  1. Hi All

I'm due to fly out from Australia to Bkk and drive to Pattaya on the weekend.

Australian Gov't has issued a 'reconsider your need to travel' warning

I'm thinking I'm at as much risk of getting COVID19 at home as I am in Pattaya.

I'm reasonably healthy (fat and unfit).

    Who's still going, who's cancelling?

  2. I have a quick trip to Jomtien coming up and I will be travelling with someone that is not used to the idea of lovely Thai boys being my thing!

Where in Jomtien are Short Time Hotels? Any recommendations?

I'll be staying at View Talay 7, so the closer the better

    TIA

  3. Hahahahhaha.

Yes that was my flight... I like how they say "its management at Perth International Airport took immediate action to help stranded passengers to get accommodation at a hotel waiting for the next flight of THAI. Some passengers changed to other airlines"

FML. 10 hours later I still haven't heard from THAI and I was able to book my own ticket on a flight the next day. Obviously they have not help many of the 235 stranded passengers onto the next flight.

If only there was another airline that flew direct to BKK

  4. Hi Guys

I had my Thai Airways flight cancelled today due to engine problems. Long story short, we boarded, waited for 30 mins, got off the plane and got cab vouchers home with the promise of a phone call to arrange a new flight.

Eight hours later no phone call and all the numbers I have are for Mon-Fri Business hours, so I have booked a new return trip for Sunday.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? I'm wondering how I'll go with the travel insurance company, will they pay for the cancelled return flight or will Thai issue a refund?

Any help most appreciated. I will have to deal with it when I get back I guess

  5. I think they tried to get this up and running earlier this year. It will be interesting to see if all the 7elevens and small stalls in MBK etc pay for a fingerprint reader at 8000B.

Interesting that they are starting the roll-out in the troubled Southern Provinces. Previously they have said the implementation was related to bank fraud, this article clearly mentions bombs being detonated by mobile phones

  6. I met him on Thai Love Links or whatever its called now. we've been chatting or video chatting for some time now.  Maybe I am naive about calling him my BF.  He is an awesome guy, 20 yrs old, so very good looking, works in an office, lives alone in a flat.  H's invited me to stay with him for the trip, but I got a hotel room just in case, so he agreed to spend time at my hotel and me time at his flat.  He hasn't asked for money or anything from me except to come see him, which I am gladly doing since I've wanted to come to Thailand since the 80's.

I usually put the cart before the horse, I know getting him to the US wont be easy or fast, maybe a year or too, who knows.

Thank You Bob, i will keep that in mind.

So you haven't even met him in person yet? I do wish you all the best of luck. I think you may need it! :)

  7. Chatuchak market is ok for at the most 3 hours and it will be as hot as hell during the time of your holiday.

I've only been once. It was fun, hot and exhausting. Is it just me or are all the markets selling the same crap? Nice to visit once or twice but nothing worthwhile buying. I'd only go back to eat some food

  8. Regardless of the Travel times go to Pattaya!!

I haven't been to CM yet but Phuket is not the place to go for a short trip 1st time alone. The number of (gay) bars is low, perhaps the boys are available on the apps now.

Pattaya on the other hand has boys everywhere. I would definitely stay a few nights, perhaps a weekend trip?

  9. My latest comment on thighty-whities had to do with GWMinUS's post about his Jockey Briefs.

Whenever I think of Jockey Briefs I always recall a scene from the American TV series Breaking Bad where the main character, Heisenberg aka Walter White appeared in his tighty-whities. Funny but scary.  By the way Breaking Bad was a great show.

    What a good show

  10. I am not a food connoisseur and my epicurean sense goes as far as seeing food as combination of protein, carbohydrate and fat.  So all my life I wondered why Thai restaurants are significantly more expensive than others who offer about the same stuff.

Until I visited the LOS for the first time, and realized that the real Epicurianism of Thailand is in its nice Thai boys. This is what I enjoy in my trips, not the food, and I haven't been in a Thai restaurant outside of LOS for decades.

I love Thai food and probably only ended up in Thailand the first time because of the food. The boys soon became another reason to go

  11. And he just had the job of President for eight years!  It is well known that this job ages the person very much

Bill Clinton was the same age when he ended his term, but he was fat and sick. Today at 70 he is slim but looks quite old. So a person without the stress of a presidency can look better at 70 than these guys.

We can see how good Cher looks at her 70.  Madonna is not far behind at 59.  They both look great in jeans.

So... it seems that age does not destroy, but our habits might.

I'm not sure if anything that's left of Cher is real/original ..
