depending on the circumstances it could be considered rude. The OP's real problem is that he doesn't know who's to blame. Move on and make sure you will know next time...
  2. It's not sensationalist at all, Thailand is quite a dangerous country to visit. The more people buy travel health insurance thanks to reading such an article, the better!
  3. Tiny little handguns (cheers to Nancy Reagan) for personal protection could still be allowed, I think, but banning the sale and possession of assault rifles really should be a no-brainer.

    Jet Lag

I don't take any medication. I just choose to suffer through the first day by staying awake until it's night time locally, which helps to get a decent amount of sleep at the right time. I had my worst jetlag ever when I allowed myself an afternoon nap after arriving; I couldn't sleep for several nights.
  5. I like the thrill of figuring out things the hard way by myself and exploring a place by just stumbling around. When and if I have the time to do so. But - and that's a BIG but - most people I know are different, they like to plan things and be taken care of. That and quite a number of reports from happy customers on here make me think that such a gay tour guide service is a great idea. I think the way they word their terms is the only sensible option - pimping is illegal in most if not all the countries they operate in, and a professional guide with a steady stream of customers might not necessarily be up for extras. Then again he might be, whatever happens.
  6. Now that is true! But make it 91 years like Hugh Hefner.
  7. steveboy, that you're still worried about a terrorist attack instead of a heart attack when attending a Babylon foam party is probably a good sign - you're confident in your good health.
  8. Much as I like DJ Station, it's very high on my list of places where I'd hate to be in case a fire broke out. Even among Bangkok's notorious death traps, due to its layout DJ Station is probably worse than most.
  9. I think Scooby made it clear that repeat offenders will be banned, not suspended. samebb did get suspended after his run-in with jfarmer over posting photos. Suspending him yet again for his conduct on this thread doesn't make any sense, as he wasn't willing to change. I agree that many of samebb's posts were very good and helpful. I, too, will miss them. It's just sad that he had these ugly episodes. Ban well deserved but unfortunate, I think.
  10. I don't think you are rude, but I do question your motive behind bringing up the "availability of Siam Roads guys beyond guiding" theme yet again. I think by now we all know that you've had sex with several of them, just how many more times will you see a need to communicate it?
  11. vinapu, I think it's fair to say that the TAT probably won't choose your photo to promote Pattaya.
  12. Michael, I remember that you brought that up before. You seem to be somewhat obsessed with these guys for whatever reason. Sexual services are outside the scope of what Siam Roads offers, but why does it concern you what arrangements these guys make otherwise? Either on an app or as an add-on negotiated in person? I can't say I find it either surprising or inappropriate if and when that happens.
  13. Pity, alcohol was about the only thing that made swimming in that sewer look like a brilliant idea.
  14. Your credit card stolen, 55,000 baht. Your Swiss hometown reading the news and seeing what you've been up to in Thailand, priceless.
  15. What stops you? Start a new thread and talk about it!
  16. I don't know, doing laundry isn't exactly my idea of a nice vacation.
  17. So, as a courtesy to the next guest getting your room after you, soil the linens to such a degree that the maid will have no other option than to change them.
  18. So what was the total expenditure for that naughty afternoon as described, if you don't mind sharing?
  19. One of the rare cases where I'd probably pick the farang, between those two lads.
  20. I'll join the "don't worry" crowd, just write your reports the way you see fit and I'm sure we'll have fun reading them. You still have a long time to look forward to your trip, but hey, at least you know the dates and can countdown the days.
  21. I'd guess you are well aware that there are many differences between UK and Thai Royals. For starters, the use of public funds by the former is open to public debate. I think nobody on here will be able to answer your particular question; there are no detailed reports made available about that kind of decision in Thailand. And it also isn't the kind of subject matter a journalist would feel like investigating further.
  22. You could stay at the legendary Dusit Thani before it will get demolished, to make your one night even more special. Location-wise it would also be great, as you plan to hit the bars.
  23. Oh but it will probably be flooded by October. Don't get your hopes up.
  24. They don't even scan barcodes during boarding pass check before security, so realistically, I think that they might scan them on the bus seems quite unlikely.
  25. There has been talk about integrating ticketing for BTS and MRT since the MRT first opened... The "Spider Card" does look promising in the sense that they seem to be actually working on it, but I won't get my hopes up (again) until I can finally buy one and use it everywhere.
