This is a tasting menu? That is 12 courses?

Like a hybrid in a sense. I cannot put away all the items on a typical tasting card. I am not a big eater and drink very little alcohol. This was smallish palate-teasing bouches to start with a flute of sparkling; may have been Thai vinyard as I know that I had a few glasses of nationally produced wine over a number of weeks. Mains all arrived at once, equivalency to a large entrèe. Dessert light and refreshing, a first for me wrt that fruit species.

Most days my nutrition intake was a few bucks, geared to requirements over hedonism, as that’s my playbook. Go large occasionally, though admittedly Brioche From Heaven at Chong Nonsi BTS wouid subvert all health goals if in my home city.

    Sounds delicious 🤗

I’ve found that another pleasant walk is from Screw Boy to Foodland—with boy pairing for about same price. 😋

Now that is the definition of pedestrian.

there's the word that some enterprising motorsai drivers are offering lift on that distance for meager 20 baht

Aaah … that explains the Patpong Dept Store displays, one for Songkran, the other for everyday drab that’s useful for concealing drooling as well as accidental mussel salad drippings.

  4. The winter weather is so frigid that the main source of the Feenstra frostration has been an authoritarian Russia-imposed freezing of their bank accounts containing their life’s work farm sale proceeds. It is likely that they would now, though grudgingly, trade off an acceptance of the occasional rainbow flag flapping in their rural southern Saskatchewan community for access to a permafrost-mitigating generator grinding away at their district’s Wells Fargo outpost.

  5. Can’t the expat forum fact check or be logical? The article indicates that a crackdown on LGTBQ+ rights has “complicated” the plan. Why would that defenestrate the Feenstras since the ideologies don’t mismatch? What actually transpired in the toilet misunderstandings?

  6. I hope you feel more than mostly better soon.

I don’t bother with SIM cards and pretty much just tap into lodgings’ wifi weeks at a time. Very rarely incur a carrier roaming charge and only then out of necessity; my plan costs $20 daily even if I just nullify airplane mode for an instant. It’s more economical to catch a meal and tap into venue internet.

However, I think 117 does have wifi and you can ask staff to enter the password and it should load each time you return but only in certain areas of the building. Gregora Arte across the street will release their password if you dine there. Parenthetically, the food is good. Similarly, if you loiter a bit in front of their patio without entering you can catch the signal. But it’s consistently my haunting grounds a few blocks from accommodations so YMMV on the plugged-in needs spectrum.

No, he does not look underage. He does use Botox, so he doesn't have wrinkles, …

Is it just me or does this not come across as plum sad at such a young age, notwithstanding personal autonomy and the realization that I just myself inserted a values judgement.   Assuming it’s cosmetic, speaks volumes about the unfortunate trend of body dysmorphia and the difficulty of influencing those subject to it. Looking in the mirror at any age and feeling humiliation or anxiety about life’s natural course is the story here. I hope he doesn’t subsequently bear a greater burden of the inevitable debt we all pay the piper.

  8. Canada just shit the sleigh bed on one component of HIV testing options, with a stated decision to cut funding for a federal long-standing sophisticated self-admin rapid test program. Seems counterintuitive given the global-by-2030 containment goals. I’d been able to walk in to a uni campus down the road for a kit, or have the same thing mailed to a remote region Canada Post depot where summer cabin is located.

I can certainly afford to purchase the one licensed product from the manufacturer but many folks, often marginalized or skittish about visibility, benefit from the no-cost and the staffed infrastructure access that includes a thorough educational component and stated contingencies for confirmatory necessity hinging on test results.

Another idea: send emails or txts to the owner, alerting him to his deteriorating reputation.

Make sure you thank him for having attentively noticed your consumption rate, sending floor staff over to you making sure you didn’t need that extra bebida or a microwaved frozen pizza. Allegedly. Then encourage him to bring in talent that inspires one to cover multiple sequential cabin lets and added refreshments for hires.

But, sure, a brothel trade broker gets into the business for the precision of merchandise tallying and the associated reputation of it. 😉

If you’re nice and polite about checking the tab, like we typically do at restaurants, etc, perhaps it really doesn’t matter what ‘tude we perceive with often a queue behind us.

  10. One reason I take an apartment alone or in addition to a hotel room is the overabundance of salt typically used in eateries or sidewalk grills, particularly meat dishes. Prepare myself a lot of my nutrition. Not so much due to fluid retention worries but because I have no recollection of a past existence wherein a stall salt lick figured prominently as a dietary treat. Not a criticism as perhaps it’s related to preservative functionality. I have found, though, that a few mocequa  meals have been seasoned to my liking.

  11. Not my take at all reading the Reynolds research team’s Cochrane-published work as well as an additional recent CoV-specific  systematic review appended here. All concede a substantial risk of bias that undermines the rigour with which a randomized control trial would be best conducted.

The few studies labelled RCT actually fall methodologically somewhere between observational and RCT because “control” in a genuine RCT does not simply denote the distinction between an intervention arm and a non-intervention control arm but aims to control, hold constant in multivariate analysis (meaning removal out of the equation via statistical techniques) those factors that can subvert or unintentionally but incorrectly support the outcome under investigation.

In contrast, a vaccine RCT narrows the exclusive effect of the inoculation. You cannot match mask-wearers and non-wearers across the many variables otherwise predictive of infection. You cannot objectively measure adherence.

The Bangladesh geo-cluster trial reported a modest benefit. This single study doesn’t necessarily support mask wearing; risk of bias permeates both desired and non-effect results. Cherry-picking is not useful in either of two orchards geared to an a priori binary viewpoint.

My point is that there is probably no solid basis to either support or dismiss the merit of proper mask use in quantitative (ie, efficacy) terms. The pathogen has the upper hand, similarly immeasurable other than absolute incidence.

Try reading and appraising the material without predisposition one way or another to the potential benefits of a risk mitigation concept.

  12. You have the option of 2 towels or 1 towel plus a large terry cloth robe on check-in. If you spread out the robe on a vinyl mattress, not routinely swabbed between sessions because the cleaners are run off their feet and cannot track everything minute by minute that goes on in every private space, you get more cloth coverage over it.

Another tip: If you rent a room that is put on your check-out tab, you have it for an hour. Write down the time from the clock at reception, making sure the attendant knows you are aware, and optionally keep the key for 55-59 minutes because you may want to fit in at least one more session. Rookie mistake is to hand back the key after 20-30 minutes and then regret it.

The light dimmers generally don’t function well.

I am mostly asking BlkSuperman as I read his well-written with great envy and interest. I am interested in possibly connecting with Manny (or another procurer). My hotel in the Zona Colonial is very high end and I doubt Manny could just drop men there. I am guessing the security is tight. Does San Domingo have less expensive love hotels for cheap rates as Brazilian cities often do. I apologize if they are listed here somewhere but I didn’t see an such notes. Or maybe someone has a different solution for the problem.

    thanks

Just ask him. You’d be surprised. I am guessing Nicolás Ovando (?) but Caribe Colonial is a sure bet and they’ll all know what’s up as he pretty much has his name painted on a parking spot there. As you are aware any visitor will need to produce ID to the reception. There are post notes on inexpensive tryst facilities in El Condé if you search. The subforum is not that extensive.
