this article recently appeared in a publication with a interview of Junior Barbarossa the owner of Pointe.  He like everyone else does not think the gay escort saunas will last much longer(as most everyone agrees)! So for those who have been putting off going for whatever reason, you should go this next year as it could be your last chance!  

I agree Oz, unfortunately i think the Brazilian economy has affected the middle class/middle age clients the most!  a night out at the sauna for a Brazilian costs $60R. for admission, suites vary but a night out at the sauna for a local runs about $300.R.if they do one guy! and have a drink! those who used to go Once a week go once a month if that!

I hope the saunas last a long time. The locals use them and many will not use the apps. They are legal and legit. I am not sure those things will change.
Like most areas, apps do change the numbers. But, there is always a case for viewing in person as opposed to online. A recent trip to a Bangkok Massage for a cute guy turned out to be really bad for me as he looked NOTHING like the photos. I always enjoyed the saunas as you really get to see the good before you test them in a room.
I do miss those big nights at 117 where I had to wait 2 hours for a room.

i got to Rio today after the overnight flight from Miami! i love the 5 hours less travel time then coming from SoCal,    i am staying in a different apt. then  i have the past 11 years as it wasn’t available! the location is great,  i’m in Ipanema a 1/2 block from Farme de amoedo and r. visconde de piraja, which used to be the heart of gay nightlife but no more!🥲
My phone started going off as soon as i landed and there was one of my favorites here to greet me 15 minutes after i arrived! we went to lunch then played around for a hour and. then he left and i got ready to go to 117, it was raining very hard but there was a surprising number of guys there and fairly busy for a rainy sunday night!
Monday my Lunch date came over and left at 4:00(he did this for the next 4 days!) I went to Pointe202. and by 6:30 it was fairly full.  I went up with a guy i know and a new guy who said “I love being passive!” we had a good time and after socializing for awhile i left to meet my dinner/sleepover guy…who i have been rapidly falling for over the past year!  con’t

i usually get there around 5:30PM! and leave around 8:30 or 9:00 at the latest!! i am not a affectionado of drag shows!, so once they come on i usually leave! 

The sound of a dragon is my cue to either get a room with my garoto of choice or go relax in the steam room / video room. The only time I want to watch the drag-helmed show is if there is a gogo boy I know will interest me.

Prices are dependent on how good a negotiator you are! But considering that the current currency rate is over Brazilian $5.25 to $1.00 US. i didn’t really worry about what the current rate the guys were charging.  none were out of line.

i usually get there around 5:30PM! and leave around 8:30 or 9:00 at the latest!! i am not a affectionado of drag shows!, so once they come on i usually leave! 

i will say that 117 was very packed on a rainy tuesday evening! it was almost as much fun talking to guys i had not seen in a long tine that i forgot to get my name in for a room! until after 7:40 and we got there at 5;00! 
Wednesday was a repeat of tuesday during the day, and then my new love interest and I met up at Pointe202 for their busiest night of the week. By 6:30 it was packed!  we be met up with a guy i have known about 1-1/2 yrs who is a 21 yr old kinda shy(out of bed!). who ended up going back to the apt with us and staying the night!  Really a fun evening with these 2 guys! con’t

i don’t know why/or how that font started out so big but decided i would leave it that way for Lucky!
On Monday night the 24,year old i am very hot on, stayed overnight snd left at 8:30 am with plans to meet at 117 that evening. Tuesday at noon a guy i met 2 years ago and is a Brazilian Jujitsu competitor is at the gym from  8:00 to 11:00 every day so he usually shows up at noon or 10:00 at night after classes, so i have to make sure i keep accurate times when he is due to stop by!  He does not work at a sauna i met him through another guy i knew. Really a nice guy! After he left at 4:00 i left for 117 as Tuesday night is their biggest night!  I met the guy there who is my newest “love” interest and we looked for a 1 or 2 passivo  to go to a room with us….that took about 2 minutes!  after we left 117 we went to dinner in Ipanema and then he spent the night.  con’t
